Nothing demonic about Manson's response. He is making fun of what he sees as the "stupidity" of the questioner asking him who he is. This grandiosity about ones self is quite common in sociopaths. Everyone else is inferior (and thusly stupid, etc) and the sociopath is superior.
In all fairness though, she DID come specifically to interview HIM lol.... That was a stupid question, but most interviewers did try to wind him up and make him look crazier than he was.
Yup. Manson was crazy, but also not. He was crazy enough to be deranged and incite violence, but he was still sane enough to function and to manipulate people. Just because he had unnaturally wide eyes that made him look nuts didn't mean he was incapable of thinking straight enough to plan and manipulate.

Source? His behaviour doesn't ring true of schizophrenics. Also, catatonia renders a person unable to respond to inquiry. Additionally, catatonia is very rare in schizophrenia and is more frequent in mood disorders, such as bipolar, uni- or monopolar, major depressive disorder and schizoeffective disorder. If you have a source for that claim, I'd love to watch the video of it. He was arrested & claimed his innocence until his trial was to begin. There was a mountain of proof by that time. He finally admitted his guilt & in court described everything he had done to her. It was absolutely horrifying. Her parents requested that the death penalty would not be seeked. It's not what Lauren would of wanted. He will be in prison for the rest of his life. The guy that said in his tv interview, "body?". "Yep, I'm screwed." Manson was both completely insane and absolutely fascinating (psychologically speaking).

A number of them replied they didn't care about him, they were concerned about his followers staying in jail. It was very interesting to hear people's reactions and commentary after his passing.
