Really like the apes. That’s what I will be getting for my Street Bob. Thx for the vid. 👍🏼
I have had these bars in my dyna for the last three rears. I love them and they are amazingly comfortable and feel so natural with hand position.
Great to know the quality is solid after running them for 3 years 👍
Great to see you again, for me chunky apes that aren’t too tall are what the FXBB is all about, standard mini apes are awful but once changed and a nice 2-1 TBR its great, yes I have the same set up however I am the most critical of my own efforts so if I can honestly say they work and look great I mean it....I just need the cam now 😉
Just bought a 2020 street bob and really love watching your channel and thinking of getting the same bars now that I have seen them on your bike.
I really can't fault the bars hey, they're great value for money considering brands like burleigh bars are near 3 times the price
I have 14" road 6 customs on mine and love them. 2016 street bob
Looks awesome , love the Bars.
I have the same bike, but I turned my factory bars towards the front of the bike a bit. I want to get ape hangers as I had 16 1/2 inch apes on my Dyna wide glide and loved my hand positioning. I found it was very comfortable for me.
Those bare look good. Thanks for the video bro. Be safe out there !
Looks great and comfortable, been waiting 2 months longer than expected for my Bob, hopefully by Xmas. Pretty informative channel.
Thanks mate 👍
I do like the new bars, they look really good. I am more of a T-bar person myself, as I ride with the Lucky Dave's Lucky 13 bars. I found that out after going with a tall Z-bar initially, but there just wasn't enough pull back for me even with adjusting the bars by loosening clamp like yours and it put me into a weird forward leaning position that hurt my back. So a T-bar with a pullback to it was super comfortable to me. But as long as you like the new bars and they are comfortable for you that's all that really matters.
Your bike sounds so nice with that cam .
Love the new bars! Been thinking of getting rid of the stock bars. Great video my friend!
Thanks mate 👍
DNA's man, they're where it's at, for sure! Enjoyed the vid. Subbed :)
Thanks mate, appreciate you subbing 👍
Bike looks badass with the new bars!
Sick video sick editing, glad I found this. Purchased the same today just chrome.
Thanks man, they're sick bars. By far my favourite of the three bars I've had on the bike.
Aha so these are the ones you finally got, wow very nice bars (in my opinion they are way better looking than the other bars). Keep up those great videos 👍
Thanks mate, will do. Still have plenty left I'd like to do to the bike 👍
Love them bars mate👍
Looks great bro!! Beautiful bike.
Thanks Mike 🍻
I'll be getting those! ..thanks for the input
Thanks for the advice I’m definitely gonna give them ago on my street bob 2024 Nice 😊
OMG these bars look awesome , mate!!!!
Cheers man, I love the look and feel of them 👌
The Gingybeard Man so awesome they sound comfortable and look a hell of a lot better
Best handle bars for the street bob, looks great men. 😎
Thanks Eddy, I'm stoked with how they look 👌
They look great bro, I was watching your earlier video where you had the risers and drag bars and I was thinking of heading down that road. I currently have 14” fused apes and they’re a little uncomfortable on longer rides. But I love this look a lot more. I think the 12” bars will give me that perfect riding position. Love your videos bro
Thanks man. I like my arms to sit just below shoulder height for comfort, so 12 inches was perfect for my height and reach 👍
I like them, almost like mine, would look good with or without fairing.
New style is so dope :O
Huge improvement over the last bars. Great work.
You're quickly becoming my first point of reference for everything Street Bob!
Also, please start wearing gloves! My OH&S OCD is going crazy! 😁😁😁
Thanks man 👍
yep I agree, I've really gotta start wacking on some gloves. I want to buy some mx gloves as it's hard to turn the gopro on and off with winter gloves on.
Dissolving of your hands on the road is a long process to recover from. That's if you can use them properly again.
Looks sick mate, i get my 2020 Street bob in a few weeks.. Was thinking about the same bars for mine
Your set up now looks awesome don't change it haha 🤟👍
Thanks mate, there's still a few things I'd like to change, keen to get a 21 inch front wheel and wrap around front fender 👍
Yea that would look shit hot mate, there are always things we want to change haha it never end's
Good Video , I like them allot !
Just bought 10in apes for my low rider s...can’t wait to try them out
Nice man, they'll look the goods 👍
I like these better than the T-bars. Im going to get some apes like this. Thanks for sharing. Bike looks nice!
Thanks mate 🙌
Looks great!!!
Cheers Dave, I'm really happy with them 👍
Much better-looking setup than the T-Bar in my opinion. Looking tight!
I agree man, these bars are great value for money.
Hi mate, hope all good. The apehanger looks a lot better than the T-bar. But still prefer my Hollywood bar 😁.
Today I’ll get my stage 2 installed 😎. Cheers mate.
Definitively like the ape hangers & no fearing better... way better.
I've a '20 fxbb. Was looking at HD fused ape hangers but, I dig these bars man.
✌
Man I love your bike! Slowly making my way through the list! I’m so stuck on which bars to get pushing towards these sort of bars I reckon! Keep it up man love watching your videos! Should do some group ride vlogs!?
Thanks for following the channel mate, appreciate your support. I definantly plan on doing some group ride vlogs in the future 🤙🤙
The Gingybeard Man can’t wait for them videos to come out! Did you do a install video at all for the new bars?
Looks great
Thanks man 🙌
I LOVE IT, THATS THE REAL I GET ONE FOR MY STREET BOB 2019
Looks tough brother keep the fairing off it 🤙🤙🤙😍😍
Will be keeping it off Nath, I sold the fairing the other day 👍
Much better look for the bob, you should get cruise control for her, it's really an underrated mod for these girls
I like the look of those bars way better, hell they would look good on my new Iron 1200
Bike looks and sounds great !!! New bars look good without the windshield. I love that you do your own work on your own bike.
My street bob is pretty stock, but Im definitely looking for new suspension because after 4-6 hours ride the stock monoshitt is like a brick.
Would love to see your opinion on suspension selection process and installation.
Much love from California , keep putting miles on it !!!
Thanks mate, I weigh 80 kgs and had my suspension set to suit my weight as per the manual. I personally didn't find any issues with comfort but it certainly could be the case if you weigh more then me and havn't adjusted the suspension per the manual.
Was in the same position. I've changed the preload setting and bought tall boy seat from Harley. That's solved the problem
Thanks for info. Nice rear fender much better than the throw away stock . Later
Sick as Fawk !
I must say I like those bars on the bike the best.
I agree Rob, I much prefer these bars 👍
Installed DNA 12 inch bars finally. Didn't unpin connections lube an sent them thru . Bike lit up with no gremlins. What a difference the DNA bars make. Thank you for you help.
Good stuff mate, you had more luck with the wiring then me, lube sounds like the trick 🙌
What's the inside width at the bottom of the bars?
What's the inside width at the bottom of the bars?
Zbars are my favorite.
Man you beat me to the punch !!! I just ordered these 2 days ago! Hahah man they look so good im happy I got these over t bars. Looks going to go perfect with my 124 build. If you don't mind me asking what wires dod you have to extend? Do you have a link to the wires you ordered ?
Here's the link to the extensions I purchased. I didn't need to lengthen the throttle by wire or the indicator wiring.

@@TheGingybeardMan Cheers Mate.
Great video as usual! Now that you have had these for a while are you still happy with the 12” rise? I’m in the process of shopping for apes, looking at the 2” Burleigh highballs for my 2019 Fatboy. I’m around 5’9 with riding shoes on so I’m wondering if 12 or 14 would be better. I also don’t want them above my shoulders. Thanks
Mate 12 inches is perfect for my height of 5'9" I feel 14 inches would be too tall and tricky to manouver when at slow rolling speed but that's just my opinion.
Love the look. You used stock cables for the brake and clutch cables, then what did you buy the extensions for? What other stuff needed to be extended?
I had to purchase wiring extensions for the internal wiring in the bars. The cables work fine however the wiring for the hand controls arnt long enough
Look good bud. 👍
Thanks mate 👍
Love the look of the bars mate, I’ve been undecided on my fxbb on thrashing supply mid MX bars & 6 inch risers or these DNA apes, think u might have convinced me 👍 are they much wider & taller than the stock mini apes? I’m only 5ft8 so don’t want anything too much more of a stretch than stock. Just fitted up leather pros bags on mine & run a Memphis shades del rio sport shield for longer rides, just waiting on my 19l softail slim tank to arrive & she’s all set for some big trips. Keep up the good work mate 👍🏍👍🏍
Thanks Chris. These bars are 3 inches wider than the stock mini apes and are 13 inches in rise with the stock risers. I love these bars man, would recommend them although it was annoying having to depin the wiring on the throttle side to run them through the bars.
Those bars look killer! Much better than t bars in my opinion.
love the bars so much i just ordered them for myself. what wiring extension did you go with
I purchased the 8 inch wiring extension kit from easy r Australia. Here's a link
www.easyr.com.au/custom-dynamics-cd-cdbarext1-handlebar-wiring-harn
I didn't need to extend the indicator wires or throttle by wire
@@TheGingybeardMan thanks so much man!
Very nice !im looking for bars to replace the stock mini apes on my fxbb 2020. Would the 12 inch be higher than the stock mini apes ? I’m a bit afraid to go to the 14in , even tho I’m nearly 6’4 I have an Arlen ness fairing and do not want to have a very risen arms position. I’m looking for something slightly higher than stock mini apes that I could also bring a bit backwards as my seat from whiplash seats me a couple of inches back on the bike
These bars sit 1 inch higher than the stock bars. If you went any higher than 13 inches depending on the width of your bars you would need to extend your clutch line and the wiring to your controls. I don't think 14 inch bars would be too high for a person of your height.
Now go back to a solo seat, put on a 21" front wheel, air ride slam the rear & 2 into 2 exhaust. Gonna miss your club, there was so much more you could've done. But hey, thats whats so cool about HD, its ez to change flavors if you like. Keep up the good vids mate.
Thanks mate, I'll keep the vids coming. I will go with a 21 inch front wheel but will stick with the tbr exhaust and seat 🤙🤙
I’ve been looking at ordering these. On the website they have a version that says (WIDE) what version did you go for ?
I know yours are wider than our stock FXBB and worried about ordering the (WIDE) and them being to wide.
If you could let me know what you picked I’d really appreciate it 😃
Mate I went with the narrow ones which are still pretty wide. I wouldn't want to go any wider than these to be honest 👍
Nice bars! Did you have to replace the Lucky Daves bushings from your last build?
No I was able to still use the Lucky Dave's bushings 👍
Looks awesome!!!! I need to get these!!
So all you need to install these is some wiring extensions for the controls and signals? Stock clutch cable and brake cable work? Also it seems that the bars taper for the stock controls as well, just making sure this works because I"m looking for a simple way to do a bar change out! Looks dope btw!
Yes mate that's all you need 👍
Thank you for your video! It helped me make my decision on purchasing these bars!
Not a worry mate, glad the vid was able to help 👍
Thanks for your vids, very helpful. Ordered the same bars as seen on your channel. What pre fab wireing do I need ? Do I need to change out bushings since bars are heavy compared to sad stock bars? Your response would be gladly appreciative. Later buddy.
Yes you will need heavier duty bushings. I purchased the polyurethane ones from lucky Dave's and also purchase a wiring extension kit for the control wires 👍
@@TheGingybeardMan sorry need to ask did you need to de pin ? Is it possible to fish wires with connectors thru bars .
@@victormoore8498 I had to depin the wires for the right hand side as there wasn't alot of room.
Were you able to still use the factory switch box? Was there enough room for everything with the tapering or did you have to switch anything around? I'm wanting these bars in 16" and curious about any difficulties I might run into? Thank you for your help!
Yes factory switches work. Only thing I changed was the wiring extensions. My cables were fine. However If you went with 16s you wpuld need to get longer wiring extensions and a longer break and clutch cable
Yes sir, that part is definitely going to have to be longer! Thank you!
nice bars! Great video. tip: you sould not have to go over the grips to use your clutch or brake. It is recommended you do an ergo adjustment and rotate your controls slightly more around the bars towards you. In an emergency situation, every millisecond counts.
Your new bars look better to me.
Cheers Wally, I think the same 👍
Looks fantastic, 👌🏻👌🏻 Where did you buy the electric extensions? Or did you did the job by your self?
I bought them from a company called EasyR Australia 👍
Very nice bars!!
But I like your seat also. Wich one is it if I may ask?
Thanks mate, the seat is called the whiplash slipstream seat 👍
Man... I'm on the look out for new bars. Torn between apes or t-bars. I know apes are more comfy but the t-bars look nice on the street bob. Tough decision.
Bloody hell man, I'm just not getting regular notifications of messages. I saw you went with the Denniskirk bars, they look the goods man 👍 Sorry for the late reply brother.
@@TheGingybeardMan no worries. I love em. 14" 🍻
I ordered some 🤘if you don’t mind me asking just approximately how long did the install of the bars take you ?
Thanks in advance 🤘
Shouldn't take any longer than 4 hours mate 👍
Bike looks good!! How you liking the DNA Monster bars? I thing on puting them on my 16FLSS but going with 14” I’m 5’10 tall
I really like them mate, I can't fault them hey 👍
never been a fan of the Ts, you reckon those apes would look good with the faring?
Personally I think ape hangers look better without a fairing but I still think it would look alright with one 👍
When switching handlebars from 16" to a lower hight. Where do you think the limit is before you have to change the cables to shorter ones. Do you think I can switch to let say 12-14" without changing the length of the cables and wires?
I believe the longer cables on your 16 inch bars would be fine for say 14 inch risers. I think the cables would also work with the 12 inch risers but they would look a bit odd.
@@TheGingybeardMan Thanks man. Best channel on youtube!!
@@Sweed87 cheers brother, appreciate it 🤙🤙🤙
Definitely like those ape hangers. Are you putting a fairing on? And did you have to order parts to flip the mirrors?
No mate I've ditched the fairing, ended up selling it the other day. I'm running led undermount indicators so I didn't need to purchase the ball receptical for the stock indicator to flip the mirrors.
@@TheGingybeardMan thanks
Was it hard to pull the wires through the bar? Did you have to depin the plugs?
Yes i had to depin the wiring to the right hand controls. It was a time consuming job. I took photos of where the wires went into the plug so I didnt incorrectly reinstall them.
Any thoughts on reupholstering stock saddle with a grippier fabric. Saddle has no torsion support on take offs. My Le Pera kick flip locks me in saddle. Thanks for your time
I've thought about reupholstering the stock seat but will probably go with a solo seat which is more comfortable. Particularly on long rides so I'll probably go with the mustang wide tripper seat.
Thanks for taking time to respond. I'll search out another solo saddle.
DNA bars are better in my opinion. So much more adjustment to get that perfect riding position and yes, they look mean. 🤘🏻
Love the vids man. Question for you, where did you get the black out fork material? Clean. 👌🏻
Hey man I just bought some cheap gloss black vinyl off eBay.
Here's a link: www.ebay.com.au/itm/192601723157
The Gingybeard Man thanks brotha, I got a 2020 FXBB Spruce. Love it. Ride safe. 🤘🏻
Hey man, I bought these bars for my 2017 - 48. I bought a wiring kit from LA choppers on Revzilla for 12 inch bars. All of the cabling fits well except for the throttle cables. There is a bit of slack in the cables and it allows some play in the throttle grip. Do you have your controls mounted on the beveled part of the bars at all? I'm wondering if I move my controls in a bit, that it will tighten up the throttle cables a bit. Thanks
I have my controls mounted before the bars start to bevel out. I didn't notice any change in the play on my throttle by wire for the street bob. Does the 48 have throttle by wire or cable?
@@TheGingybeardMan It's dual throttle cables
@@CineGraphStudios ahhh that's why it's different. I think you may be able to adjust those cables to suit the bars 👍
@@TheGingybeardMan I'll have to look into it, thanks for the response!
Hey mate, love the bars, after the same for my ‘19 bob but having a lot of trouble finding them. Cannot find any that reduce down to 1” for the stock riser
Yeah I havnt seen them advertised on eBay to suit the street bob since buying them. You can install larger risers if your having trouble finding bars. You could go with the HD risers which suit bars that don't taper down to 1 inch. Check out these risers, www.harley-davidson.com/us/en/shop/Handlebar-Riser-and-Clamp-Kit/p/55900194
I know they are based in the US but just search the part number in Google and they will pop up 👍
Obviously They won't fit your stock bars
@@TheGingybeardMan Cheers mate. Keep up the good work
How much play do you have with the stock brake and clutch cables?
I'd say an inch of play with both the brake and clutch lines
They look fat! love them. My favourite style of apes. I personally didnt like you old bars no offence. Getting my bob in the near year! Cannot wait.
No offence taken man, I much prefer the look of these bars 👍
Bet next year can't come quick enough for you mate.
The Gingybeard Man did you install yourself or get WRM to do it?
@@AnarchistBogan I installed them myself man. It's an easy enough install to do so I couldn't bring myself to pay someone to do it.
So I just ordered the 14” dna apes... do you think the 8” clutch extension would work? I’m assuming I’ll need a whole new brake cable..
Mate I havnt had a look at the extension kits but 12 inch apes are at the max limit. An 8 inch extension may be a bit long is there a 6 inch extension?
@@TheGingybeardMan Thanks for the reply man, l’ll dig a bit deeper ... 6” should probably work.
Was waiting for a video !
Killer video
I was just thinking of new handle bars .
How much did u pay for those
80,000$Australian?
😂
🤣🤣🤣 seems like I've spent close to 80k on it with constantly changing my mind on parts I've already installed.
The Gingybeard Man 😎👍
Slt vraiment classe ce guidon 😉
Merci 🤙🤙
So u said the stock clutch and brake cables are long enough and don’t have to be replaced ?
yes sir
Hey man,
I’m 5’ 9” and can’t decide between the 12 or 14. My goal is to sit more straight up vs hunched over like I currently am stock. You are the same height but did the 12’s give you a better straight up riding position? I feel like if I do 14’s and roll them back towards me it will achieve a better sitting position but you rocking 12’s has me thinking I should do the same now. Let me know!
All depends on your reach. I know people who are my height however have a much shorter reach. Personally I wouldn't go any higher than 12 inches as the bar clamps sit the bars another inch higher. I sit upright with these bars
@@TheGingybeardMan did you have to extend clutch/ brake cables with the 12’s or just electrical extensions?
@@matthewcenteno5299 just electrical extensions mate
How did you like these bars, how did they hold up before you got rid of the bike?
I loved the bars, I had them on the bike for around 12 months before selling the bike and had no issues. I Have read forums from others that did have bad experiences though. Poor paint quality, bars not aligned 100% but I never had those issues.
That would look amazing with v&h short shot pipes
I agree with you but I'll be sticking with the 2 into 1 Tbr pipes as they provide better performance due to having more backpressure than 2 into 2 exhausts 👍
The Gingybeard Man still a very good pipe
Could you share with us what seat you put on your bike? I'm looking and I like the profile!
Hey mate I've done a review of this seat in a vid on my channel. The seat is a whiplash slipstream seat 👍
Looks like i got first place in the comment section. To be honest i prefer the look of the club style more. You are totaly right when it comes to adjustability. You have to be a "Lucky Bastard" ;-) to get it just right in one go when you set on a taste you prefer in styles of build. So many people and so many taste, luckily. I never want low or drag bars on any bike ever again comfortwise. Just my two cents. Stay safe and play nice Y"all.
I'll never go with low drag bars either. I had them on my softail slim S and far out my back would ache on those long rides.
Nice bars man u think these will fit a 2018 street bob? I know yours is 2019 so it should hopefully fit 🙏
2018 to 21 models have the exact same triple trees so they will fit your street bob.
Is the internal cabling a pain to run or is fairly easy?
Its a pain to run. You just have to take your time and depin the wires before running them through the bars
Hi brother mate just wondering where u got apes and wiring from as I want to put the same on my 2019 fxbb cheers Jerry
Hey mate I got the bars off eBay and the wiring extensions from a company called EasyR Australia.
Thanks brother much appreciated 👍
how easy was it to feed the wiring through the bars on install
It's a time consuming job, I had to depin several of the wiring connectors for the wiring to fit through the bars. Be sure to take plenty of pics of where the wires go into the clips before removing them.
What wires did u have to extend? Blinkers? TBW?
I didn't have to extend the throttle by wire or indicator wiring just the rest
Hi mate , could you please let me know the length of the hand control area on the bars, I want to put it on a Honda Shadow and some people say it will fit and some people say it won't, and I don't know why !!
I no longer have the bike but the measurements are 1 ½” in diameter diameter, they taper down to 1" where the bars mount in the risers. The bars are 35” wide from the left hand controls to the right and the bottom width is 11 inches.
Much better look for that bike
Thanks Dan, I think so too 👍
Hey mate! Did you do the install of these bars yourself?
Yes mate I installed them myself, harley charge a stupid amount to install them.
Can u make a video on how to please
@@JayTatum418 I did a how to video on a different style of bars on my channel 👍
Cool bars, your bike looks much better now. Only thing i don’t like is the underslung mirrors, I hate bikes with these, would look miles better with some small billet mirrors on short stems.
On NBC another note, would like to see a vlog showing all your recording equipment setup and costs etc
Thanks mate 👍
I agree man, I'm not a massive fan of these mirrors in general, however I prefer the look of em mounted under the bars.
Did the stock wires work for you?
Stock cables did but as stated in the video I needed to extend the wiring
Where can I buy these bars?!
Update I found them online and one option to purchase includes an adapter? What is the adapter for?
No idea mate, there was no adapter needed on the ones I purchased. I bought them off ebay
@@TheGingybeardMan thank you! I found them on Ebay as well for $170. Really great edits and shots at the beginning of your video by the way!
@@captainmcfilthy8569 Thanks mate appreciate the positive feedback 👍
Do you have forward controls also?
Yes sir, I did a video on my channel installing them
I planned on ordering 16” chrome, but now I don’t know if I should order 14” or 16”
You will need to extend your brake line, clutch line and electrical wiring for the 14s and 16s to fit
