A lot of the horror in the game comes from the unseen and what happens whenever you fail the calls.

48:42 one of my FAVORITE story lines hidden in this game is, between the PSA video about the Smart Mice, to the poorly typed messages telling you to "quit before you know too much" and "join me in this hole after, its safe here", then this phone message, where a guy clearly gets turned into a mouse, and then finally the office getting a cat, your fey bosses clearly knowing something is up. The Fey are turning people into mice, people who try to quit after learning too much, or prank call their services. VERY cool underscored plot beat.
I wonder if the hole was inspired by the creepypasta The Hidden Webpage where there's a place called the hole, accessed through a spot on a website, and there is a repeated "it's safe here" in emails throughout the story. Legitimately a well written and creepy story with some really strange symbolism.
It's not suprising this hotline doesn't work. Imagine calling a hotline thinking you have mice and they tell you to leave out cheese with bo explanation as to why.
Even worse, imagine having Hobs and in order to not have them go through metamorphosis you have to leave the cheese out every day, now imagine you for whatever reason cant be home for a few days. You have to convince one of your friends to go to your house and leave random foods in random places in your house. How do you explain that to a house sitter?
The music in the intro was unironically fire, i need a full version or the rest of my life will be incomplete. meh, probably wont happen i'll deal with it.

Based on that title I now want a game where you have to convince your callers to die so that their souls can be claimed by the vaguely evil afterlife business that you work for. The goal of each call would be to claim as many souls at once as possible with the cause of death being arguably your fault. Convincing a guy to off himself? One soul. Convincing someone to out the position of themselves and their sibling to the creepy man who just broke into their house? Two souls. Three if you get the then murderer to pick up the phone and get them to sit around long enough for the cops to shoot them. But convincing a mom to drive her family-filled van into the crowd of an oil tank enthusiasts convention? Them's the big bucks. I also want there to be a visual confirmation of their soul arriving and being taken for... processing(?)... by your coworkers. That way we can also have calls where you convince the victim to do something dangerous, but instead of them two other souls show up having been killed by your caller which is still your doing. The obvious issue being 'why would anyone do that... that's stupid' Maybe a few supernatural abilities on your end could spice up the game play. Maybe make them cost a slowly recharging resource like 'devil's contract ink' so you have to decide to speed things up with a power or hope your negotiation skills can get that plane to the ground a bit early. Then of course we would need a background plot involving a group of guardian angels trying to save these people that you are trying to get killed. Would make for a good difficulty modifier too.
You know that it's a good idea when I hold back everything in me to not learn for this in specifics and even then I'm not very convincing. Like I love this concept, but curse you witch, for now, I have this being not done in my conscious!!!!
It could also be your in hell and every soul you get takes a however many years off you sentence or it could be you have a contract to get this many souls into hell and then yours is free to go from your contract. As an autistic person myself I can say that the cause of chat's sudden yippie-ness is a tbh creature. They are small white 4 legged creatures with an emotionless expression on their face, and are known to inhabit houses. You can tell one is in your house from your pillows being turned into a fort, hearing some funny sounds every once and a while, and your comfort nommies being eaten. As an autistic person myself I can say that the cause of chat's sudden yippie-ness is a tbh creature. They are small white 4 legged creatures with an emotionless expression on their face, and are known to inhabit houses. You can tell one is in your house from your pillows being turned into a fort, hearing some funny sounds every once and a while, and your comfort nommies being eaten. (Ok the guy who was leaving those kinda rude comments stopped existing… uh yeah have a good day)
