- She comes out of the dressing room we improvised for her upstairs, she goes down a narrow staircase. People live their life, as we asked them to. She walks a few meters, goes to the bar, and chats with those leaning against the counter. A man tries to flirt with her. She smiles, takes her drink, and walks slowly to the Rhodes waiting for her at the other end of the General Counter room. You can hear the sound of conversation, glasses clattering. She sits down, we're close to getting dizzy. Because we know nothing of what is going to happen, we know nothing in the end about this woman, what she is thinking, what she is going to do, and that everything is now in her hands.

I'm in awe with this video. It's the squeaks, the murmurs, the blurry shots, the lack of artificial amplification, the silences, and the unexpectedness and tension of it being channeled through the performance of a global superstar. How Alicia's music sounds when paired back to a Rhodes and a Bass is unbelievable. It sounds like it was always meant to be presented this way. I'm in awe with the production quality and love with which this was put together. Merci Blogothèque :)
