- INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 7-3-20 3:09 am
LOCATION: SB I-805 @ L St
CITY: Chula Vista
DETAILS:
The driver of the semi-truck told us that he felt the impact of the car into the back of the trailer and when he looked into the rear-view mirror, he saw nothing but sparks flying behind him. He stopped and discovered a car lodged under the trailer.
The car had a female driver with major head injuries. Firefighters and the CHP arrived and started rescue and extrication of the victim. The extrication took over 40 minutes. The female was rushed to a local hospital. A SIG ALERT was called.
Wow! This is one of the most harrowing rescues I've seen. That woman is extremely lucky to be alive and I hope she will make a complete recovery. God bless the rescuers, they did a heroic job! 🙏👍
Wow! Wonderful teamwork to get her out. Hats off to the Fire Dept.
This lady has a guardian angel they say God has a plan for everybody this is definitely a miracle I hope she'll be fine and I praise all the fire department in the people that helped her to save her life
God bless the first-responders! I wish the woman a full recovery and soon.
She was my sister coworker she passed away leaving 3 little girls prayers blessings 🙏
jnt ms oh nooo why did she pass? She was still alive so sad
She went into coma and said she was brain dead
jnt ms just wondering who your sister is .. ?? And we’re did she get this information?
@@paolitna28 she didn’t pass. If you look further down on the comments she, herself commented that she’s alive.
God protect all you first responders thank you
Omg bb girl 😭 I hope you recover completely
Thank god for our first responders they saved my life. you start to appreciate what they do just a little more
Wow! Another on the spot 🎯 video Doug....really a tragedy. Thanx for filming!!
This was videp from SoCal Code3
It's a miracle shes alive
This may be one of the gnarliest videos I’ve seen on this channel. That was crazy
Semi trucks should have BIGGER, LONGER BRAKE LIGHTS!!
I've Been saying this forever.... maybe it could've helped in this situation. Prayers
I don't think the firemen get respected when arriving at all calls. E.M.T. save lives but the hard work is done by the firemen at the scene. I have seen 1000.'s of videos where the firefighters are fist on seen. They are amazing and need the up most respect of all.
Imagine the horror they have seen. Knowing they all have families. Being a first responder has got to be the hardest job
Amen they have a heck of a job and they are HEROS they really are God Bless Them All and Thank you !!
Charlene heroes*
Most of those firemen are also paramedics and first on scene to provide medical assistance. Very hard working people.❤️🤍💙
Thank G-D shes alive! I hope she fully recovers. I was there shortly after that happened.
Hats off to the Fire Department! Great job!
wow drive safe. must see for young drivers !
I really hope she recovers poor girl
I hope she gets well soon. I always try to avoid driving at night
So scary! Her poor head! Don’t jump to conclusions about her. You don’t know what caused it. That was graphic.
Apophis Medina Are you going to reply to everybody’s comments? “Totally” shut up...
Apophis Medina you don’t know if she has any other medical issues. She could of had a seizure while driving. So you should totally stop judging someone off of a 9 minute video totally.
Hilarious how so many commenters act as if they know what happened or have all the facts about the situation understood yet none of them were there to witness the event.
Thank you !!!
ESP
Yup, even shows alot about that persons character with some comments
biketothetop Karen’s can’t help themselves
@@ByronLee1986 Yes lack of character, sound logic, and substance is a common social theme among too many!
good work EMT
Oh god she’s awake...Poor thing. Glad she’s ok though
Those ICC bumpers were installed to prevent that kind of 'roll under' accident. Either super excessive speed by car, or faulty ICC bumper, as it folded .
I have never seen one that prevented the vehicle from going under. Maybe they are designed to give way. idk Lucky lady
It’s called a Mansfield Bar after Jane Mansfield was killed. Mariska Hargitay was a child asleep on the floor of the convertible when it happened. If you look at her face, you can see the scars
Yeah at high enough speed those quote/unquote bumpers aren't stopping anything.
If your not there you don’t know anything about fault so stop judging. Thank you to all the first responders.
She is in critical conditiosns
I drove truck for 19 years before I retired for medical reasons,in that time two different people ended up under my trailer fortunately only with minor injuries but one 17 year old pulled out in front of me and stopped when he realized his mistake.unfortunately he passed before they could finish cutting him out of the car so please be extra careful around big trucks
Hope she recovers. A few months ago this happened to a former classmates father who ended up passing about 2 weeks later. So devastating to see😥
she's lucky to still have a head attached
She must have been going 100+ too...given that the truck was doing 55+
@@apophismedina6075 Lucky she didn't decapitate herself.
Or...the truck was stopping g or stopped already for traffic and she was looking at her phone or something. We may never know.
Hopefully she is good.
Hopefully the truck driver is not tramatized from this ordeal and can continue to where he headed. 🙏❤️
It 'looks' like the semi was parked between the freeway and the exit ramp in the 'V' of the white lines. Since it was very early morning, he was probably taking a nap, idling with the parking lights on. She was either dopey or distracted and didn't realize the truck wasn't actually moving. I pray she makes a full recovery. Good job firefighters and EMT's and CHP
The driver of the Semi-truck stated he was driving Southbound when he felt the jolt of the crash. He pulled over after seeing the sparks fly from his rear view window.
I know that girl we use to work together i just found out 😢 thank God she is Alive
When you see the firefighter you know that they are going to work hard to make you safe on scene. Pull you out of the rebel and hand you over to the emt.
Wow this is so sad .
How in the hell did she not see the back of the truck she's lucky she was not killed
Does anyone know if she made it and what her injuries are
Imagine how much worse it would have been if the truck hadn't been moving.
God damm .!! But good viedos man keep it up
Prayers
Most trucker drivers are paid by the mile, please don't do this to them. Pay attention, don't drink or text!
@@apophismedina6075 That's messed up.
This is terrifying as it could happen to anyone including myself. And good bless these cops, firefighters and paramedics. I am not sure I could do their job. But I also questioned the bumper at the back of the trailer aka ICC bumper. Why did it collapse? Was it faulty, broken or worn out? Or was she going so fast that the bumper was unable to absorb the impact? Since this occurred in the middle of the night I am thinking maybe the fell asleep at the wheel. But I am also afraid she may have been drunk. I would appreciate some input. Is there an input on the driver? If so please advise. Thanks!!!
It gives you health in a bravo 💪💪💪👏👏🌷🌷🌷
Porque siempre la ambulancia abierta? Es cargar y llevar?
Can’t they pull the car back a little or the truck forward. Isn’t this doing it the hard way🤔
That can cause more damage to the patient
Talk to the person and keep them awake
Yes, awake,& calm! 🙏
What's an SIG ALERT? Sorry I've never heard of it. Prayers that she's making a complete recovery. This happened to some of my family, 4 in the car but the hang down metal on back of tractor trailer caught the car so they weren't all the way under thank goodness.
good job guys 😇👊👊
Damn those trucks are hard. Don’t hit one!
Ppl always get too close behind trailers i seen that before thats y theirs a sign in back ppl to stay away atleast 10 ft all trailers have that
Why so many comments about the bumper?
Was it supposed to FLASH or something to indicate it's presence?
Was it supposed send a text to the lady, "watch out you're coming up on me @ 1200"?
Was it supposed to send an electronic signal to lady's braking system and stop her car before crashing?
I don't see how anyone would have survived in the front seat, especially driver's side.
Had to be texting. ...sad sad...I pray she is okay
At 3am she was probably drunk, or fell asleep.
Apophis Medina get a life ... all you have been doing is bashing her and commenting on other comments no one asked for your opinion or thoughts on this low life
Apophis Medina ur rlly stupid af you probably don’t even have a car
Distracted driving, Drunk driving, either way her life is over, traumatic brain injury if she survives. The truck driver will live with this forever.
This happened to me. I was sober...it was raining..the semi was parked and i was drifting around it. The open diff took over trying to link the spot and i slid into the rear passenger side corner of the semi trailer pinning the 240sx underneath on the front passenger side. I backed up the car and got help popping the windsheild off to drive it home as is. The entire roof was caved in from the passenger side a pillar and pushed back bending the b pillar. Not a single scratch on me. I show people pictures and tell the story and most want to shove God in my face. I dont feel like there was an angel watching over me or god was looking out for me. The weird thing is i had made up a story for family and neighbors and insurance about the incident and the fabricated story was that a semi truck had cut me off right at this exact same location on the 805 and telegraph and i slammed on my brakes but ended up underneath the truck. The driver unaware kept driving and my car was left crushed on the highway. Literally the story i made up with location of freeway and even the upcoming exit street telegraph was the same as the one in this video. People still argue me that it was god protecting me but i dont have such beliefs
3AM on the freeway accident? I wonder why. I hope she’s doing better but how can you miss a semi truck like that on a 4 lane freeway?
There is something about the back of semi trailers that turn them into magnets.
This happens more often than is known.
Not really, it’s just more devastating than a car bumper
@@ronj9933 What draws the cars into the back of them?
Any updates on the driver ?
Look at first comment... She passed away unfortunately.
Karen Holmes Don't always look at the comments because I'm still alive
@@abigailbenitez2819
Was that you ? How are you doing sweety ?
Calamity Jayne I'm doing good I broke both my hands my spinal cord which left me paralyzed I'm still in the hospital though soon to be out.
@@abigailbenitez2819
Glad to hear your doing good. How are your spirits holding up ? You sound good.
mansfield bar???
It’s there, just bent. Made me wonder how fast she was going when she made impact.
@@DugDug_SD That trailer's "MANSFIELD BAR" did it's job. Normally it's vertical, 2' below the lip of the trailer...her car pushed in flat up against the bottom of the trailer. She was literally saved by inches.
trailer bars in this country should stop a car and time and time again slide all the way under
i guess between the trailer maker and DOT they like seeing this!?! till it happens to their family maybe something will change
i hope she is ok
Whats a sig alert? Shes really bad. Thats very traumatic. I hit the windshield and ive been traumatized ever since.
Puncture the tires of the car to give you extra inches to make the recovery easier
How does that happen?
Car was speeding maybe distracted drunk who knows she must have been going at a high rate of speed to cause that kind of damage and wedge her car under a moving semi
I think my next car is going to be a Ford Fusion.
Doug looks like a bad one.
Prayfully people will be ok
Did anyone realize, it could of been a health problem.. so quick to judge...
That's rarely the case. Quit being an idiot.
@@beccas.7762 no BECKY.
U need to have humanity.. I guess u were there at the scene.. just saying..
@Jayme dawn you think someone getting hurt so bad, is worth my time to u.. as the saying goe's " U CANT FIX STUPID.
Why cant u use ur whole name?? That's what real people do.
Hiding for some reason...
They didn’t keep 6 feet apart
More truckers need to assure they activate their 4-way hazard lights, day or night, when they are going slower than flow of traffic (that trucker could have activated those after the collision, don't know). I've seen trucks at night with no tail lamps at all activated, perhaps an overlooked cable connection. Hopefully this truck at least had tail lamps activated on the trailer. I have seen heavy trucks going 30 MPH up the SR52 or on I-8 past Alpine, without any hazards activated--very dangerous.
I don’t understand how this always happens. There are so many bad drivers.
They are Running from all of the Inner Turmoil that is inside them. You see it on the roads everyday.
Alcohol or cell phone use.
Box up their things
Tow car out from back?
this is why truckers are not allowed to park on the shoulder of the road unless its a medical or mechanical emergency because of accident like this.
He was moving when she crashed into him
Califirnia, especially san diego drivers are so wreckless drivers.
Ppl drive awful in San Diego. VERY AWFUL COMPARED TO ARIZONA. 😣😥SOMETIMES WRECKLESS DRIVERS ENDANGERS THE LIFES OF OTHERS..
Alcohol a factor, sleepy, distracted? Any evidence of alcohol at the scene Doug?
Truck moving along at 60-70 MPH. Car comes along at 100 MPH +. The end result, the truck driver will be treated like this was his fault. He will probably lose his job for sure, & will create CSA Scoring Points for himself & his company & be sued by the motorist & their family for existing in the first place.
Chula Vista
Always wondered why not pull the rig forward after that to help expedite extraction ??
The vehicle was lodged behind the trailer. The driver was literally dragging the vehicle until he made a complete stop.
Perhaps moving the car more could injure her further, maybe better to keep her still or preventing her legs from getting trapped? Hope she makes it.
CVFD💓
Crash guard did not work. Look for the NHTSA test on trailer crash guards. Some are very effective, others are not worth jack.
How????
I think thats you with the low iq
I've been trying to find an update on the woman's condition. Does anyone know?
We need to pray for her she is in critical conditions
@@sandiego6085 gracias mujer que dios te bendiga
A co-worker on here said that she passed away unfortunately. Pray for her family. So sad.
Was anyone else in the car what about the cat
No me alegro del mal de nadie pero si si no pasan x esas no aprenden a manejar como personas sibilisadas son unos animales en las carreteras x eso esq les pasa lo q Les pasa
Don't drive in flips flops, keep your distance. And pay attention:(
Meybe now she learns to stop texting and speeding
Ever think that she wasnt texting ?
Dont follow the semis. I see this a lot. Cars following the semis and not giving a good amount of space. Insurance fraud is not worth your lifes.
Driving on the shoulder in the middle of the night when there is absolutely no traffic?
what’s a SIG alert?
Sigalert is defined by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) as "any unplanned event that causes the closing of one lane of traffic for 30 minutes or more". Caltrans uses the term "SigAlert" and defines it as any traffic incident that will tie up two or more lanes of a freeway for two or more hours.
Jennifer Flewelling thanks
@@ilovemystepson6109 I thought it stood for "Stay In Garage".
Named after Loyd Sigmon. He invented an automated radio broadcast system to share traffic conditions in the 50’s. The term Sig Alert is named after him.
I was wondering the same thing,& I was scrolling in comments to see if someone would ask or mention.
You will have to tow that car
She was trying to re enact the fast and the furious scene!
Tacky comment! U wont say this if she was your relative or friend now would u? A**
nao gosto quando esconde as imagems pois a gente assessa este conteudo para ver completo e nao so bunda de bombeiro ok
probably was on her phone
CHURCH !!!!!!!!🤔
Lucky they didn't go right under.
Wow..so lucky..just caught a glimpse of him on the car.. good luck to the emergency team..💛
That's a pretty good lawsuit for her, the semi doesnt have the mandated guards that would keep the car from going under like that.
You obviously don't know what you are looking at. The ICC bumper was there, she just pushed it all the way up under the trailer, that shows you how fast she was going to cause that much damage. She can forget a law suit, and just thank God she lived through it. Most people in that kind of accident usually die. So pray for her instead of thinking law suit.
She's very lucky to be alive.
@@truckerray9634 I dont see it??
@@SavageBunny1 at the end, from the passenger side. It's up between the car and trailer. All trailers have the ICC bar, for this very reason.
@@wendy833 Damn she destroyed that, I guess it's only a 35mph bar, even at that speed I read it's still a 50/50 chance it will help, it needs to be redesigned.
@@wendy833
Good eye Wendy, you knew what you were looking at. I don't know how anybody else could think she had a lawsuit, she just flat wasn't paying attention to the road. I hope she's ok.

Where is this
Schaeffer's
Following to closely, semi brake checked her is my guess.
Dont assume that
Please don't assume that. My husband is a truck driver and he would never do that. He is too busy watching out for all the idiots that cut right in front of him and then slam on their brakes etc.
How quickly do you think a semi can stop?
Wouldn’t it be easier to pull out the car from behind with the Fire truck? Just saying!!!!
I think that would risk hurting the patient
