- Focal Point celebrated our annual Scottish October with The Tannahill Weavers!!
Traditional Celtic music at its best! With fire-driven instrumentals and songs, haunting ballads and a good dose of humour, the Tannahill Weavers have transformed traditional Scottish material and brought it into the modern world, vitally alive and kicking.
Members of the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame, in 2021 the Tannies were joined by exciting piper and fiddle player Iain MacGillivray, who is also Scotland's youngest Clan leader. Iain, a fluent Gaelic speaker, has worked on such exciting productions as Outlander and Men in Kilts, and has performed for a huge list of stars and dignitaries in recent years.

Saw the band on the tour a couple weeks after this show in Oregon. What a vital force, fantastic musicianship, great humor, and deep connection to the roots! Not only Scottish roots, but their music ties us all to our roots in rhythm and song.

I've never seen them live, but I have all the cds. Love the Tannahill Weavers music. Seeing it performed brings another layer to the experience. Slainte' Mhaith.
I've seen the band 1985 and 1991 in Germany, Ludwigshafen. Folk-musik at it's best. All the best Roy, Phil and the other members of the band :-)
