What a great review, very detailed, saved me from a wrong purchase and having to send it it back. Didnt get the info from patagonias site or shops pages even tho i looked at them in detail. Thank you!
Such a beast of a jacket. I had one, (bought second hand) for years. Such a great piece to wear during colder windy days. I went for a lighter synthetic jacket last year. But would highly recommend this.
Thanks for this vid, Im 6'2 and was struggling to find a video which indicated the correct size for me. I want a baggier fit so Ive just ordered the 2XL in white, wouldnt have been certain without seeing you wear this. Cheers!
I currently have a Micropuff hoody and I am looking for another jacket to wear in the winter. I live in New York and it gets pretty cold during the winter
I used to wear a northface Denali then I realize that it doesn’t adjust to weather to well. For example if it’s 40 degrees in the morning then in the afternoon it’s 55 degrees you are going to overheat. With the Micropuff i don’t have that problem
Polartec used to be known as Malden Mills and they are the ones who invented fleece and made toilet seat covers and rugs and partnered with Patagonia to come up with a way to use it for jackets and declined to patent it so anyone could make it.
Read my post above regarding Rab's Original Pile Jacket. That's exactly what you want....and they are cheaper than Patagonia! And yes, it's windproof!!
I don't remember the exact color, as I did this review about a year ago, but it seems to be very similar to the now available Pitch Blue/with Endless Blue.
Rab also makes a pile fleece that has a pertex liner making it waterproof! I have one, it's nice and I haven't got wet yet! You may like that one as well!
Hey lumpy can you leave a description. I’m looking for a retro x jacket but I may look into that one as well. The retro x may not be able to fit into my shell jacket in the event that it starts to rain

Cool, I'm impressed by it too.

Thank you so much, I'm trying.🙂
Thank you for taking the time to review this jacket. I appreciate your content.
I was looking for a review on this fleece and I knew “me and my jackets” would come through!
You got it!!!🙂🙂🙂

Can you layer the retro with the micro puff?
@@viralvalgi8497 the Micropuff is best worn as a midlayer with a shell over it

Just to be on the safe side go to a store that sells the micropuff and the retro x jacket and see which one works best for you
Live in Michigan at what temperature do you think the micro puff isn’t warm enough? Thanks

That's very cool to know! 🙂
My sister worked there before the fire. Years ago. She had mountains of fleece products lol.
Love my covert fleece but would buy something like that with a more windproof lining.
This is more of a jacket compared to the covert. Both are nice!

is this as warm as a cerium or down sweater jacket?
I would say that the down jackets are warmer, and lighter weight.
thank you @@meandmyjackets
