The Pels are gonna blow up their salary cap for at least the next 5 years on the Lakers' failed loser "young core". They would've been better off letting AD play out his contract and lose him for nothing (one season of Zion+AD) than trade him for the "young core" the Lakers refused to extend. They already gave stat-padder Ingram the max. Now they'll either have to extend Ball this summer or trade him for penny on the dollar. If they had lost AD for nothing, they could've built around Zion, clear out cap space, and the Zion hype might have been able to attract elite veteran free agents.
Zion's ceiling is Larry "Grandmama" Johnson. Johnson was great in the '90s (before injuries sapped his athleticism and he reinvented himself as a role player) and formed an entertaining dual with Alonzo Mourning on the Hornets, but he was never elite and didn't take the Hornets anywhere. Wow. Since when have you had this kind of production quality? Seems like you've evolved a lot. Best vid of yours I've seen by far. Keep up the great work!
A good example would be baseball.... rarely are there 19 year olds on the all star team. Mlb players' "prime" is generally considered to be from 24-30.
I literally think that the hype is only down because he's not doing the same insane dunks that he did in HS and at Duke. That's it. If you stop doing crazy dunks and highlight plays as much, HOH, ESPN, and BR won't post/care about you as much. Even if the Pelicans were still bad and he was doing crazy dunks night after night that he would still have the hype. It's sad to say but that's the way it is. Those platforms have the core guys they post about (Lebron, Steph, Lamelo) and Zion fell off the list, resulting in less casual fans seeing him. They know him as the dunk guy, and if he's not doing as many dunks, and if he's not getting posted, the hype dies. This might be the best thing for him though, takes some of the pressure off so he can keep getting better and developing his game in the shadows. I think he's already great
Hype is also that thing that makes players who weren't High prospects in high school and college looks so much better when they ball out in the NBA like Butler, Curry, Harden, Dame, etc
no cap jacob, u look like Valančiūnas this time around, saw the tweet u know, got burnt pretty bad, btw loved the video, have a great day cause I'm going to bed; I live in India u know, take care, byyy

Everytime i get hyped i get dissapointed ,the only one who lived to the hype and expectations i think its lebron james, everyone else has been crushed by the expectations .
Media is looking for a human highlight reel that’s why. If Zion was doing the insane dunks we’ve all grown to love him for they’ll still be hyping him up. Obviously coming in he dealt with early nagging injuries which forced him to reevaluate his play style and it changed him for the better. Obviously he’ll dunk on you with ease without a second thought but he’s very conservative on the risk he takes. Long story short I don’t think he’s tryna end up like Blake Griffin.
Sounds bad I feel he lost that highlight reel style of play, he's still awesome to watch but at duke he was just more fun to watch, idk if it bc of weight or injuries but yeah his lobs and dunks and blocks just dont look quite the same... Thats why he was hyped bc of that stuff, but theres no doubt he's a great player
Probably injuries. Looks like he's playing a lot safer basketball now. He might lose hype, but his play could be the difference between getting 1 max contracts or getting 2 max contracts during his career. I couldn't see him playing very long how he was going before
I didn’t think I could like watching this dude and his content anymore than I already did, then he said his favorite game was The Last Of Us, and it proved me so wrong, so fast. A true man of culture
people forget that there's a huge difference between dominating high school and college kids, and being able to dominate world class players all if not most nba players were elite during high school and college
Another thing about hype which you slyly touched on is age. As in the age you are when the hype comes. kids get hyped easily but as we grow and "seen it all" things become less glamorous

Also: The NBA expanded the teams competing in the Bubble, just so we could get more Zion... even though they had to like win all games to may be make the PlayOffs...
No they invited every team that was actually able to get in the playoffs even if it was the smallest chance. Look at the suns they won every game and still didn’t make it
Wow. Since when have you had this kind of production quality? Seems like you've evolved a lot. Best vid of yours I've seen by far. Keep up the great work!
Cam you imagine Zion Williamson playing in Madison Square Garden??
Yeah 30 wins a year for the worst franchise in sports. Good stuff
Great vid man and the way you're changing the channel is great and I'm really liking the newer videos.
I don’t think it’s very fair to expect a 19 year old kid to come out and be as good as a hall of famer
A good example would be baseball.... rarely are there 19 year olds on the all star team. Mlb players' "prime" is generally considered to be from 24-30.
Dawg I’m pretty sure you hitting a mili by the end of the year the amount of content and quality is unreal
Ever since I was a youngster and was promised Derrick Williams would be the messiah I never buy into draft hype.
Dude ur new vids look so sick. I’m so happy that you changed it up, it looks soooo good
I literally think that the hype is only down because he's not doing the same insane dunks that he did in HS and at Duke. I think he's already great
Love the new format, might subscribe because I used to hate watching you sitting in your office
He's an absolute beast though. I really hope he has a great career!
Hype is also that thing that makes players who weren't High prospects in high school and college looks so much better when they ball out in the NBA like Butler, Curry, Harden, Dame, etc
Didn’t know Thomas satoransky started UA-cam
Oh you didn’t ?
LOVE this new series, thanks Rusty
He’s averaging 25 points this year
When people ask me why I like basketball, I point to your deep dives
that’s a compliment if i’ve ever heard one
@@unlockedaccount thank you, Rusty"s made a good choice with this scheduling - if he can sort out his sleeping pattern he'll be golden
CYYYBERPUNK 2077!!! Why did you do this to me!!!
8:50 it happened to Luka Doncic and Trae Young
Love the new format and I think it’ll help your channel growth a lot. Great move!
no cap jacob, u look like Valančiūnas this time around, saw the tweet u know, got burnt pretty bad, btw loved the video, have a great day cause I'm going to bed; I live in India u know, take care, byyy
You had me cracking up with that creepy mascot thing
I think he’s played up to the hype and been everything as advertised. The problem is he’s not on a winning team.
He’s supposed to make it a winning team lol
But that’s awfully hard to do if you have teammates desperately trying to show how elite they are, and a coach who doesn’t always involve you.
@@darrylwallace2428 he beat the celtics nice
@@larrywhittaker9180 he doesn’t really play the position to carry a team
@@bamuh4506 ur stupid. All the best players are Small Forwards. What r u talk about
Im really diggin your deepdive videos, amazing quality mixed with your personality makes these videos nice af, also touching certain topics from angles other chanels havent yet. Props for the success. However, you do look like zubac -.-
Everytime i get hyped i get dissapointed ,the only one who lived to the hype and expectations i think its lebron james, everyone else has been crushed by the expectations .
I really like the new “on Camera “ style video, also the edition of the video is really good, great job!!!
Imagine watching a BSOLZ video for any reason
What's wrong with that
@@crackds6537 I'm pretty sure making someone watch a BSOLZ video is a war crime
@@tomek6132 oh
Loving the deep dives! Keep it up ive been a fan since july!!
But he's actually good ? Dude is amazing.
? He never said he wasn’t good
There's never been anything like him in the NBA.
I couldn't see him playing very long how he was going before
This new content is so good bro, keep this up and you’ll start gaining traction exponentially i know it
LaMelo stole the hype
this is the same for everything in life. People get hyped for one shiny toy until the next shiny toy is released and the cycle repeats.
Short answer: LaMelo Ball
Long answer: LaMelo LaFrance Ball
I didn’t think I could like watching this dude and his content anymore than I already did, then he said his favorite game was The Last Of Us, and it proved me so wrong, so fast. A true man of culture
day 1 of begging rusty to learn when to use “Less” and when to use “Fewer”
Let's go
These videos already goated keep it up man
let me explain why his hype died this year in one word. Lamelo
Zion’s March madness games were more watched than the 2020 nba finals he was much more hyped than lamelo
Great video, love the new format and big fan... Still waiting on your notes of the spurs this season.
Nba is a dying league, ratings have been crashing through the floor.
I’m starting to live these deep dives and the thumbnails look fire
You’re beautiful haha
Loving this content RustyB!
Perfect example of hype; Every movie trailer over 30 seconds long.
Love the blunt commentary bro, new sub ✌
people forget that there's a huge difference between dominating high school and college kids, and being able to dominate world class players
all if not most nba players were elite during high school and college
Deep Dive is my favorite thing on UA-cam
Another thing about hype which you slyly touched on is age. As in the age you are when the hype comes. kids get hyped easily but as we grow and "seen it all" things become less glamorous
I really like how you make it obvious with the thumbnail trend which ones are the deep dive videos
