Happy to finally see a breakdown video of the sample :) I find "Ventura" to be very intriguing, and the short sample I found seems to compliment it well
In the last 20 years I used to told my friend that if once I'd have a chance to meet Daft Punk my only question to Thomas would be that how did he make this track. So now I have to find out another question... Thank U!
@@TheSampleEdition Oui c'est carrément ça ! Je l'avais entendu sur un documentaire il y a quelque semaines en plus ! (Dommage, c'était une autre version de la chanson :^0)
@retrovgm I messed around with Nature Boy on virtualDJ and I strongly agree with your comments. They were super helpful! . I made a video where I attempted to remake the beat. I made sure to give you credit in the description. I couldn't get it to sound exactly the same but I'm positive this is the sample. ua-cam.com/video/KitzUi4oBCI/v-deo.html
Je me rappelle que j'avais eu une période ou j'essayais de retrouver ce fameux sample xD ! J'aurais jamais cru qu'il venait de Claude Dubois ! En tout cas ce remake est parfait ; )
Today, my headphones messed up, and all I could really hear was the sample. I can say with 100% certainty that the sample doesn't go in and out. I know it's very minor, but I still thought it was interesting. The kick just makes everything sound weird
@@joukuu200921 That's what I meant, I didn't know that much about music production and such, and I didn't want to call it what it might not have been. Thank you for clearing that up for me!

Bloody hell. Amazing sampling technique. I played this back when it was new and never ever found out what the sample was from. There was a house track in '96 that sneakily sampled the bassline bit that I've never been able to find. Any ideas? Bonjour mon ami, I'm looking to do a live recreation of this on stage for an upcoming show. Would you please explain the effect played at 1:35 ? I have tried a few different methods but can't seem to crack this particular cut effect and rhythm.
On 3 November 2018, just past midnight, I was experimenting on my computer. To pass the time, I attempted to filter out the sample from this Bangalter song that was almost stuck in my head, "Ventura", despite initially believing I would once again not succeed after attempting it two or so times already. I took to Audacity, blocked out the percussion, slowed the track down a few times, and Shazamed it. After slowing it down by 4 semitones, Shazam returned a result, much to my astonishment. I went ahead and shared the discovery to r/DaftPunk on Reddit. So that's what happened. :)
Roland TR-909, kick on every beat, clap on 2 and 4, closed hi-hat on every half beat, or maybe 16th beat, open hi-hat on every half beat that the kick isn't on. There's a slight shuffle of 5 or 6.
Happy to finally see a breakdown video of the sample :) I find "Ventura" to be very intriguing, and the short sample I found seems to compliment it well
Finally they discovered this sample after 23 years
Thomas has a knack for finding short samples of vocals or instruments played after it. That's why his stuff is so unique.
In the last 20 years I used to told my friend that if once I'd have a chance to meet Daft Punk my only question to Thomas would be that how did he make this track. So now I have to find out another question... Thank U!
Was skeptical when you first highlighted the sample but my jaw dropped each time you pitched it up lmao
I can't believe this sample is actually from one of my favorite songs of all time...
This makes me love the original song even more.
Hearing it slowly be assembled was a cool experience
I cannot tell you how long I've been waiting to know this sample
It might be on whosampled.c o m since they always have samples for songs like this
Content que tu l'ais fait ! :^D
Je pense ne pas être le seul à avoir été étonné du sample. 20 ans quoi ! Alors que c'est un classique français ! :^0

Ventura has the most profound use of a sample that I couldn't have imagined. Amazing what Thomas Bangalter did with it. Thanks so much for this video!
That was incredible. I thought you were playing the actual song but you blew my mind.
Finally! I've always been dumbfounded as to what the sample could be!

Shuffle's Sample was a (Kinda) Direct Sample from Nature Boy by George Benson..

It’s probably side chained to the kick. As in, every time the kick hits the sample gets quieter which is what causes the in and out sound.

It’s called a sidechain, it kinda cuts out on the kicks
In some programs like flstudio or audacity (I think), it's called "autoduck" which is basically what the guy above said, a sidechain :]

please post the full recreation
