Congratulations and now you can start a new chapter in your life. I did 33yrs in the Active and Reserve Army and I enjoyed it all. Now it’s time to look for a new job and career. I wish you and your daughter all the best. My military service started in 6/1/1977 and ended in 12/28/2010. Make sure you register with the VA medical benefits and use you VA benefits for school and housing.

I did five years and it’s different at first. My mental health did a number on me but what I did was what I did in the military. I wake up early I stay busy and I keep my life super structured. I hope that helps. Also DO NOT loose that DD214 and make sure you have all of your page 4s. 🎉congratulations

I can remember the day I got out of the Navy… didn’t know how to feel but it definitely was a relief. I took about two weeks just to relax before I landed a job. From one veteran to another, Thank you for your service.

I felt the same way after leaving. Please make sure you have a copy of your Med Record for future VA Claims. Glad you have already started the VA Claim process!!! You got this...the transition isn't that hard, just make sure you connect with other veterans that are WILLING to help you post-military. Take care

Enjoy. Enjoy. Enjoy. I've been out for some years medically discharged. It was an adjustment at first but now oh yeah. I have a daughter who got out in 2020 and sometimes I feel like she is still adjusting. Congratulations on closing one chapter and the beginning of a new one. I always tell every vet that I meet, if you pushing for 100% don't stop fighting for it. Be Blessed and take care of that beautiful little girl. YOU GOT THIS.

girl, I cried watching this when you were in the car explaining your emotions about getting out. I've been constantly going back and forth about getting out when my EOS comes around and its super scary thinking about the unknown but that means the amazing possibilities are just as endless. I had just struck OS when I came across ur channel and seeing all ur growth over the years has been an honor to watch. thank you for your service and sharing this moment with us! and cheers to this new chapter!

I still remember leaving my ship for the last time. On June 23, 1989. I walked off the brow and down the pier for the last time. Looked up at my ship one last time, and never looked back. Then i served in the Navy Reserve from 1990-2007.
