THANKS!
😃 To all the wonderful people who have supported VideoRevealed 😃 - Навчання та стиль
Powerful! So glad they finally added this feature. Great tutorial as always! [edited to add] WOWZA!!! You can change the CC font, font size, and appearance on the entire transcript with just a few clicks. Very nice.
Yes, it's great but, it's easy to make a closed caption file that doesn't conform to broadcast standards in terms of formatting. So stick to the official fonts for that but for subtitles, you can do anything.
This is what I've been waiting for!!! I recall seeing you demonstrate this ages ago when you were doing a demo of Premiere CS6, and I've wondered how to do it ever since. An incredibly useful tool! Thanks for sharing :D
The original, very old speech to text was not very accurate. That's why Adobe got rid of it. This is so much better and beautifully integrated.
This is a good start. I still would like the ability to insert time stamps into the transcript, for those times when our writers use time stamps as references in scripts.
Yep, couldn't agree more. All the Metadata is there so I'm sure Adobe will add that feature in the future.
Great! You helped me so much! Thanks!
Ah I had no idea! I’m so glad they finally added this. I was surprised that Facebook had such a fantastic transcribing feature for videos but Premiere did not; happy they are finally adopting one.
It's a long time coming but nice that it's finally here.
Thank you!
Thanks. I love your videos Colin. Can you tell me more about the import function? I have someone else edit the transcript using Notepad and return the txt file. More specifically, if you have to convert to a static transcript in order to import the text file, do you recommend doing the export after all the cuts are finished?
Great opportunity to make video, add text for additional content application, strip out audio for podcast with text to read and create a blog - all from the original video.
Yep, lots of creative ways to use it. Next week I have another use for speech to text that I've never seen anywhere. Hope you like it.
Hello sir I do have one question. I am an AE but mostly work on avid shows. I'm on a show and we are using premier, My producers are new to this as well but my question is how or what is the best what to make strings using this feature? In avid you would script sync footage to a script and then you can search that script in avid and it will bring whatever bit you select in the source monitor, which you can then cut into a sequence. Can you do something similar in premier?
Nice topic....
Thanks.
Thanks for your video. The transcript export function needs work. If you're working with a producer or other collaborators, it's common to share transcripts that include speaker name and basic time code in a word doc. Could also be rtf or a text file that retains formatting. Adobe is getting close but this isn't quite there yet.
For full featured collaboration, get ready for this!

@@VideoRevealed Not sure what Frame.io has to do with my comment but it will be interesting to see whether Frame.io is bundled w/ Creative Cloud or an extra change add-on like Adobe's 3D apps.
very goooooooooood
It sure is.
hi..... my setup is not getting connected to the network.. how do i do it
Thanks, Colin. Question... why is the "import transcript" always greyed out? Even in your machine, it doesn't allow to import transcript. Appreciate your expert advice.
Is there any way I can convert video into a transcript and then edit the transcript text to my liking and have the video edits done automatically by premiere? When editing interviews that have b-roll over it this would make things a lot faster...
Can you edit the exported text file and import it back into Premier Pro? So a director looks at the text and moves things around, take things out, etc. Then you import, and the video will be cut accordingly?
Does it generate transcription from Hindi launguage as the language of video?
@VideoRevealed , The speech detect is pretty good, but aboutn 85% accurate so I need to go through and correct wrong words and punctuation. If I want this transcription checkinng to be done by someone else, is there a way I can export the transcript as a readbale file (e.g. .txt), have the person watch the exported video and correct the transcript, send it back to me and then I import it? How do I convert .txt file to a .prtranscript file?
You should definitely make another video folloring this one on how to incorporate this method for proper subtitles brother
I did cover the new closed caption/subtitles here:
ua-cam.com/video/1s2r_Bvt_X4/v-deo.html
Im using Scribie as the adiou website. How can i transcribe the audio from there to text? I can't download the audio from Scribie to upload anywhere.
I have my MP4 documentary / film already up on Prime Video Direct. The only problem is the accepted subtitles timed text. I exported my text as a synched text srt. I can’t find a way on Adobe Premier Pro to give them what they want. Which is DFXP, iTT or SubRip. Any help is welcomed.
Great video, very helpful!
Question: when selecting language to transcribe sequence, can you select a language different from original language of audio?
My video audio is in English but I want to add timely subtitles in French. How should I go about it?
That's translation, which is not the same as transcription. You need to hire someone to translate your video.
@@VideoRevealed thanks for the reply!
Good video. I tried it. But the audio rendering was all the time grey. Do I have do some settings, changes?
I don't really understand what audio you're talking about. If you need more help, contact me here: videorevealed.com/contact/
retranscribe is greyed out for me and isnt working... its such a big problem for me rn cuz i transcribed in the wrong language and cant delete it!
Does this require a good internet connection? I work in the field as a TV photographer/editor, and some times internet is sketchy.
I wouldn't think so because the audio that's sent to Adobe is a very small file compared to the video.
I exportet a transcript as txt file and a collegue made some minor changes. now I can't import the changed transcript txt file. Why? What formats are supported for import?
The Transcript in Premiere Pro contains text plus timing. You can't simply replace the text because there's no timing in it. The proper workflow is to correct the text in the Transcript panel.
I can't seem to cut and past from the transcript pane into a word document. That would be handy when writing intros for segments. Anyone know how to do this?
Export as text file is in the 3 dot menu.
I would have to search the word doc then, We should be able to cut and paste.
if i do not have adobe creative cloud i can not use this feature in premiere pro
I only have the complete Creative Cloud so I can't test it, but have you tried updating to the latest version of Premiere Pro?
Is there a way to use this new transcribe feature for dubbing videos in one language to another? (Example: English video dubbed into Spanish)>
That would be incredible
You can export the .srt file, use a srt translator and reimport the new srt file in your time line
Unfortunatly, it seems that you cannot export a video with multiple srt files you could choose when reading the video (or I missed something)
@@pjgodier Not looking for a .srt caption file. Looking to convert a Premiere transcription and convert it to an audio dub in another language.
@@TechTrainTracks OK, I did'nt understood your need - best
That would be an interesting feature. The only downside would be the pacing/accuracy/meaning since translation is never verbatim. Text to speech is something I've seen in eLearning authoring tools (like SL360) and at best localized accents aren't believable. The nice thing is you can export those audio files from Storyline 360 and bring them into Premiere, but you'll still have to deal with the issues of pacing/accuracy on the video side.
Is there a way to convert this to subtitles or do you still have to do those manually?
the second part of the feature is auto-captioning ,which will create optimal caption segments based on the transcript.
@@Lighty303 Ah, thank you.
Here's my full caption tutorial:
ua-cam.com/video/1s2r_Bvt_X4/v-deo.html
yep
Thanks for watching.
This isn't what it cracked up to be! such a big hoo-ha. Yesterday it worked, Today it's not, I'm told by Adode to do the 'create captions' in chunks, because the server can't cope! so how do you clear the source monitor?? to do the next section?
This is taking as long as doing it the old way!
I'm not sure why you're having issues. I auto transcribed a 30 minute video without cutting into smaller chunks.
@@VideoRevealed I'm not having issues Adobe was, I scrapped it in the end and started again and it worked, I was told by Adobe to do it in chunks but then you can't go and do the rest.
🤔... Oh... Okay... ❤️🧠💪🏾
Thanks for watching.
