Ah, Sunset Hill. This zone is heavily based on the first level of Sonic 1, Green Hill Zone. It also has Green Hill's music in a remix form. Unique gimmicks here include waterslides, tall segmented springs that recoil the player a short horizontal distance, and vertical poles which the player can slide down and jump off of to either side. There are also large, slow-moving floating platforms that can either assist you in navigating the stage or crush you, resulting in an instant death.
This zone ends with a boss fight against Gemerl in Act 3. If this act is completed with Sonic in the lead, a cutscene will play. It will feature Sonic and Tails meeting Knuckles, who expresses his desire to support whatever they are doing, to what Sonic just says that they won't need any help by now.
The boss of Sunset Hill Zone is a large Eggman mech/Gemerl wheel, which rolls around a circular arena and is vulnerable only in a small section.
A switch on the ground temporarily activates a floating platform that both offers protection from the boss and allows you to damage it on the ceiling.
As the boss accumulates damage, it will roll faster and faster, making it more difficult to avoid and precisely attack.

I think Green Hill’s encore mode in Sonic Mania Plus is a callback to this zone.

I don't think it's a callback, it's just Green Hill with a palette change.
1:43-1:49 is the best transition from rolling to running! The sprite animations were top tier!

The ground is less cubey, palmtrees are larger and more detailed, more flowers. Much more bridges that flesh in with the nature. Definitely a good future.

What do you mean they didn’t do too good of a job ? My only complaint is the model of Sonic they use looks more like Sonic mania and there no voice eggman “ you’re going to pay for this “ Other than that it was nearly perfect
I like the way the characters move from one zone to the next after each boss battle.
They run headlong without hesitation towards danger while others flee from it!
They charge full speed ahead, eyes fixed on the horizon!
Blazing the paths less traveled, doing the things that must be done, 'cause if they don't, who will?!

The reason why I say sunset hill has some thing to do with norway is because the sun just keeps on moving north.
That's interesting, never new that.
Miggy sega was doing some research and thats how they got the idea for a norway type texture.

This game confuses me... If it was released during the making of Sonic X, I know it wasn't the 'same' voice actor of Sonic in X and Advance 3. Someone explain this to me? Ryan Drummond in Advance 3 and X, or just one of em?

I feel bad for son. you played the game so much that your very skilled even though the game sucked and was very painful because of the chao

Logan I prefer Sonic Advance 2 though mainly due to my speed preference. Although the Special rings are faster to get you need to get all the Chaos Emeralds with all the Characters excluding Amy. While SA3 you only ned to find the chao in all three stages and get the special key. but meh. Sa3 have better music.
