Paul Morphy starts the game with the rook odds.
This game has been played in New Orleans (1855)
In the oppening you will find Bobby Fischer's opinions about Paul Morphy and his talent. That was filmed when Bobby Fisher was going to Iceland on a plane.

Morphy is best chess player of all times old era new same
Agree 100%
@@michaelmendillo4614 I second that opinion of yours
When Fischer says some thing about Morphy then he is great
Also great game, but i really like the clip of Bobby Fisher talking about Morphy, ive watched alot on fisher but never seen that before, thanks again man...
Yes watching Fischer on mobile speaking about Morphy gives me the goosebumps like morphy Fischer had that certain something what you call in marketing that WOW factor really it's a piece of history which chess cannot do without well hcv sir thks I'm watching it again
Well I read the entire transcript of the interview but am not able to search in my history and don't know the link to it. If someone can help that would be good.
Historical chess videos: Nobody can play this fast.
Hikaru : Hold my Modern defense.
Morphy arise in romantic era of chess just like in bodybuilding Arnold arise in golden era
Fischer lost his marbles, but he always saw chess and the state of chess perfectly. Great observations
Yes Fischer had a keen insight of the game even today after all these years he would have taken on the modern legends head on Morphy would have done the same maybe lose some bcoz of lack of theory but would have bounced back strongly bcoz he quit early we never got to learn his full potential I believe he only played ten% but was still explosive
Paul Morphy is to chess what Efren Reyes is to pool.
Yes. And Bobby Fischer was the Earl Strickland of Chess.

Beautiful game. Don’t forget rook odds
Dr. A.P. Ford
most likely he is Morphy's opponent as you can guess from some books in which he is referred to as AP O Ford, nothing is known about this character, he had played with Paul's uncle, Ernest Morphy. book Morphy's Game of Chess published 'for who knows what mistake a game attributing it to Morphy who was actually between Paul's uncle, Ernest Morphy -DR APFord, who is different from this one. Probably this was the starting game that Del should have Dr. Ford is known for certain that he was an acquaintance of the Morphy family, one book reads:
'' On his twelfth birthday, Paul played with his uncle Ernest ... blindfolded! After winning the game, Dr. AP Ford gave him a very expensive mother of pearl inlaid chessboard, which was owned by Lawson. ''
Morphy is my idol
Una vez leía a un maestro comentando una partida de Morphy vs Bird que los ataques de Morphy requerian de buenas defensas por parte de sus oponentes sin fallos estilo ordenador y no siempre se podían hacer..
very nice.
bravo
Morphy najveci svih vremena
Hi everyone I'm back
I would continue with Bf5, then Qh6 leading to quick demolition of black, depending on his moves; or am I wrong?
You are right even though it is a very complex line I doubt even an engine could do it but the king and queen together can shepherd the two pawns to the promotion square against the two rooks
In the line that you showed at the end was it possible to trap the white queen on A7 with the two rooks?
Morphy is Alfa Zero of humans. but who's the old man with barber in the beginning of the video?
bobby fisher
😍😍😍😍😍
There is another line after bishops to e5 rook to d8 then queen there is no way to avoid cm on queen*h7+ or am I wrong
I believe there is another line after queen*bishop and queen*queen there is draw for white with perpetual checks
I disagree with Fischer. Like you said once, Morphy played like a computer before there were any.
You are right I don't care what Fischer or anybody says for that matter in my humble opinion Morphy is not only the all time greatest but the he is the God presiding deity of chess
Morphy would have taken him faster than the computer,,,,, lol
Wow not so fast I'm sure Morphy would have lost quite a few before going one up on him then I'm sure it would have been downhill for Fischer till he has a breakdown and loses his confidence like harwitz Anderssen loewenthal as for Staunton he simply ran away I'm sure of that Morphy would have taken on anyone of the modern masters without fear or favour about that I'm sure he was something else out of this world
Music pls
thank you sir for uplouding, master tolking about an other master. i feel sade about ficher we had so mutch to learn from him. but the jews dident let him peace
1033141 Fischer was Jewish
@@colinmurphy2214 : Ironic, isnt it? Yet he was antisemitic.
Yes,even I didn't know he was Jewish
Dr. A.P.Ford
I mean queen g5+ king h8 then queen queen to g5+ am I wrong
Not bad for a teenager.
I'm sorry I mean queen to h6 then queen*h7+
I'm sorry, but I think Morphy can see better than your engine
