Super vid. I say again, I love that you get into the guts of the basics of S1. A lot of people only want to tell you about the sexy gear. But in the practical world, knowing these basics well makes a huge difference.

Yes, it definitely pays to have as much knowledge as you can about the DAW you are using!

Another good one, thanks. I've learned a couple of things I didn't know.
An additional piece of information which you might already be aware of. There's no need to move a control on an instrument in order to be able to automate it. If you just click the control you'll see its name appear in the Control Link area at the upper left of the Studio One window. You can then set up automation in the way you show in the video for an event, or you can click and drag the hand onto the track to record or draw automation anywhere on the track even if there is no event there.
The benefit of clicking a control rather than adjusting it is that with some controls it might be tricky getting it back to exactly the original sound. If it's a preset, of course, you can just click the next then previous preset arrows, for those VSTs that have them. The built-in S1 instruments and effects all respond to clicking and so do all of the third-party VSTs I've tried so far.

You're really good with institutional videos. 👍🏽 what helped you choose studio one as your daw of choice?

Well, I have to say aesthetics play a big role in this - call me shallow. Haha. I need to feel good about the interface I'm looking at, as we can spend a lot of screen time with the DAW we end up choosing. S1 just makes me feel like I want to spend time with it and get creative.
I think its got a good work-flow, as well. The included effects are excellent, in my opinion. You can master within it, if you'd like. They seem to listen to the requests for features from their user-base, and on and on...
Hope this answers your question! Thanks for watching the vids, MB.

Excellent overview of Midi Editing (all four parts). Thank you! I have been trying to figure out how to combine the midi notes in two events into one (i.e. copy the notes of one event to the other so that I have one event with all notes) on two different tracks. Specifically, I have two Viola tracks in Studio One, each with concurrent events (same start and stop time). I'd like to combine the into one event on one track to simplify my arranging. I imported the viola tracks into Studio One from a midi file that I exported from my notation software package. Can you offer any inisght into how to do this in Studio One 5 Professional? Thank you.

12:40 Is it possible to draw just one sawtooth or sine expression instead of so many?
