My understanding is that the founder of Ramly burger (Ramly bin Mokni) sold burgers from street-side stalls with his wife. He was also working as a market butcher, and he began thinking about how it was often difficult to know for sure if meat in the market was HALAL or not.
And he decided to open his own company that produced beef that was certified to be halal. Then Muslim customers could buy from him with confidence that the meat was guaranteed to be 100% halal.
Other than the unique taste, ingredients, or style of a Ramly burger, I think the key thing about it for many consumers is that a Ramly burger purchased from an official Ramly outlet is guaranteed to be halal. I think Ramly's dream was to produce his own fast-food chain for Muslim customers.
I read that there are now over 25,000 official Ramly burger outlets in Malaysia.

@@2Feet1Camera I just remember that history from when I tried my first Ramly burger in KL. And I looked specifically for one of the branded Ramly burger outlets. There just happened to be one on the street right outside a hostel I was staying in. The burger was okay, but to be honest, it wasn't anything special. It was fine.
The place you went looked like it wasn't actually part of the Ramly chain. It looks like a separate business, but they bought Ramly burger ingredients and put them together in their own way. But I don't know, then, if that burger would still be considered halal. Or do you have to go to an official Ramly outlet to get the halal version? I'm not sure.
In any event, the burger you had looked a LOT better than the ones I had at this official Ramly outlet. The "Boss" burger makes a good burger, I think.

@@2Feet1Camera It's wonderful to know that u liked d Ramly burger n also d cendol. There r so many versions of cendol nowadays esp d toppings either with ice cream, mango or durian. Nice to know d similarities with halo halo, seen that too, Singaporean, Thailand n Vietnamese also has it too. In Malaysia we call it ABC with more sweets like red beans, sweet corns, jelly, cincau, sometimes caramelized banana etc. Thanks for d lovely video. Good night to u two. 😁
That's how burger should be prepared...don't slice the patties into half...don't fry the patties too dry...spread the sauces slightly not too much...true enough...I got to taste the delicious juicy charred patties not the overwhelmed sauces...that's what I learnt from a Chinese uncle when I had my 1st street burger in 1981...I taught my children & grandchildren about it

2:35 the classic one should be chicken / beef special. Cheese or double patties are just extras. I personally like ayam (chicken) special. The veggies isn't loaded either, but you get to taste the Ramly patties.

@@2Feet1Camera i am gluten intolerant unfortunately. So i can only watch people eat. Also i am buddhist, so no beef. Most buns are wheat based not rice based. The hot plate and the black pepper pot is not separated for chicken patty. Thus buddhist who do not touch beef will avoid.

Just to share that not all street burger in Malaysia sell Ramly Burger. Some sell their selfmade burger patty, some sell brand "otai" which also delicious, brand "azmy" not my favorite and others.
My favourite only Ramly, Otai and collegues of mine that sell selfmade patty.

Musang King durian (expensive but worth trying).
XO durian
Red Prawn durian (written as "Udang Merah" in Malay').
D24 durian (the meat is thick and sweeter)
D101 durian (I'd call this cheaper version of Musang King and it's my favorite)
Do not drink beer, alcohols and anything carbonated with durians. Plain water or fresh coconut are thr best

Try Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Dagang & Laksam...this malay dishes from East Coast part of Malaysia but you can find it at Kak Som Restaurant Kampung Baru, KL...mix it well before you eat especially the Nasi Kerabu so you get the burst of flavor...
