as long as the connector caps are tight the battery is waterproof and floats
when I bought my bixpy the dealer said to put dielectric grease into the connections. it helps keep it watertight . good video, filled withe enthusiasm. . bixpy is great on my i14t..

$1200 for just for the Bixby will get you a 10ft rigid floor non-brand name inflatable boat, 4hp to 5 hp outboard and an electric trolling motor. Room for 2 people and you can stand while fishing. Had a 10 ft Zodiac few years back with a 6 HP Yamaha, 50 pound marine battery to feed a 30 lb thrust electric motor. Even with 2 adults and fishing gear, you could get it to plane and you were just flying across the lake. It's like the price for just an eBike battery can get a decent mountain bike and a gas motor conversion kit.
I'm a machinist. Is there any reason I can't just modify the bixpy mount so it fits the kayak bracket?

Alex, love the video! I have a question for you that has nothing to do with this video sorry. I am planning on getting my teenage son and daughter an old town PDL 120 and wanted to know will they be able to reach the pedals if they are only 5’7” and 5’5”? They are both still growing though. Thanks for any advice you can provide and keep up the great work!
They should be able to use it without any problems. I’m 5’2” and I can reach the pedals with the seat on second position from the front.

Did you knock the thing off going that deep? I would've bought an extra from intex and kept the motor shallow, but maybe I'm just too shallow...

6:14 I don't think he realises that what is holding the bixpy to the kayak is only the skeg snap latch that isn't designed for that kind of force.
My thoughts too and it's too heavy to be attached to the skeg and it might wobble too much....very poor choice IMO

Can you get a replacement fin? Cut it shorter so the Bixpy will be closer to the bottom of the kayak. Or use the original fin & add a stiffener to the fin so it won't flop around.

Neat, but you literally have a $1200 motor on a $200 kayak. For someone wanting a propelled kayak getting a used hardshell with an actual electric motor seems to be not only cheaper but way more practical.
