I don't think Josh failed. He tried something, learned a lot of lessons, and then decided it wasn't for him. That's a success in my books. It was honestly brave to pivot and be ok with change. He should be proud of himself.

This was so painful to watch. It made me look at how I speak to my husband, my tone and the words I choose. She speaks over him and puts him down and has to control the situation. Saying your husband is a failure on UA-cam is appalling. Lesson learned…. I want to do better ❤

It doesn’t seem *kind* to assign the word “failure” repeatedly to your husband. He took a sabbatical from construction for a year and now he’s back at it. I think trying to make changes to better yourself and your situation shows growth and maturity. I wish you both the best in 2024!

Time spent learning is never wasted. Never. I'm guessing Josh learned about working with a boss and a team, working with the public, running a retail business (he mentioned that), and more. He surely learned about himself which is most important. Bravo for trying something new, something out of your comfort zone for a while. I consider that a significant success. Kudos to Megan for supporting Josh in his endeavors.

Josh is so humble and I'm so glad he tried something new for awhile. No man working a job to support a family is a failure. ❤ And my husband is similar in that he grew up in a family business. He got tired of it and branched off for a bit... now he's the sole owner of the family business. Never would have guessed but God's plan and timing is perfect.

Josh went on a new adventure and learned new skills in food service…I always thought Josh should get back to construction because its where his skills are. Your skills from age 15 are so valuable. We have a shortage of construction workers in Wisconsin. Josh, you are also an amazing father with all your children including your baby. Wishing you the best Josh in everything you do. I enjoyed you coming on the live today. Thank you! God has a plan for you.

I agree with Josh. His short term job was not a failure. It was an opportunity that God interjected into his life to learn more business sense. I feel we should never look at these changes at failures. Just redirection and refocus. And I hope that with your kids you keep positive influences rather than a failure mentality.

Josh it is good to hear you are back to what you enjoy doing most. The time you spent on the other job for the 8 months was a time to rest from construction and now you are reenergized to get back in. My husband is in construction and people are looking for good, hardworking, knowledgeable and full of integrity construction workers. God has gifted you in this area and your skills. God’s plans are never wrong.

I agree with Josh. He did NOT FAIL !!! he tried something that he was willing to try. He did it,he accomplished it, at the end he knew it wasn't his calling. He is NOT a FAILURE. when women try something and things don't work out no one calls them failures, we say that Failing would be never trying new things in life. it seems that Josh is a level headed man with ambition, he found that he really lived Construction. And like he said, no one knows what God has for him, maybe one day he will want to be a truck driver... he hasn't FAILED you as a husband, he didn't fail as a Dad. So in my humble opinion he is NOT a Failure. You both are a wonderful couple with a beautiful little family. 🙏🙏

Thank you, Josh, for chatting with us! It's not a failure to participate in a mutually beneficial project for a year and then go back to your other work. You learned new skills that you can carry forward into your business and you have an ongoing relationship with your former employer. That's a win-win. A friend of mine has his own remodel/handyman business and he works Tuesday through Friday. He takes Mondays at home; it's his office day to do all the paperwork.

Failure has two definitions. In my brain (I’m a teacher, and I know Megan was by trade before children), I associate the second textbook definition, which is “the omission of expected or required action”. No, Josh did not lack success in his endeavor (the other definition), but the plan was probably to stay with the new venture longer than he did. Thats how I interpreted the word when Megan said it. Anyone who regularly sets goals, and continually self-evaluates probably does not see failure as a negative thing. Just wanted to add another perspective, and give clarity and encouragement to. It’s ok to “fail”, it’s the best way to learn!

I’m excited for Josh! It’s so good too to have your own sons work for you, my husband said our sons were the best workers he ever had when they joined him in construction. We now have a different business construction related but selling the product, still a joint venture with our sons. My husband gets calls too from former customers from years ago and it’s always kind of hard to pass them on to someone else. It’s really hard to work for someone else when you’ve been your own boss and such a need for workers skilled in building/remodeling. Blessings to you!

I haven’t tuned in for awhile due to ongoing health issues but you both are so refreshing to watch. You both have grown spiritually and are exuding the love of Christ. Its so amazing to hear that God is directing your paths through it all. It is so wonderful that you spend quality time with your kids. I see so many parents on their phones, ignoring their kids in restaurants and at home because they think social media is more important. Kids grow up so fast and these will be the best years of your lives. I look back at those precious memories of raising our kids and
I don’t regret any of the sacrifices of time that I made for them. We never know what tomorrow brings so hold on to them today. Many blessings to you and your family. 🙏🏻

It's great to try new things, jobs, and all the people you met can hire you in your next adventure. Definitely get the word failure out of the discussion.
My kids have been out of the house almost as long as I had them home. Lovely successful people, and the grandkids are pure joy. So much more fun energy when we have them around.
    Happy New Year!
Set goals, but sometimes God has his own ideas.

I love this channel and you and Josh! I feel in the same position as him. I took a full time job outside of my family business last January because I too was feeling burnt out. And made the decision to leave that job to come back to the family business in November. And I agree with Josh I don’t consider it a failure! I learned a lot and don’t regret it. I too need the flexibility and it makes me appreciate the family business more this time. ❤

I’m with all the other commenters… I don’t see what Josh did as failure at all! Life is all about experiences and doing what is right for you at specific times in your life. They say very few people stay in one job or career for their whole life these days and it’s definitely true for me and most of my peers (I’m 40).

I’m a mom of 2 who has a full time job/career outside my house (or I will, when I go back from maternity leave 😅) and I think you are a career woman! I mean that in the best way possible, but you have a shop, a successful UA-cam channel, and podcast! That’s a career 🎉! Everyone should find what works for them! Also for anyone “older” (like me 😅), I got married when I was 26, and had my two kids at 31 and 35, and I’m very happy with that, and when I had my first baby I felt super confident about it! I hope to have one more, if God wills it! So just fodder for anyone who is pondering their life.

Happy for Josh going back into construction. Seems like there’s always plenty of work in that line these days! Truck driving is the best fit for my husband. He tried another occupation for a couple years, but came back to trucking as it’s ‘in his blood.’:)
Hope the pregnancy is going well and the baby arrives safe and healthy!

Megan, so happy for your accomplishments this year!! At the beginning of the video you spoke about not being rushed and taking the time to enjoy life. I enjoy all of your videos, but today seemed like you were talking so fast, and didn’t take a breath between your subjects. I was trying to listen to everything carefully but couldn’t tell when you were changing ideas. I feel like you were trying to explain and sum up the year, which was nice. I just felt like you were rushing so much!
You always, put so much effort into your work, and I can be the first to say how much I enjoy it.
Thank you, for all that you do and you are always sharing your ideas to help everyone!
Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy new year! So excited for your new blessings in the upcoming year!!!!

I’m older and love watching you and Josh go through your different Chapters of life. Time goes by so fast so it looks like you two are pretty much on track with your family. Nothing wrong with setting goals and having new visions for your future. Step out and try new and different things, some may work and some may not but it’s a learning experience..One day Josh may be able to enter his season of driving truck or maybe not but it doesn’t hurt to add it to your goals. There’s no law that says we have to be held to one thing..step out and live life!! God first always, seek him and things will fall into place..Blessings!!
