I enjoy all of your videos, but your food videos are one of my favorite. I do enjoy how you savor your meal, and the explanation of each item, but it’s the way that u do not change your persona even if u r in a 1 or 5 star Michelin restaurant. Keep enjoying life and all that Paris has to offer, and keep filming. Merci !

Little tips from a native :
Next to Lipp is « Café Louise ». Less tourists, much better food and service.
And for a brasserie experience, « La Lorraine » place des Ternes is a much better option than Bofinger or le Grand Colbert, which are places where you pay a premium for… being in a touristic area 😉

As a waiter, the one who made your crêpes flambées at the Train Bleu made a HUGE mistake : serve alcohol directly from the bottle, into the pan. Always, and I mean ALWAYS pour whatever alcohol you'll need into a small glass and NEVER approach anything flammable with a bottle of alcohol. Unless you want it to burst in flame in your hand. The weird thing is that he had it done properly for everything else : the sugar, butter and orange juice were already in their own pots, with the exact quantity.

@LesFrenchiesTravel La Belle Epoque is 1871 -1913, les Anne's folles is Roaring 20s era. Le Train Bleu is 1900 era, for instance, def Belle Epoque, as is Brassiere Lipp. Bofinger pre dates Belle Epoque.

    • @solangelauthier2381
      @solangelauthier2381 Місяць тому +1

@@bpd9660 No, la Belle Epoque certainly does not start in 1871 (which is only when the Second Empire ends and the Third Republique starts) !!! Le Belle Epoque is the years around 1900. I am a Parisian, I know. Les Années Folles is the 1920s indeed.
Le Train Bleu is Belle Epoque, it opened 1901 and is neo-barock/eclectic/Beaux Arts style. Lipp was founded 1880, redecorated later. Bofinger was founded 1864. Maxim’s was founded 1903, it is Art Nouveau style (curves). La Coupole was founded 1927, it is Art Deco style (geometric, straight lines).
Bofinger is a brasserie, not a brassière (which is infant’s wear). Brasserie is originally a place where they make/sell beer. Now the word describes a large café/restaurant but it still applies to a beer factory.

Bonjour Antoine and Coleen. My first Pavlova was in New Zealand (where it was invented). Your look’s delicious 😊

...wonderful video, I enjoy it, especially when watching your way of eating (table good manners).....not changing your utensils from one hand to another....as some people do.........cutting meat with knife in right hand, then placing knife on the plate and switching fork from left hand to right hand .....and doing it thru a whole meal.....

Please feature Le Dôme next time. I believe it is the sister restaurant to La Coupole. Magnificent!

We went to Le Dôme today particularly for their amazing boulliabaise, which was exceptional and a very generous portion! The service was very professional and also welcoming, we were made to feel very pampered and the food and presentation was worth every euro! And the Napoleon millefeuille for dessert was light as air! We splurged for a special birthday celebration and it was so worth it! And thank you Les Frenchies for your many recommendations which we found so useful for our trip this past week.

    It was absolutly delicious !😋👍
These are not "restaurants", they are "brasseries". So they serve very simple dishes that workers used to eat with their beer.
    French old "fastfood".
But in France, even basic dishes are fresh and tasty.

      Careful with the baby.
I saw a couple, who are french, not very welcome by the maitre de salle, who also pointed out to the couple that there was no place to change the baby either.
Very strange as he seemed to have no problem with people who had a dog, which can make lots of noise, and could pee or poop on the floor. At least a baby has a diaper.
I guess the Pope is right when he said people today accept and fawn over their dogs rather than putting babies first.

Thanks for the tour of these great restaurants! Bofinger has been one of my very favorites! yikes the etiquette police are watching and what did they see??? YIKES...elbows on the table, speaking with food in your mouth, tapping your spoon on the cup, blowing on your food...dancing in your seat after a bite, eating fries with your fingers, eating with both hands at the same time...making yummy noises!!! Mon Dieu!
