Adrienne, I learn a lot about the game (thus, what to watch for when viewing a reel) from listening to your assessments. I’ve been a fan of the game since childhood when I attended games with my parents at their alma mater. Well versed in the basic fundamentals - only now am I learning about hands positioned like a waiter carrying a tray, not crossing hands; and it makes perfect sense. I’ve loved Aliyah since, early in last season when I saw her wrap her arm around Caitlin’s neck as the team exited the floor to the locker room. I could tell she was encouraging her and offering advice from her own rookie season. And Angel needs to just focus on her position and stop trying to imitate Caitlin.
She is an amazing player. With such a drive to be the best. I don't watch sports, and I started watching last year because of the hype, but now I am can't wait to see them play this next season.
I would like to see her work on her "fadeaway" shot. Once mastered she would be impossible to block in the paint, even by players that have a height edge on her.
A side by side comparison between Aliyah's workout tape and Angel's play acting tape is readily apparent. When you watch either Caitlin's or Amiga he's you see 2 talented female athletes working hard to get even better. When you watch Angel's video it's absolutely cringe. She's a big that can't make a layup and in her clout chasing tape she's working on 3's? Caitlin and Aliyah worked on improving their already good fundaments as shown in their videos. Angel's video is like her life, all fluff and no substance.
id take boston over reese any day of the week. what is truly baffling is the skyy took cardoso 3rd over all and then spent all season catering to reese. cardoso shot over 52 percent to reeses 39.
The Fever are doing the same thing any good franchise would do when they strike gold, you maximize your chances to be dominant for a long period of time and hopefully win multiple championships (MJ´s Bulls, the Warriors, the Showtime Lakers, The Kobe and Shaq Lakers, the Bird Celtics, etc) Everyone is on the same frequency, and not only the young players are going to get better, Kelsey Mitchell will benefit greatly from all the extra attention CC, Aliya Boston, and Lexie Hull will demand from opposing defenses. They know from their success after the Olympic brake that they are on the brink of greatness.
Nothing wrong with developing an outside shot, if you have gotten your natural, inside shooting and playing down pat. In Reese's case that is a big IF, because she doesn't have her natural position playing down, at all, except for rebounding. She can do that.
Angel could have a decent career and be a decent player if she focused on HER OWN game, she needs to stop trying to be attached to CC. I think she sees what CC is doing and the attention she gets and figures she can keep the rivalry going which would keep her relevant but that was back in college this the WNBA it’s over
@@CoreySimplyKingThe one thing is common with Ben Simmons is they both are right handed and switched to shooting left handed. Ben did it because his father made him but Reese did it after issues with her right arm when shooting. So it’s understandable they have shooting struggles since it’s their off hand.
There's no comparison with our Aliyah, the first one to figure out CC's exquisite passing patterns. Then came Speedy Mitchell, and the rest is 19 - 12.
No, they just loop the same shot she makes, why edit a workout??? She’s squeezing in as much as she can to stay relevant because she has little to no grasp of basketball fundamentals!😂
Angel can't hit a layup, has more concern about how good her make up and nails look on court. Instead of her skills and shooting. She's all looks with a little talent. She could be a force, but that takes hard work and sweat, and you never look like a model if your sweating.
She doesn't look naturally athletic. She is tall for a female and moves like an uncoordinated baby giraffe. Her form is bad she keeps crossing her hands and palming the ball.
Let's get back to the basics... you're on the left side... everything with the left! Get that 2 point with a foul. That's why you do everything with the left from the left side. Same with the right. You're a PRO...make it happen. Ball with both hands!
The pick N Roll With Boston should turn right not left I was taught never turn your back to the ball Boston looks really good. I love seeing her. He just needs to fix the pick roll.
I guess it depends on how in sync the two players are, I´ve seen Malone turn the “wrong” way many times but had so much trust in Stockton that he knew exactly where the ball was going. I think CC has that ability to get you the ball regardless.
@@fernandosibecas3492 Mellow is right. By turning in, instead of out, you pin the defender behind you, after the pick. Adrienne Ross on UA-cam shows this more in depth. Never turn your back to the ball is the rule.
AB has been doing this with her godfather Tim Duncan since before her freshman year but this is one day of training we are talking about. AB one of my favorites is also working on her outside shot as well. They leave her open top of the key Ik she don’t like that. Reese has had a decent shot for years she just don’t use it. She should work in her post moves fs but it was her post moves that got her here so she does something right and should work on mid and outside as well as post. Complete game
A good half-court game is necessary, sometimes. They didn't have much of one, last season. With this confident coach, with a pretty good record, I believe they will do more than well with both styles of play. They need a little more size, inside and out, too, but I hope they can acquire another good big. Sabally really impresses me, and I think might be the best fit if they can get her. It's just me, and I feel sure it won't happen, but I would like very much if they could trade for Cardoso. With a good coach, I believe Cardoso could do big things this season. She much deserves some real attention, and a positive environment.
@@sharronjones1017 If you mean Cardoso, I haven't got that impression, but I might have missed something. Nothing much about the WNBA players surprises me, positive or negative.
Watching Boston, she does a half Sky hook. Keith teach her the complete Sky hook instituted by Jubbar. None of theWNBA players will be able to stop her..
Glad they didn’t worked on shooting through full contact. Best shape Aliyah Boston would have flatten Couch Porter and make him slide off the court. Great workout.
Boston is looking good especially different shots. Getting ready for CC on New Heights podcast! So excited! Are you going to be watching & reporting on it?!
My question is are these players just practicing because they are in the unrivaled league? It will be a very sad day if Boston gets hurt while playing in the unrivaled league. Is this why we are seeing videos of the players practicing
As for A.B., as her mid-range game becomes even more of a weapon, she's going to draw shot blockers away from the basket. leaving room for cutters like Mitchell and Hull.
Angel doesn't even need a coach for the very basic level of improvement she requires. She just needs repetition - the Mikan Drill - for a couple of hours a day. If you're not familiar with this drill, look it up here on UA-cam. Once you see it (and knowing her deficiencies around the basket), it will be immediately obvious why it would be preferable to her wasting time launching 3-pointers with the worst shooting mechanics in professional basketball. Players like A.B. and A'ja Wilson will be dominating her in the post for years to come. The lingering dysfunction in the Chicago Sky coaching staff is quite apparent in how they continue to indulge her unwillingness to improve her game.
Yall weird fr! How can you compare a 15 sec clip of a workout and determine that. 😂😂😂 They both gonna be beasts next season. Well starting in Unrivaled
Please don't take offense, Aliyah - I do admire your game, but what I noticed today is your hair - it is so pretty and I didn't know it could look like that. Your colorful braids are cute and I always wonder what colors you'll weave, but just have say your long lovely hair today beats them all.
Blame Angel and the media. They have hyped a "rivalry" where there is no competitive rivalry. Reese has 0 chance of being competitive enough with Caitlin Clark to be considered a rival. There is no rivalry except in her head and in the media outlets... no competition... which is why she is working on her threes with bad form.... she is going for the worst percentage record in WNBA history....
I don't hate Angel but she is like many people who have mistakenly over valued their performance as a basketball player or any other athletic endeavor. Reese needs nueromuscular work. That is specialized training. I doubt that she has the drive to undertake such training.
You’re right no competitive rivalry at all, they’ve played in 3 different CHAMPIONSHIP games against each other in their career and Reese won all 3 times, AAU CHAMPIONSHIP, Bi Ten Tournament Championship and National Championship, Reese wins when it matters most if she’s healthy so no rivalry is correct.
@@jeangrey5952 Correct, her TEAM won.... This is different because they are trying to create a rivalry between individuals... and Angel, as an individual, doesn't compare.
