    I've been a fan of your PC for a long time, and have in the last 6 months started getting into night vision, but what I really like about your setups is that it covers the low light sphere. As prior military we were taught not to use white lights with any switches because we could ND them so easily but as I utilize my DBALD2 I realize that I need a switch because the variety of situations makes it sort of critical to setup my gun in a manner to cover all bases.

      The internet at large misses the boat on a lot of this stuff. When running under NODS my red dot is set at max brightness for passive aiming through white light when I need to PID a target that I can’t under NVG.
      Having it switched to work well together is the way.

    Glad I find your channel man. Not many new channels get me to bother. Well thought out and applied tactics and good presentation. Mucho appreciated

    Sick build

    Ducking your head into the stock is fine. Dont underestimate a good cheek weld for recoil control.

      Cheek welds win on shot timers, but shooting the wrong thing really fast is still bad. I prefer to stay as heads up as possible as much as possible. Also doesn’t work well with passive aiming or when wearing masks. I have a video on optic height coming soon.

    I don’t have nods or plan to get them anytime soon. I’ve considered getting a vis laser but the consensus I’ve gotten from the community is they are stupid and “not cool”
    It sounds like you like them? Would you suggest getting just a vis laser or is it only beneficial if I’m also going IR and nods.
    Do you know why vis lasers get so much hate?

    • @adamcallahan242
      @adamcallahan242 5 місяців тому +1

      They get so much hate, because alot of people who don't use them in their real job heard a guy or two who actually had experience with it and didn't like it for whatever reason. The gun community really are a bunch of dick riding weirdos who don't get enough real world experience with their tools and kit, and hop from trend to trend because a cool guy said so. Bottom line is, buy and use what works for you and your group if you're a part of one. Just my two cents.

      Lasers definitely have legit uses, even without NV.
      Don't listen to the Laser Fudds. Lol
      Do research AND your own testing in order to discover what works for you.
      There are some hard fast Do's and Don'ts, but other things are varied based upon your needs and preferences.
      Always research things and test ( if possible).
      Good luck!!

      If you don’t have NODS you won’t need IR. I think having white light and green laser (assuming red dot on rifle) that work together is awesome. The laser can lead you to fire when you’re not into the rifle well but training is what makes all this work together well anyway. Do a switch that gives you light and laser together. Holosun makes vis only laser that should work fine for this purpose.

    Hey I'm a nobody. Basic infantry, one deployment. So I'm just asking,... These tall mounts? Has anyone considered just making a taller butt stock? Like a back of the butt stock extender. Keep both your head up and your cheek weld. Again I'm asking any retired ninja who I think will listen.

      That’s an interesting approach. I just watched the proof for a coming video all about optic height and I think in that you’ll see why just getting the right height for you is the way to go.

      Hopefully, you can back physically and psychologically intact. 👍🏾

    Thank you for explaining the light/laser setup which is especially helpful for me! Question: which spray paint did you use for the suppressor? I'm afraid of painting mine because I thought paint won't withstand such high heat.

    • @timmarshall3651
      @timmarshall3651 5 місяців тому +1

      It’s RAPCO. You just need to know it’ll burn and turn brown in the center of the suppressor. Mine are both burnt but they’re fine and look great.

    I have the short LWRC stock for my 10.5 LWRC which has not come in yet. waiting patiently. how do you like it? I would like to get into night vision but hard to swallow the cost when Im not active duty or swat. but it sure seems fun. the china brand you are trying out might be a bit cheaper at least. I typically don't buy cheap but man it's spensive.

    • @timmarshall3651
      @timmarshall3651 5 місяців тому +1

      I have the LWRC ultra compact on a 10.5 for my son. I use the larger Compact stock, it’s one position shorter than a SOPMOD and has been working great.

    Did you have to shim your somo gear picatinny mount in order to have it hold zero? Mine was wider than my rail.
    Second can you confirm that the unity axon switch works with the somo gear port? The somo gear website says you have to use their switch.

    • @timmarshall3651
      @timmarshall3651 5 місяців тому +1

      I didn’t have to modify mine but I need more time on it to know if it’ll hold up. The UNITY switch is working great. It’s funny using a $300 switch on a $450 laser but that’s life I guess.
