I have a very large collection of tapes. In the last few years, I find myself going through my boxes, and pulling older tapes out, to make room for these Washi Tape creations!
I have a ton of washi from The Washi Tape shop (beautiful supplies they have!) and I use it for my journaling. It never crossed my mind to use it in card making. Thank you for the ideas!
Thank you for this video, Justine. As soon as I watched it I ordered some PET tapes from them and they just arrived! They are gorgeous and I can hardly wait to make some cards using them! Cheers and Congratulations on your new wee family member, from 🇨🇦Calgary, Alberta🇨🇦
These are good ideas for the wider nice washi tape. I have a lot that are narrower so most of these just aren't going to do the trick. Beautiful cards and nice to see your die cut process to do a batch of card experiments. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing the idea for using the washi tape. I got so many washi tapes because they’re so beautiful, I am going to use your idea to use the washi tape from now on.
Beautiful! I do have tapes from this company, they are the best I’ve ever seen. Years later their tape is still exactly where I put it, but still removable! The backing liner really makes all the difference. Thanks for the ideas!
Hi. Thank you for sharing your lovely cards. There's a lot there to digest, lots of tips and ideas to the point where I'm a little overwhelmed so I'll need to watch your video again. I do have a bit of a stack of washi tape and have struggled with it in the past as it always needed to be glued to make it permanently adhere to the cardstock and thanks to you I now have a better insight on using it more successfully. Thanks again and have a great day.😊
Thank you! I’ve always been frustrated with Washie because it doesn’t stay long on my projects. It’s good to know there are some that will stay stuck to your project. Your cards are gorgeous!
Your assembly line method is so doggone handy!! I had no idea that washi had been produceded with such incrediblely beautiful options. Thank you for sharing these possibilities!!
The washy tape is absolutely beautiful. I haven’t used washy tape in years, but I have a stash somewhere in my room. I love that they come with the back or strip with them. They look so easy to use and everyone of the tapes that you show I loved, and would use over and over again on projects. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for inspiring me to pull out my old washy tapes! Hopefully I can turn them into beautiful cards like you made - always grateful for your sharing!
@Justine Hovey • Justine: You did a great job demonstrating all the different varieties of Washi tape. The different backgrounds you created are inspiring. And, I might add, faster and less messy than a lot of ink blending or smooshing or gel plates. Great tip on how to "mass produce your die cuts.
You have done the best job ever of explaining the washi tapes for me. I ordered several but was still unclear of the particulars. Thanks for the clarity.
This is the one paper crafting item I have never really been interested in. This companies tape is stunning. So many options. I found beautiful asian inspired tape and others that I gave your code a workout. Thank you. Looking forward to using this tape.
Wow! So many terrific ideas, thanks so very much! 👏🏻👏🏻😀🧑🏼🎨. I think many of us have stashes of washi tape for sure! I am inspired to go dig it out later today and play a bit. My favorites are with matte finishes, I do not care for the shiny finish. I also have a number of the washi tapes from a company that have coordinating dies/stamps. This has given me incentive to pull them out again… I got really bored with them before, despite them being quite beautiful. I recognize that I need to get over the guilt that using these is not ‘cheating’ because everything on the card isn’t made from scratch!! Golly, we can be tough in ourselves 🙄.
I really like the cards and ideas for the wide washi tape that you did here but I don't have much of that kind. Do you think you can do a video with ideas for the narrow washi tape that many of us also have?
At this point in time I don’t think I have much of the standard half inch washi but I’ll add it to my list :) aside from stripes / striped backgrounds I’m not sure how much more I could add apart from the video here. I’ll do my best to get something done in the new year
This is totally awesome. I never knew washi had all these varieties of textures and shapes. Love your inspirational ideas. Mixing the washi and diecutes. Was that PV tape? Im not sure if Im saying it right. Im saying it right 😂 I love washi ...and bought the Altenew Wide washi based on your video 4 yrs ago. It's like a rekindling a long forgotten. Thanks for always introducing new and reminding us what we have in our stash and including the previous videos. I can not say enough how you ROCK❤
Quick question ..where do you get your pre-made card bases from? I would love that so I don't have to do a the cutting to make card bases! Also how do I join your vip club?
My issue with PET tape is that it's so SHINY. Applied to darker colors, it makes the border look even darker. When I use it in a collage card, I think the shine detracts from the harmony of the card. I've tried knocking it back with clear gesso or matte medium (which usually takes a few layers) before applying it, but that's not great when the design elements should be shiny, just not the border around the tape, and it's time consuming. I can trim it off simple closed curves, but not things like detailed florals. I like washi stickers on white or light backgrounds, where they fade into the background well. I do not like white borders around images, particularly when clustered.
UGH! I can’t stand when the tape has aged and just tears and tears and tears!!! I had NO IDEA that would ever happen and bought all, a lot, of my washi tape at the same time. I have the worst time with Dyan Reavleys from Ranger!!! Drives me absolutely insane! This is brilliant and saves your investment! There’s no way I could replace all I bought, but I’m not buying any unless it’s from this company! I’m yanks a Justine! I wish there were more videos on washi tape!
I wouldn't call that transfer tape- transfer tape is something you lay over the top to transfer it to your project. This is just a backing paper which is still awesome but people new to washi might be confused when you call it transfer tape 😉. They have some beautiful things....
Thanks for sharing your experience with the washi tape company. I’m skeptical about adds on instagram too. Now I feel more comfortable considering a purchase from them
Great ideas! TFS.
Very pretty cards.
I love your cards and all your ideas. Now I just have to put them to use!😳
I have a very large collection of tapes. In the last few years, I find myself going through my boxes, and pulling older tapes out, to make room for these Washi Tape creations!
Great ideas on using Washi tape that I've never seen before. Love all of your cards.
Great ideas to have! I enjoyed your demo.
I love the WashiTapeShop! I regularly place an order with them. They have pretty washi tapes!

Awesome ideas for washi tape!!
WOW! This is amazing! Very creative! I have a bunch of washi tape, but not like these. Thanks for sharing.
Love the one using nesting dies!
Thank you, this was inspiring.

I just found this company! Waiting for my first order to arrive. Much appreciate your hacks video! Perfect timing!
Terrific tutorials! Thanks.

Great ideas.
Great ideas - I'm definitely going to check this out. Note: PVC is not acid free so for card making ok but I wouldn't use for scrapbooking.
Lots of great ideas. Thank you for sharing 😊🤗

Love your ideas! I have so many washi tapes. It's refreshing to see how you used it and your production line of making cards. Like that idea!
I love all these ideas, and love your card process for this! You made so many cards with fun washi!
love the washi tape video... you are quite talented!!
I have ordered from them before and their Washi Tapes are absolutely gorgeous and of high quality!
Beautiful 😍

In love with the hello beautiful card. Wow
Wow! I had no idea you could do that with Washi Tape! Thanks

Hi Justine. What an awesome video. Thanks so much. 😊🇨🇦
Great ideas and tips, Justine. I need to look at my stash of wash tape. I love the pet tape.
Great ideas! Thank you now I have a new use for my Washi tape collection! ❤

I pulled out my washi tape and made a couple of Christmas Cards yesterday because of this video. Forgotten items.... found!!
Quick question
..where do you get your pre-made card bases from? I would love that so I don't have to do a the cutting to make card bases! Also how do I join your vip club?
how do I find the spellbinders spring green storage metal die diamond shape foam thing? LOVE your videos, every one.
I have the white one linked in the description. Not sure if the green one is even around still
Do you think you could use washing tape on paper lanterns, or would the wire coils in the lantern make too uneven of a surface? Thanks!
Justine, what is the glue you are using for the fine die cuts please? And is it in some sort of applicator? Thank you!
Nuvo deluxe adhesive. Same as I always use. The holder is the glue precision press that I’m testing out for a future review video
What glue are you using please? And you make such beautiful cards
Normal Nuvo deluxe adhesive. If you mean the tool it’s the Glue Precision from My Sweet Petunia that I’ve been testing out
Beautiful cards! What brand of glue gun are you using?
It’s called the glue precision press. Not a glue gun that heats up but rather a glue holder. Review is coming in decembern

What is your glue gun mechanism & glue?
❤️❤️❤️

What kind of glue do you use with your cards?
I use Nuvo deluxe adhesive or tombow mono (both liquid) lasts way longer I find than tapes
@@justinehovey thank you :)
Oh man!! I also loved stickers as a kid & STILL have a sticker fetish. And I'm 57!! What's up with that??? 😆😆😆
Haha stickers are so fun!!!! I adore them

its The Washi Tape Shop!! Not company
Too much washi tape? Then don’t buy so much 🤷♀️
Thanks for sharing your experience with the washi tape company. I’m skeptical about adds on instagram too. Now I feel more comfortable considering a purchase from them
Thanks for sharing this. I too have seen them on Instagram and wondered if they were legit! ❤❤ these results
