I'm a huge fan of this new design of Sonic! Changes just enough to look like his own thing, but close enough to the original design to be recognizable!

@@NoNamex1412 I think he looks really cool ! It feels a bit odd because we're so used to either black or green eyes, but his super form eyes are red so I think it works ! His color scheme is marvelous-

This feels like a 3D rendition of Sonic Rush on the DS with a hint of Jet Set Radio… I like it.
You know this looks more like a 3D version of rivals, it's the closest in both geometry and visual asthetic given the detailed but low poly style, love this and rivals style, looks so clean

I also never got to play the old demo so that'll be neat to check out, but I am SO PUMPED FOR THE TESTFIRE!
EDIT: After playing the game all day yesterday and today, I can definitely say this is all of what I’ve been asking for when it comes to 3D Sonic for a long time now. It has the potential to be my favorite Sonic game period. I need to play more of the game, probably have to play the entire game once it’s completed to fully make that call, but the potential this game has is through moon!
So far I am incredibly impressed with the game 8/10.main issues for me are the aggressive shading on his acceleration blur and some camera issues.out side of those you have my full attention and support dudebropersons!
Just finished the demo.
I really dig the artstyle, sound design and voice acting a lot, but I kinda found some issues with the gameplay:
The physics are interesting, but really need getting used to. While the game recommends you to play with the gamepad (In a really funny and cool cutscene), the joystick sensitivity makes it hard to run in a straight line.
Also I personally found the level design to be quite confusing:
There's barely any indication on where you're supposed to go next. There was that one time before the end of the level where the path split, but the most obvious path led me to a dead end, while the least obvious one led me to the end of the stage.
The pits are not indicated in any way (they look like any other level geometry), which led to some cheap deaths. There was even a part where I could walk on one surface, but a surface like two feet below was a pit.
There were also times when I accidentally backtrack, but the ring trails that are necessary to progress further are gone (I think for those instances you could implement empty ring trails similar to the ones in Shadow The Hedgehog).
But overall, it is quite interesting, and really looking forward to see this project completed!
(also is this game will always have 4:3 aspect ratio or 16:9 option will be implemented at some point? just curious :V)

man I'm impressed! this fangame is very good, even though it has a PS1 style it is very fast, well made and fluid, especially when it comes to an open world game basically, one of the things that surprised me the most was the fluidity of the gameplay and the movement of Sonic that reminded me a bit of Jet Set Radio, I think it's more of an inspiration for Sonic Frontiers haha but seriously, if this fangame is already good with the PS1 style, imagine with other styles like the 3DS or even the PS5

More of a psp style, low texture cashe with a CD audio soundtrack and a much better rendering engine. While also having some crunchy audio to fit on the CD better.

@@charliekahn4205 not quite, the rendering system is far more simplistic on the psp to mainly save on power. As such, the video ram is smaller, at a measly 2mb. Whereas the ps2 has double that of the psp, and a rendering pipeline that allowed for higher texture resolutions and higher polys. Not to mention the average psp game needed to be compressed as the diskette size is significantly smaller than the larger ps2 disks.
Game looks dope can't wait to check it out.

I recently tried this game out. While the controls are fun to use, unfortunately I wasn't able to use my controller for some reason so I had to use a keyboard instead. Good game though ^^
the way that last skit is animated reminds me so much of sonic riders' style
I love this so far and everything feels amazing in game. Can't wait to see more! I might even try speed running it.

Played the demo, loved it. Only one major issue that i can remember having multiple times is how sensitive the light-speed dash is/inconsistent it can be. I don't know if the solution would just be to give ring trails designated endpoints, where you'd have to input again to start a new one (currently thinking about the two ring trails near the end of the level on the overground path), or to just shrink the distance that sonic can be from rings before being able to do the dash.
That, and how there were multiple times where I'd start a light-speed dash thinking I'd go one direction, but sonic would turn nearly 180 degrees and follow the rings in the opposite direction (sometimes to my death).
Wow. Just found this via another channel and I am quite impressed! This looks to be an amazing game!

In all gameplay and official art I've seen Sonic's eyes are green, but in the end credit scene here they're red ! I wanna make fanart and I get anxiety trying to get the characters exactly right so I'd like to know... what's his eye color in the end ?

Honestly that Sonic icon and design looks like Crash Bandicoot.
I like the game and aesthetic, i would love to see this as a full game.
Now onto the nitpicks:
-controls are a bit janky here and there, mainly on the homing attack and especially on the rails
-the camera needs a bit more work, especially the smart cam, it sorta messes up your homing if you need to aim hard to your side after one homing attack
-levels need a bit more guiding to know on where to go, a lot of the areas are very "i can go here but theres an eventual wall cuz everything looks like you can go there" design
-part of the janky control, a bit better maneuverability when going slow and fast would be nice, and a better speed up on the startup (really the respawn on the time trial literally forces you to attempt a homing attack or drop dash because the small uphill makes sonic not wanna go up
on the plus side, i like the mechanics and the speed pickup on a "drop dash" you can do, as well as the aesthetics, though a v-sync option would be nice cuz i have a lot of screen tearing.
