So glad to see you posting again! You've been missed! 😁
Finally got 15 minutes to sit down with a coffee to watch this vid, was not disappointed, had to watch it twice because the first time got distracted with your wonderful voice and the second time was the stunning scenery of your city. Thank you
I don't know where you get that lipstick...but it must be from the gods...never smears...even while drinking...amazing.
This was great! I’m a flight attendant and I get layovers in Dublin a few times in the summer. It’s one of our most sought after layovers, so they are a bit hard to get. It was so nice to see some of the things I discovered wandering around your city- I totally agree about that entrance into Temple Bar it’s my fave too. And I discovered a few more things to do on my next layover there! Marsh’s Library tho is a different library then the one attached to the Book of Kells. That one is the Old Library, Marsh’s Library is in St. Patrick Close adjacent to St. Patrick’s Cathedral. I guess it (the old Library) was his library at one point but Marsh left Trinity college and had a public library built that was open to everyone. It’s much smaller and less grand. The one at Trinity looks definitely like the library would be at Hogwarts and Marsh’s Library looks like if Snape had a private library.
Marsh's also still functions a library if you have a scholarly reason for taking the books off the shelf and reading them. I have a fondness for Marsh's because there used to a doorman there that I'd see every time I was back and he'd get me caught up on everything I'd missed in the GAA since the last time I was back in Ireland.
(ETA: I say used to because I haven't been back since 2013 and I'd be shocked if he was still around now.)
I am actually nerdy enough that I would TOTALLY go every day to see a new page from the Book of Kells.
This is awesome, always wanted to visit Ireland. One day I will.
I am a history nerd, I really enjoyed the prison. Learn so much about Ireland history there.
I visited Ireland last year. Loved Dublin and I'm loving seeing some of the places I got to visit in person. I really want to come back!
Thanks so much Nicole! More excited than ever to visit. Cheers.
Thanks for this, Nicole. I've just watched both and I really enjoyed it. As a son of the famine, I've always wanted to "go back" to Ireland, but goddammit, the money. Cheers.
But Phil Linnot is holding a bass though isn't he? unless my eyes are tricking me and i only see 4 strings instead of 6 :D
TihMusic Goddamnit.
It’s a rendering of a Fender P-Bass, yeah... I’m gonna have to google Phil Linnot, tho, I’m not even gonna lie 😖😇 lol
**googles** OHHHHhh! OK... But meh🤷🏼♂️ I’ll take Rory Gallagher over Gary Moore/Thin Lizzy ANY day of the week! 😄
@@NicoleOConnor An ace is someone who is really good at something.
@@yobhsiFehT You need to check out his work on Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds, "The Spirit of Man" and other tracks. :)
I visited Dublin back in 2010, and I'm excited to go back this year. My wife has never been. I will say, for tourist type spots, the Guinness storehouse is well worth it and I'll do it again. It's got cultural history and a fantastic view of the city at the end. Plus, beer.
Thank you so much for making these! I had asked a few of the other contributors about doing something like this. It's so great seeing some of the locals favorite places.
Cant wait will be visiting the month !
I had a 4 week trip to Ireland. But situations changed during Coronavirus. So hopefully can go to your lovely country next year. Thank you for sharing.
I think you're an absolute joy and positively adorable nicole. A bright and sunny spot in my heart ❤ thanks for being awesome and all your charming videos
Their is way more things to do south side in Dublin such as if you are to get a 10 minute train to a town called dalkey keeping in mind still in Dublin you can get amazing views off the hole city and the bay and nice walk ways and monuments to visit in the park
Well now Nicole it's a great job you have done. It pleases me to watch you. Such a lovely woman with a sense of humor.
Love seeing places that would be difficult for me to get to and around.
Loved this. So glad to see some of the places I used to go to back in the 90s still going strong. Many a time spent outside the Pav having a pint. Or heading over to the Stags Head for a session .
I want to go to Ireland so badly. What a gorgeous country. Thanks for this Nicole. Hope you're summer is lovely.
Thank you for a great tour !! I WILL get to Dublin one day..there's more to do there than I thought. It looks like you spend at least a couple of days there. One day....
Me and my kids went on the Viking Splash tour.. It was quite fun seeing where Colin Farril and Bono live.
We have booked a tour beginning September 14-23, 2019. We’re arriving on the 12th and staying at the Shelbourne for 3 nights. I do appreciate your two videos of places to visit and see. Very helpful. Thank you.
Loved the video! You make everything sound so interesting! And it's beautiful there. Thanks for your take on Dublin! 👍
I really love your nice and peaceful video shows about Ireland! :D I am an American and will move there soon! :D
This was charming as heck and well worth the wait.
Tee hee I'm not sure I could pass as a student, I'm 60 years old.
The Natural Museum was so much fun. Finding it was more fun. I asked a policemen where I could find it and after giving me directions he warned my not to mistake it for the legislature building as it was often difficult to distinguish a politician from a stuffed animal.
One day my wife and I went into "The Lombard" for a meal, because they were flying a CANADIAN flag. It was nice.
I loved my time in Dublin. I'm looking forward to going back once this Covid thing is over.
Great video. I love a takeaway coffee in Stephen's Green for breakfast in Dublin. About 30 years ago when I was a teenager in the city Soundcellar at the turning from Grafton Street onto Nassau Street was the centre of our world. Just a dark basement record store that sells gig tickets. Last time I checked it was still there.
Thanks for the great guide, Nicole. I plan on using it in a few months when I visit Ireland for the first time.
Making me miss Dublin! Didn't spend enough time there.
Thanks Nicole! I liked this too. You could have future with this sort of show. Dublin owes you something. Idk, perhaps a nice set of heels or a nice video camera or a really nice bag of sand.
Howdy, and yes it was very nice and helpful. I will have to watch it again and take notes. I am elderly and do not get around much but this looks so exciting. I will be in Dublin, August 2019 for Worldcon.
Great stuff Nicole - informative.
The Oscar Wilde was my favorite too! You have given me a few places to go on my next trip to Dublin in addition to the stuff I missed on my first trip. Thanks Nicole!
Hey Nicole, nice of you to join us again... Missed you
Thanks a lot. I went this places last year.
MORE!!! please.
That was VERY nice! Well done, thank you
AAAwwww! Couldn't wait for this
You are drop-dead gorgeous.
And tell us something, a revelation. 'Water is wet'.../lol
Another thirsty loser, lol.
@@sparkysjoint1616 Be nice~
@@sparkysjoint1616 Fuck you, dude. Your comment slamming ones opinion is far more pathetic than the original comment. She is gorgeous, after all. But oh how cool you are.....
Great video! You should do a entire video on the funny knick named statues in Dublin. Hilarious!
That was the best summary I have watched! We can’t wait to visit next month. We’re not really tourist types, but I think you teased out our inner one! ;)
Lovely video dear, thank you so much for sharing.
11:28 A little piece of my city in yours! 😄 I’m actually not a huge fan of KBS, but I’m always happy to see our exports being enjoyed a few thousand miles from home! ❤️ Thanks for posting these! I deeply, sincerely hope I can put your tips to use one day! 😊
A “pleasant, hipster-y vibe” describes like over half of Grand Rapids, btw, so if you’re into that sort of thing and feel like making a stop in the States to a city most people haven’t heard of, look me up on the Try FB page and my couch is yours 😉🤷🏼♂️😂
Thank you, thank you, thanks be to you. Your videos on Dublin are excellent. You could sell them to tourist, I know I would buy one. Thanks so much. You have lots of talent
Book of Kells? Everyday? Hell yeah, it would be an honor to see how the Irish preserved civilization.
Kell's is the name of an Irish pub in Portland Oregon.
Ever see RIOT at the fringe? Just saw them here in Toronto, one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
Thank you for this video! Now excuse me while I rewrite my plans for what to do in Dublin. CANT WAIT TO GET THERE THIS AUGUST!! AHHHH!! 😄😄
I was waiting to see the conclusion of this tour...lots of things to see whenever I manage to make it over there. Definitely have to see the Book of Kells...though it might give me a coronary if I have to watch them turn it...it's so old lol! And I have a theory on the Lynnot statue: It's an old saying (at least over here) that someone of color is 'black as the ace of spades', so perhaps that's where "Ace with the Bass" came from, or perhaps, more happily, he was just indeed an ace on the bass.
Dublin looks amazing ❤ big hug Nicole 💐 send you lotsvof love from Argentina
That guitar shaped thing IS a bass. It's a bass guitar. Kinda like a bass Ukulele but bigger but not as big as a double bass which is huge and shaped like a massive violin. So yeah, that's his bass he's holding right there. In his other hand you'll notice a power tool. Phil with the drill... it all makes perfect sense Nicole. Occasionally he was the bloke with the coke...
I'm going to Dublin mid May and I will be lost lol hopefully I'll meet some funny friendly locals that will show me around.
seems like a lovely city
That was great and a lot of good info thanks from California
Sorry but as Dub I'd avoid Temple Bar. If you want something classy try The Bank on Dame St. Stunning looking pub, great pints & food. Too many pubs in Dublin to to even start.
ace with the bass because it is a bass guitar...founding member tin (as you would say it)Lizzy
Great video!!
You are so pretty !!!I wish they would bring back TRY.
Great stuff... Bord Failte - eat your heart out...
I was wondering how authentic the Mexican restaurant could be but the sign said Green or Red so they got that right.
The Azteca restaurant has a website and when I was searching other restaurants it came up and it looked pretty close to authentic as this Floridian could see. While we do have several authentic Mexican restaurants in the Orlando area, including the Mexican staffed pavilion at EPCOT (Walt Disney World), my surrounding Latin demographic is mostly Caribbean (Puerto Rican and Dominican). There are several others as well oddly enough in Dublin.
So glad you got this list done before my visit in July! Definitely going to check some of this out, while keeping my eyes open for the Try/Facts contributors lol
Hey, Nicole. I'm coming to Dublin for the first time ever on June 9th, from Chicago. Bring me to wig-wams!?? I'll by drinks!
Great
Thank you! Very helpful. You'd make an excellent President of Ireland someday.
Good call on Bunsen burger :-) just finish eating there. :-) likes it a lot
Saw Lord Of The Dance when I was younger, then, got to meet Michael Flatley, that was a thing.
Absolutely love the music.
If I made it over and saw you, I don't know how I'd react, probably just a smile then I'd move on.
thisdamnthingy that guy from Chicago ?
Good video 👏🏼
Sweet young woman. Nice intel for a traveler.
Did they film part of Penny Dreadful in The National Museum of Ireland? It looks familiar and I've never been. It reminds me of a few scenes from the show.
The oldest episode of Tom and Jerry LOL!
I have the biggest crush on Nicole! If I ever get to go to Ireland, I'd love to meet the Try crew!
Love you since Facts🦄🦄🦄
Thanks for this, when i move there this summer I will do this tour. But I have to ask, were in Dublin will I find the best steak?
you look great in front of the camera
Part Deux?
eyes look great
Statue Phil IS holding a bass....
Hold on, phil is ace, and he plays the bass, thats the four string guitar he's holding, it's a bass guitar, ..known simply as the bass. Paul McCartney payed bass, i.e his guitar had four bass strings, a bass guitar, like the one phil is holding, it's just called the 'bass'. That was his instrument, he played bass. That's why he's the ace with the bass. He could be the bender with the fender but he wasn't a bender.
If there is a south side then there is a north side pretty much all american citys south side bad north side good.Is it backwards there.
The original Windmill Lane Studios?
An ace is just somebody that is good at there particular craft come on.
- thanks Nicole, I'll be there soon and will check some of these places out. Are you performing in the area?
Wait, is The Natural History Museum the same one that is shown repeatedly in Penny Dreadful?!
mcantu197 yep!
it has a very distinct look with that 2nd floor railing. I recognized it right away. Great video!!
WHO DOESN'T LIKE BUNSEN!?!?
Are there any areas in Dublin that you would recommend to avoid. I'm coming in for the All-Ireland Comogie Finals at Croke Park in Sept. (I'm Protestant but pro reunification. The little Irish I know is all over the place because of multiple teachers.)
Is McDaid's still open? I went looking once for the Blue Lion, but it was long gone.
Balor1
Yeah it is
If I come to Ireland, will YOU be my tour guide? 💞

They don't call him "The **ck on the Rock"?
3:13 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤞😏🐼🧚♀️
That lickey, sucky thing at 1:39 was disturbing. There's a darkness about you that I can't quite put my finger on. Thumbs up for the make-up though.
Totally charming and amazingly beautiful . . . are you.
You're Beautiful. And.. Very pleasant 💖
Where does a Canadian tourist find any dope Nicole??
:-)
