I know this is an old comment but I think I have an answer. Prospit, Derse, Skaia, all that stuff, existed way before they technically started playing the game. The entire game, all the constructs and rules, already existed for a very long time before any of them installed the game. So I imagine that loading screen which is supposedly "Installing the game" is actually just them installing the interface, which wouldn't actually take too long. That is further supported by the fact that there is a Server Version and a Client Version. The actual game is reality, Sburb is just a way to interact with it within a set of rules.

This video is gonna be safe, but it means I'm gonna be kind of stuck if it comes to updating it for the epilogue (and the credits). Nothing I can put out is going to be properly "interactive", so I'll have to rethink my approach until then.
We're all still waiting on the new update from Kazerad! We know it's going to be a walkaround flash, and that it's taken him a very long time for various reasons. It's almost done, though! It's being debugged now, and should be arriving in the next few weeks.

I think the reason why homestuck is so confusing is that it keeps switching between certain characters in certain times, so you really hafta pay attention to everything going on

I think part of what makes homestuck so awesome is, despite how much effort things like flashes and walk-arounds took, the comic sticks to each character's motifs EVERY SINGLE TIME they're even slightly relevant, without fail. Silhouettes in Cascade, the biggest moment yet? Make em the text color of EVERY character, not just black. You KNOW who you're looking at and at what point in the timeline just by one image.
Absolutely the best ms paint comic ever made. These movies are a testament to that, so many good ones. Cascade is the classic great video we got early on to get us hyped, an to this day it does just that. But Collide is by far my favourite, the emotions, callbacks, epic music and animation mixed with the extremely complexity of the story makes it a masterpiece.

Seriously though, thank you for doing this. It has been about half a year since I binge-read Homestuck over the course of about 5 months, and I was really beginning to miss it. Watching through all of the flash animations brought a nostalgic tear to my eye, not to mention the several others from all of the amazing things this showcased. The guitar riff at 3:36:21 remains the single saddest, most fitting guitar riff I have ever heard.

I’m surprised of how good this flashes look, they could easily pass as perfectly aged gifs. In fact, I dare say some look like gifs.
