Last year he pledged to donate $7.5 Billion or 67% of his total worth for philanthropy. Premji's philanthropy is one of the biggest ever & even better than Gates Foundation comparatively. Tata's do great work too but are little behind compared to Wipro's Premji.

Amazon, Apple, Alphabet are all almost Trillion dollar companies, whereas Tata's, RIL are arnd $100B to $150B. Jeff Bezos was worth over $150B alone until his divorce recently & Bill Gates has donated nearly 30-40% of his worth & is still worth over $105B currently. Ratan Tata could have barely crossed $50B even if he hadn't pledged his philanthropy.

I have passed from the home a couple of times..there are no slums next to the house (the area it's built in is an area where billionaires stay) slums are located at a considerable distance from the place. (So the term building a huge mansion next to slums is technically incorrect)

Nathan is so on point. No one needs that big a house. Making a spacious, comfortable house is okay, but I'd prefer a comfortable and cozy cottage like house in the middle of nature...I like it that way...and a billion dollars won't change that... I'd probably equip the house with the best quality fittings, but I would still prefer something that is more like a home than a hotel

when you're the biggest industrialist based in mumbai, you do need a big and luxurious residence. they often host big names get togethers there, all the big businessman, bollywood stars and politicians do visit the place so it was necessary. as far as charity is concern they do help the poor. mukesh ambani's wife nita ambani heads reliance foundation which takes care of all the charity stuffs. they do help in promoting housing, education , health facilities among poor.
no it is not just about indians, it goes for everyone and that's what humanity is all about. if someone have the resources, he or she should help the needy. it's the social responsibility of all of us.

Just to clarify Mukesh Ambani is a self made man. He grew up in a very poor neibourhood. When they made it big he gave shares to all the other residents which when the company floated helped the residents get out of poverty. He employs Hundreds of thousands of people and is a prolific philanthropist. He does spend on him self but that provides employment. You mentioned why they need 600 servants. the employees get paid over market rates and are looked after. Or they could be unemployed. Which is better. Don't forget its easy to comment without knowing the facts.

Whenever there is talk about this, people will compare him with Tata. I mean tata has done a lot but there is no future for tata after Ratanji Tata. Where as ambani has kids that are capable of actually running the company.
