I'm so bummed that I just discovered The Swell Season after watching the movie "Once" yesterday. Can't get enough of their beautiful work.

Wow, awesome, haunting, beautiful, emotional, moving. This is why I LOVE the Swell Season & the Frames & to have them together, so cool!! And this is why I love God for creating music! Gorgeous.
The entire essence of this performance seems to give you an emotional taste of what Glen and Marketa probably felt during the breaking up of their relationship..the entire album is really like that but this performance in particular shows it hardcore. I really like this version better than the album version too.

For me personally she is one of the best singers around (and I am a singer myself) because she has the qualities I look for in a grand voice. Strength is something she could develop but it is not essential, I believe.

Please I'm looking for a song that featured in this episode, I remember it from years ago but it seems it has vanished from youtube :( I can't remember the name but I remember Glen playing that song that felt almost angry. If anyone remembers at the least the name of it I'll be eternally grateful.
I love how Marketa just nods and smiles at the very end of the video meaning "this was wonderful". :)
By far the best version of this song. Her amazing voice combined with her guitar playing is mesmerizing. The gentle piano which falls in quietly understands and respects this. How wonderfull to hear her speak in her native Czech language. One can sense the earnest and honest passion in her music. I don't believe it is possible to listen and watch her without wishing you were the one she loved. I surrender, Ms. Irglova. Meet you at the Centrum Miasto in Praha at noon on your next birthday....

@LyricFapton I agree. I think, respectfully, it's kind of like a girlfriend wearing her lovers sweater or something like that. It's just kind of the stamp that you are connected with that person, you know, a part of something they use everyday.
I saw them in Cork. Was the same kind of gig as Sarahs one in Dublin. Just pure musical intimacy, the most amazing gig I've ever been to. I even managed to get my hand on the set list for the night! Which glen naturally didnt stick too and went on about five songs longer than he was meant to =]
