So grateful my Mother showed me this as a young girl. It surpassed the Disney version that all the girls I grew up watching. Anytime I was ever able to show them the wonder of this movie was a treasure. This is my Cinderella. She is perfect
this song always brings me back to when i was little and I got this song sung to me by gemma craven one night as a lullabye. Love you gemma! best godmother in the world! xxx
How lucky! I grew up watching this movie and there will never be a more perfect and beautiful Cinderella. Her voice and beauty has stuck with me all these years.
The sad thing about this scene is it reminds me so much of real life, not many people believe in love such as this anymore and just care about hight, looks or chest size rather than personality. We are forever trapped in a world in which nearly every one would rather give up on love because of their careers or because the prize money divorce gets you is too tempting to resist and a world in which the good guy gets the girl only on TV or in films, in real life it's just a dream so is he so is her
Maybe. I actually think that this movie's real message is that *even in such a world* true love can triumph anyway. And wasn't that *always* the message of *all* the Cinderella stories, books, plays, movies, right from the very beginning? Yes. Always. I love this song so much because it shows (from the heart) that they *do* love each other and that's *why* they really do deserve to be together. Okay, maybe in real life they wouldn't. But do you really *know* that for sure? No. You don't.
Actually you sound sort of jaded. Maybe a bit too much so. While it's true that not very many people *actually* find their true love or their perfect match, there are tons of people who are looking for (at the very least) a decent personality to suit theirs reasonably well, instead of just an indecent breast size or shape displayed as prominently as possible in public. Just saying.
No, in real life such people exist but they live far apart and they *finally* meet when they are about maybe 35 to 45 and they are lucky if they even can get together then.
Putting the greater good / bigger purpose ahead of our wants. Real love is unselfish and unfortunately it hurts! but it brings about blessings for others. Hopefully those others appreciate it.
this is my favourite song from the film (including 'Once i was loved' and 'melody' at the end). Best film ever in my opinion. I watched the tape to bits so we had to get the DVD to replace it xD. Never get tired of watching even though i know it off by heart and can practically say all the lines whilst watching it lol. Also bought the piano music for it haha. Yes i'm obsessed with this film.
It's been years since I watched this (we had it on recorded on VCR, no idea what happened to it in the multiple moves over the years) but I always loved this song.
To me there’s only ever been one Cinderella and one Prince Charming and there both in this film even been known to copy her hairstyle on occasion love it
This Movies Is Amazing Loved It Since I Was Likee 3 Which Was 12 Years Ago :L It''s One Of My Secret Pleasures :L Okaay ima Go Look For It Now So I Can Watch It
Thank you for adding this movie content. I have missed this movie. I started watching on "Once I was loved." I thought I am so glad I love myself now. This song is a wonderful display of how unworthy most people feel about themselves. She is so kind and yet so sad. I hope I can watch this whole movie this week. It really shows so many of my feelings.
I don't get the sense from the film that Cinderella doesn't see herself as worthy of the prince (although if Cinderella had spent many years enduring her stepmother's abuse, this would be a definite possibility and it would put an interesting new spin on the story). However, in this instance, my interpretation is that Cinderella wants to spare the prince as much pain as possible because she loves him so dearly and she's doing whatever she can to save him. She thinks that if they can make the prince believe it is dishonesty and duplicity which makes her unworthy rather than lack of noble blood, losing her will not cause him any sorrow and he will only feel anger and resentment because she was able to deceive him.
Exactly. She never said that she *is actually* unworthy of him or of his love. Her point (which seems difficult to miss) is that he is supposed to think she is evil, worthless, heartless, cruel, left him because she did not even ever genuinely love him in the first place and so on and so forth, because otherwise he would just follow her and find her. Problem. It isn't going to work. He's too smart to be that easily tricked. Listen to the words. *She* wants *him* to think that she was crafty, deceitful, etc., and therefore a worthless little slut and not even worth his time, so that he won't go *looking* for her. Never did she ever say that *she feels* that way about herself. Period.
He not only wouldn't be tricked by an *actual* worthless whore/tramp/slut, he won't be tricked into believing his girl *is* one *either*. Some people just...have better sense than that. Like all or most of the best kings and princes in the *actual* fairy tales that are in the fairy tale books, isn't it so? Too smart to be tricked by just any old pack of lies. You'd have to lie *extremely* cleverly to be able to fool them.
PLS: don't you anyone have english subtitles of this film? Well, I understand it quite well, but in some scenes I am not sure what are they saying. Or screenplay would help me too... thanks
I do find it quite ironic that they went through all this and then found they could still let the Prince and Cinderella be together AND have peace between the kingdoms thanks to the Prince’s cousin!
This is one of my favorite songs from the film and brings up such a unique idea that I've yet to see in any other Cinderella film. I always hated how the film just quickly throws this sacrifice she made out the window by the godmother just showing up and having her barge into the prince's wedding dressed in a wedding dress (showing an act of selfishness). :[
The point of the godmother bringing her back is not that she was being selfish, but that (because she and the Prince loved each other so much) it would be much better in the end for the kingdom to be ruled by a couple who actually loved each other than a couple that forced themselves to stick together. The Prince is not the same as his father. The King was able to suppress his emotions and his uncertainty and play the part of the King and husband in a way that the Prince never would be able to. The kingdom would be put into turmoil due to the friction in the royal house. The godmother took matters into her own hands to try and prevent years of unpleasantness by putting the royals through a few hours of awkwardness.
Decades on and I'm still loving this 😍 Gemma Craven was perfection
I love this song. It always makes me cry. Such an amazing film as well, so different from the usual Cinderellas
This would be Cinderella in reality. Their love doesnt fit in the politics or station of the prince
I know. But it fits anyway in the end.
Because of...just a little bit of magic? ^___^
Been watching it all over and over again. I love Richard Chamberlain and the Cinderella ❤

This beautiful girl was my grandmothers neighbour and could hear her beautiful voice from the back garden ❤️
How lovely! ❤
Omg so lucky her voice is perfect
I hope she was kind to your grandma. Many actors get snobby.

What a wonderful touch when the petals fall from the rose.

Sara, I saw this movie about fifteen times. It got me through a VERY hard period in my life.

If only all heartbreak had this at the root.
yesterday i saw the movie and this song made me cry...
THis is my all time favorite movie... now to get my copy back from my mom!!!
I would have loved them to extend it to where he relay the deed was done to the king. Then the king said she had the heart of a princess.
Yep, I had to say"your majesty, the deed is done" in my head to finish the scene.
(remorseful) She certainly behaved like a princess.
This is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard, aside from 'Holes in the Floor of Heaven' and 'What Hurts the Most'. This almost made me cry.
heartbreaking :-(
I just wish this song had more verses...
Most beautiful song i've ever heard :D
Loved this version
Tell him anything but that I love him.
HO painful a experiance and enjoyable and mapping a PAN
Thank you
Reminds me of Rose of Versailles.
I love to sing along to this song in this scene. It use to be my most favourite movie for many years when growing up. 🫶
Best Cinderella movie!🤗
I got my copy free with the Daily Mail few weeks ago :) yay!
PLS: don't you anyone have english subtitles of this film? Well, I understand it quite well, but in some scenes I am not sure what are they saying. Or screenplay would help me too...

I just noticed the carriage and horses were all black like they were mourning. I like to think the castle staff was sad too and joining in her grief.
I do find it quite ironic that they went through all this and then found they could still let the Prince and Cinderella be together AND have peace between the kingdoms thanks to the Prince’s cousin!
5:37 for the song.
MagicJems has the full thing uploaded...
Hannah, I love you. Thanks mate. xx
Ebay, or Bittorrent...
I know right.
5:33 . You're welcome :)
dus anyone no what the guys real name is in this section of the video
FlyingEagle666 Kenneth More
I got it from ebay.
The ending is all messed up. Cinderella is supposed to get the prince. Not sent into banishment. That’s ridiculous.
This is not the ending ... think of it as the end of act II (act II beginning with "Position and Positioning").
Watch the whole movie.
Grad school. :)

The actual song takes up less than half the video. Lol.
