This is the perfect review and it has answered all my questions! I've been using my Neje 2s Max with a40640 for almost 2 years of daily use, but the laser is starting to weaken. (now running at 50% slower speed than before to make the same cut) So based on your review I think the e40 laser module coupled with the 3sMax is the perfect replacement, since I mainly cut 3mm MDF and 3mm ABS sheets for my small business. Thanks again for your hard work in making these videos!
Exactly, just one question, did you clean lens regularry on your 40640? A tiny layer of dust decrease power a lot. Also aditional fan halps a lot for long term working.
@@TinC33 hi! Thanks for the reply. Yes I've been regularly cleaning the lens ever since I purchased it. Usually once every 3days. I also have a powerful smoke extraction fan with laser housing box so smoke is extracted effectively to reduce any carbon/residue buildup. I use a Hailea ACO 328 for air assist so not an oil compressor. I do not have an extra cooling fan on my current a40640 so the e40 with its superior cooling should help increase lifespan of the module.
@@TinC33 I've just placed the order for the Neje 3Max with e40 using your referral link! I pretty much wait for your videos before buying anything laser-related as my last Neje 2sMax purchase was based on your review too. Thanks again for doing the research to help us with our purchases!
Nice analysis and review of the lasers, Tine. Can you help me? How many lenses are there on that A40640 ring, when you open it for cleaning? Let me explain: I opened mine to clean, but the metal ring and lens assembly fell onto the workshop floor. After looking under the equipment, I found it, cleaned it and put it back in the module, but there was only one lens on the ring (which I thought was normal). I later learned that some laser modules use more than one lens. I don't know if this is the case with the A40640, as I couldn't find it on the manufacturer's website or looking online. Can you tell me how many lenses came in yours? Thanks.
@@TinC33Yes, but he too is not much on the lenses, the focal point is too big. By the way E80 looks like it can't be mounted on Master 2 Max and similar :( E40 0.03x0.04mm A40640 0.04x0.06mm E80 0.06x0.06 in these conditions A40640 it's obsolete
@@johnny8227 yep i love 40640 because it also got settable focus and with short focus make amazing result on inox, E80 is 24v and about 500g so only max can carry them.
There is no doubt in my mind that you are a professional. In terms of stability, I prefer the E40 laser. I have used it for 4 hours for a long time, and there is not much change before and after. The only caveat is to clean the lens. In terms of module performance, it is obvious that neje has done a lot better than before. Looking forward to seeing your next video
hello, that's exactly what i say into video, modul is great for long term of use, for long time cutting with full power, but after all A40640 is still more powerfull, i would say only because of better focus... And i never said i'm a professional, i just tell my opinion, and always like to hear other people opinion
Hey there, very cool video. I need to engrave some small lettering (3.5mm high) onto a stainless steel pipe (9mm OD). Seems the E40 would do the job? What do you think?
Actually a40640 is stronger for stainless since you can set fine focus for engrave and got more power, but also e40 will do the job. But what you need is just what i testing now its fiber laser engrave into steel in seconds 😀
@@TinC33 On really, wow that sounds very interesting. is it expensive? I'm so new to these machines and laser engraving. Here's a similar example of the type of lettering I want to achieve, do you think possible with the Neje machines? ua-cam.com/users/shortsS7OpDTkE0Ok
No not ok, you need fiber laser, i just test it those days amazing machine to engrave all kind of metal stainless even in few different colours... I will upload review video in a month. Btw machine is called g-weike g2 cost about 2k wich is really cheap for that kind of machine 2-3yrs ago was about 10k$. It's speed is amazing text with about 10 letters 5mm height engrave in 0,2seconds 😀
Thank you, I've been waiting for this review - can't wait for the 80w version. Is there any reason why with a square/rectangular beam there isn't a circular mask to smooth out the edges of cuts? Any ideas?
thanks, i got some great news neje max 4 and e80 will arrive to test but temporary they're out of stock in EU warehouse. it be perfect if we got round focus but every masking here will dramaticly decreased the power of laser, that's why it is square i think. but so far i notice 40640 got far far the best focus, on A40630 there's tottaly rectangular, twice longer than it's width.
Hello, can you tell me if the E40 can cut 1.5mm single layer cardboard?..not the currogated type....just one layer kinda like a cereal box cardboard but a little thicker..will it cut it perfect and perfect edges with decent speed?

Thanks, yup there come potica days for sure, potica will be on every corner soon ;) happy ester to you and yours also.
neje improved the E40 lens by reading the specs on their site. Now the focus is smaller than the 40640, so this E40 module is its definitive successor
That sounds great, but nothing can beat the monster E80, i still edit the review about Neje 4mqx and E80... amazing combination
