Welcome to the Simply Mamá Cooks UA-cam Channel! I am a Mom to a blended Korean / Mexican American family that loves to share what I cook in my home. I am still learning and enjoy the process of making home-cooked food.

So good!! I love making this. It makes me think of my sweet mama in Heaven. Thank you for sharing 🥰❤
I did a study abroad in Mexico and it took about 14 hours of travel before finally getting to my house. The host had hot albòndigas soup waiting. So this soup has a special place in my heart.
Yummy! Next video you should totally do Sloppy Joe's 😊
I love Albondigas ..my problem making it is that my meatballs always taste chunky..not like smooth…I even once blended my meat …umm no. I will give yours ago😊
My dad learned this in the Army when he was a cook and my grandma would cook it. One of my favorite childhood memories.
AGAIN, dear lady! My mom made it just like you do, I loved it with corn added. Albondigas would be perfect on still-chilly Vermont nights here this week. And, now, I'm hungry. Haha
Mmm i love caldo but my family hates that i make it often lol im from the coachella valley and it gets to be 120 out here, and you know when you make caldo, thats all were eating for the next 3 days for breakfast lunch and dinner 😂
I loveeee your recipes!!!! Definitely get excited for any soup recipes! Thank you
Childhood memories in full effect with this video. Love it!
Looks amazing!
Another question not related to this really..but when you roast peppers …can you do them a day before? A lot of recipes call for the charred peppers..they take me too much time and I get flustered
I have been a LONG LONG TIME FOLLOWER and bought your cook book . Today I had to find you. UA-cam UNSUBSCRIBED ME!!!
I LOVE your charisma, the way you make me feel like im a close friend. How you give us step by step presentation along with the ingredients ❤
My old BFs mother use to cook a huge cauldron of this. She'd add onions in the pot too. A sprig of fresh cilantro after plating. She offered lime juice and heated tortillas. My bf scooped with them after drinking the liquid. Reminds me of eating fajitas. Lol. He was born in the Solare/ mid way between downtown TJ and the Playas up on the hill. If you have ever been to TJ. This was so long ago that Otay border crossing was a trickle. I'd drive up another hill to bypass sitting for hours to go a longer way but way faster. Then it was at most 5 min but usually just slow down and you were waved through if you drove a regular vehicle. Well for the most part. Lol. I dated a guy before him that owned 2 car dealerships there. Boy oh boy.. even adults are mommy whipped.. She didn't like a Guadita dating her son. Lol. We stayed friends though . Mainly because we helped each other in business. I worked in Auto auctions in California.
I just made this yesterday. From your old recipe though! It's always a hit!
Looks delicious 😋
I will be giving this recipe a try, only with chicken stock since I have 5 quarts of it in the fridge. Perhaps it won't be authentic but I'm sure it'll turn out good.
Also, thank you for the celiac-friendly recipe!
Recipe looks awesome and that’s a beautiful pot! You always have the most unique and beautiful cookware
💚💚
Se be muy bueno ! 😋 Cocinas muy excelente !
This looks amazing! I had to laugh when you mentioned that some people think cilantro tastes like soap. I’m just curious as to how many people have actually eaten soap? Keep up with the great videos!
My mom always said it tasted like soap. Not me, I love cilantro! I always say that I wish there was a perfume that smelled like it!
Thank YOU for sharing!! ♥️
I use fresh oregano yerbabuena and parsley also delicious 😋 with ground turkey, I’ll try your recipe 👍🏻🥣😋
My mouth is watering another great recipe Angelica😊
I wish I could make this tonight! I have been trying to figure out something different to do with my pound of hamburger for dinner. I have everything except a tomato and the guajillo pepper. Wonder what I could substitute...
Maybe some hot sauce or salsa?
❤All that I can say is yummy !
I can't even count how many times your videos have inspired me! I was born and raised in South Texas and have access to so much good Mexican food but making it at home is just so special. I will be making this soon.
I just love ❤albondigas soup with some salsa and lemon 🍋 juice and your corn tortillas getting hungry just thinking 💭 about it best wishes from Edcouch Texas Familia Aguila 🙋♀️🙏♥️👍
This looks Fabulous 🎉❤
Yummy❤
This looks really good. Saved in my soup file for when the weather gets cooler. I have a question. I cannot eat red meat. Have you ever made the meatballs with ground chicken on ground turkey? If so how did you like them. This soup is one of my favorites. Thanks for posting. Have a great day!
I make albóndigas with ground turkey and we love that soup 🥣
I add fresh oregano yerbabuena and parsley finely chopped along with the rice egg and salt 👍🏻🥣
@@CarmenRamirez-hc2fh Thank you Carmen, I was missing my albondigas. Have a great day!
@@MsTeck883 thank You !!😊
I’m glad you’ll enjoy albóndigas it happened to me and loved the turkey recipe. 👍🏻 you too have a great day!! ♥️
I need to find Mexican squash to try in soup. I love soup but always assumed squash in soup would be mushy. Ewww! I’m guessing Mexican squash has a firmer texture? Correct??
Chayote squash would be great!
Use zucchini. It tastes exactly the same.
@@bettyir4302 Not mushy?
@@jenjoy3215 At 5:45 both the Mexican squash (aka calabacita) and zucchini are mentioned. They taste the same, they cook the same and they cost the same. The only difference is the zucchini we usually see in US stores are about an inch longer and darker skin. It's like yellow squash tastes and cooks the same except they're yellow and have a weird shape. Yes, they'd all be exchangeable in the soup and they'll get mushy if they cook a while. During the lockdowns, zucchini was hard to get so your grocery order may have substituted calabacitas and the stores hoped customers would just think they got short zucchinis.
However, if using chayote, as someone posted, it won't be as mushy and will be sweeter. A raw chayote is hard like an apple and is sort of pear shaped. Cut the seed part out and peel it if the skin seems too tough. It can be used raw but usually, I slice it, saute it with cinnamon and sugar and serve it with pork chops. Its cooked texture is much like apples and tastes almost like sauted apples but with a hint of squash taste.
Dear Sweet Mama...I don't know if you will see this comment in time, but just wishing you a blessed and happy Mother's Day. Thank you for all the wonderful recipes throughout the year!
Hi A!!! Your Soup sure does look nice and tasty. I will have to give this a try. YUMS!!!... Your nails look real pretty...Great Video my friend!!!...🦋
Yummy 🤤 Barbara
I’m making abondigas soup today my boy’s asked for it , I use mint in my soup but I blend it I also use turkey ground beef it’s more moist it’s not dry like beef also I use consume de chicken.
I definitely made abondigas using your recipe. It’s simple like making caldo with beef broth. Then you add meatballs! Thank you for the comfort food 🍲
I’ve been dying for this soup! Good timing.
Just made this and it’s so delicious!!!! I didn’t have the guajillo chile but it was still delicious! Thanks again to another delicious recipe of yours!
I had a version where the meatballs had been roasted and then added towards the end of the soup being fully cooked along with the juices and it was fantastic!
Once I’ve mixed the meatball mixture I make the meatballs and drop them into the boiling soup.
😮 yeah memories, I having a hard time remembering, but I think my grandmother put hard boiled eggs in the middle of the meat ball?? Or different soup.
Looks sooooo good! Have to try for sure 😊
My mom made this soup exactly like you but her favorite was mint leaf with the soup..❤ I will make it with a little albahaca today.
Great shot at making this but some advice that meatball making part way to long and too much talking I had to fast forward to ge to the point .
Maybe make the video straight to the point
In Rumania cocinamos caldo de albóndigas también pero the mexican style se ve mas sabroso!
Brown the meatballs first for more flavor and texture.
Can you tell me the difference between chayote and squash? I really don't know 😞
I'm going to make this for sure it looks delicious I'm the guy that doesn't have the oven I can make this haha
Her pots are beautiful... anyone know the brand?
Ring 💍 off when making my meatballs Lady😛
standard soup my mom cooks. I like corn on the cob chunks in it.
Hey! Do you have a recipe for huaraches with the beans inside them?
My favorite i like the albondigas with mint but cilantro is fine too
I live this and I can just not get the caldo right will try this cross ur fingers lol ❤
I’m one of the people who has the genetic disorder of tasting soap when eating cilantro. I really wish I didn’t, I have no idea how cilantro actually tastes to normal people 😢
Slightly minty so distinct and flavorful
this looks yummy. how about a video on how to make posole
Could toasted fideo replace rice in Meat?
Saw this thumbnail and made meatloaf sandwiches😂. Now I’m back to watch and this looks so good! I’ll have to try, meatloaf is one of my faves.
omg yummmmm
Thank you for sharing Angelika have a blessed day stay safe and healthy. Looks Amazing yummy. 😋😋😋🙏❤🙏❤🙏
I had never heard of Albondigas until I watched the movie "Fools Rush in" Selma Hayaks character mentioned this sort of meatball suop, Albondigas. This was years ago. I researched recipes and found so many different ways to make it I was confused. Then while visiting Phoenix a popular restaurant had it on the menu. I finally got to taste their version. I loved it. I tried copying it and have been making it since. Lol I have tried a few other recipes, as well as trying other restaurants. The one I make has no chilis and has mint instead of cilantro. Lol plus after awhile I started buying frozen mini meatballs instead of making my own.
But now I want to try your recipe and see how we like it. Thanks!
Awesome recipe thanks
You are soooo sweet! Love your page! Simply Wonderful! ❤️❤️❤️
I can't wait to make this! I've learned so much about cooking from you. I'm new to calabacita squash and chayote. Would the calabacita be interchangeable in recipes that call for zucchini or yellow squash? And what does chayote taste like and what dishes does it go best in? Thanks for all of your videos. You make such good food in such a personable way.
This was soo good! I wanted it a bit spicier so the only extra thing I added to the puree was my habeneros from my back yard 🥹 This recipe is so delicious though!! Thank you! ❤
I have always wanted to know how to make this soup!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! God Bless!!!
I was just talking about this last night with friends saying I never have this, and then boom you post this 🤣. Now to make this and impress them this weekend since they love when I make food

I made this today, it was delicious. I added some fresh corn on cob because I didn't want them to go to waste. Thanks for sharing!
Yum 👍
Once more , you hit it out of the park! I bet this is incredible! Thank you.

Omg it's almost done. Perfect way to end an awesome day. My kitchen smells soooo good
If you add corn instead of zucchini, do you put it in at the same time as the carrots or later?
Looks delish!
Oh my word! Just made this and it is so easy and fun to make! It turned out fantastic! Thank you so much for this awesome recipe!
So gonna try this! It's looks so so delicious!!!!

Buenas recetas.....de mi niñez
Love this recipe. 👍
Looks delicious
Childhood ❤
Hate to say it but these aren’t half teaspoons you’re adding, more like half TABLESPOON. Please be aware of spice measurements because others may not realize this. If following this video by your measurements alone, the dish would come out very under seasoned. There’s a big difference between a tablespoon and a teaspoon.
No no no! You bake or cook meatballs in a pan first. Then add to liquid.
can you add kombucha squash and spinach?
