To be honest you don't need two jacks. You can easily drop rear suby and put it back on just using 1 jack. Have changed rear brake discs and one snapped coil today. Thanks for a video.

Thanks. Definitely both sides need to be unbolted if you don't want to use a spring compressor. Very helpful and only took 45mins in the driveway

Really liked your video. Very useful to see how its done, with details like the nut dimensions and torque settings. Thanks.

Like your video. I guess spring rubber mounts under the spring on my Scenic III mounted not correct. Coull you also advise on Laguna III, how the rear springs rubber mounts shall be directed?

Cheers- good video very clear, doing mine tomorrow, I reckon you could leave the wheels on but I guess it gives more room to work 👍

Hope it helps. I guess you could get away with it but being able to come in from the side greatly improves your visibility and access.

@@SocketsAndSideburns yeah just did the job and you are right, I had the wheel bolts loosened and decided to take them off when it was in the air anyway, much better access, also having the wheels off allows you not to have to Jack it so high in the first place to lower the suspension the required amount. Anyway great vid and mine is a megane 3 grand tourer and identical to yours 👍

Thanks for this! Halfords wanted to charge me £138 to change a spring. I thought it would just pop out as it’s on a trailing arm.
I followed your vid but I used springs compressors to help get the spring out and it compressed quite a lot. I got the spring out on the other side without having to take the shock out, once it was compressed enough.

That is a really clear demonstration; thanks! Obviously the video is edited for time; how long does this job take in reality for a pair of rear springs?
You can guess I have this car and have just discovered this problem
    :)

A garage really shouldn't bill more than and hour or two at most for this. For yourself it depends on what tools you have and whether anything decides to not play ball. If everything goes fine done in two hours easy.

check the brake caliper guides. You have strange marks / grooves / streaks on the brake discs.

Where did you place the jack stands?
Also, definitely don't need the wheels off. Easy job with them on but couldn't see many places to put the stands on mine..

    Hello,
I have some damage at that top mount but i can't find the spare part nowhere, could you tell me the name of it please? Or where can i find it?
    thanks

I cannot find it online either. It should just be called a top mount but it has a kind of bump stop incorporated also. The bottom one is easy to find. I'm afraid you'll have to go to the parts and service desk at a Renault dealer. If the part is hopelessly expensive then ask them for the part number and try googling that.
