This is so angering… such a horrible thing to betray a woman who does so much and sacrifices so much 😢

Sorry to hear that and I agree with you the trad life doesn’t make any sense unless you are a man who wants to use and abuse a woman and cheat on her all without any consequences. Good on you for having had enough of it at some point! I know sometimes it is strange how much we endure and then it’s a ‚small’ cherry on top of everything else that gets us out of it. Must have been hard when he divorced you and probably blamed it on you. But just to let you know it was a blessing in disguise because you are still young and glowing, you are beautiful and it’s great he can’t mistreat you anymore.
Women were brainwashed into thinking trad life is the only one that fulfills them, couldn’t be more far from reality

I am so thankful that I didn't follow the church's teachings on marriage and being a trad wife. There are just too many stories of women (including my own mother) who ended up in horribe marriages with toxic people because the church pushed marriage without following up with important details like giving consent, finding a partner that was respectful or helpful, or even finding a partner that had good qualities beyond just religious ones. It's so ridiculous that your ex-husband felt emboldened to even ask that of you. I wish the Mormon church would actually take responsibility for all of the broken women who end up in poverty or worse because their teaching empower men to treat them like commodities. I'm glad you got out, and I hope you have a much better life now.

Like my friend says, "men are gods and women are goods" in Christian nationalism.

I'm so sorry that you and your family went through this. I hope that you don't think I'm being too forward but I think telling your story on Cults to Consciousness would be really wonderful.

It's not giving up eternal family or salvation just to divorce a man. That's a misunderstanding. If he's cheating, he gave that up and not the wife. The woman is still endowed, still promised blessings. Also, it's weird that you're so obsessed with Hannah Neeleman. It's condescending that you assume she's doing it just for him. The things you speak of aren't true among all members. In fact, it very much flies in the face of what's actually taught most intensely, especially by the majority of leaders and the highest of leadership. They very much preach something very different. And polygamy being practiced, outside a man marrying another wife after his first wife dies (which is normal for anyone in society), is something that will totally get someone excommunicated from the mainstream church. I even have a friend who got exed just for going on a polygamist podcast despite never having practiced or even expressing she wanted to.
