After watching Irreversible, I really started getting into Bangalter's stuff from the 90's, great stuff! And of course I listened to the Daft Punk stuff.
Thoma's work for Irreversible was spectacular. The music and sounds played a big part of the movie, and makes you feel almost what the characters are going through. 10/10 would watch again.
@@pepetru Oh hell yes! Roule is pulling one arm in one direction, and Le Knight Club is pulling the other arm in the other direction! Daft Punk and Buffalo Bunch are like: "Can't we all just get along?!" ;D
I'm french, love that movie, love Daftpunk since the roule period but i had no idea Thomas Bangalter was behind the music in that movie. Thank you for your comment sir.
I'm shifting through everything I can find with his name on it, and I was just thinking the same thing. How one guy can be so consistently amazing is beyond me.
He was so ahead of his time it's absurd. The french touch is just so apparent here. I'm from the city of Chicago and I truly do think Europe does not get enough credit for how far they elevated House Music. Chicago has a scene but it's always been fairly underground -- albeit some pretty good house festivals. Long tangent short, God bless Daft Punk.
He wasn't ahead of his time. This is just how house music sounded in the mid 90s to early 2000s before electronic music changed and most of it got worse. It wasn't commercialized back then like it is now.
Oh man you have no idea🤯 been searching for this track for years all I knew was the Roulette wheel on the cover of the album!😉 Brings back sweet memories 💕
@@88LaurenJade Wow like you never heard this song before is what you mean? Well if that's the case never too late to the party!!😏 This track brings me back to my youth..my man would make the baddest mixed tapes you ever heard hahahaha 😂
sample from claude dubois, blues du businessman, altough very modifying so hardly recognizable... Being french canadian myself and a big daft punk fan, this kinda buckles the loop of me listening to daft punk all these years and finally end up on one of his first songs being a sample from a well known quebec artist... mindblowing
I remember Cesar de Melero playing that track when the dancefloor was on fire. So it was like spreading more gas on it, jajaja.. Best from Palma de Mallorca.
I love you Stevie💜 miss you much, your the only one that would know what this means LoL and the fact I actually found it!! Ahhmazing 🙌 🎉🍻 keep watching over me and I will keep turning it up🔊🔊🔊
@@lydhavet-music I agree with you, it would be odd, if I could compare to photography, this is like a high contrast grainy image, and Homework has a much more fine grain and low contrast feel. They are both bold, powerful and aggressive, this is more minimalist still.
Only bangalter, I mean... Pure french (Experimental) Touch. I say that because all geniuses come up with there own shit. Bangalter was the few and the last to bring it to the forefront and saying "Fuck you man, I'm Bangalter..Who are you?".
Honestly, apart from Guy Man, Bangalter made Roulé underrated as heck, and before you said something, yes, they were other people who made the project good, but Bangalter made Roulé so good.
2024 and I’m still listening to this masterpiece
me too lol
Unbelieveable track!
Insane!
Love this!
1995 - 2002 Best French House years
for sure...but the wave will never stop
Best year is 1999
I am not French, but I confirm this!
True
frenchy for ever
he makes house music so much better than any other artist
Disco dad
Dimitri from Paris does it well to. But Thomas Bangalter is the Dad
@@ozmon2118 does it well too* ;)
And Le Knight Club
That's because he's Daft Punk, but I'm sure you know that
this is in my opinion one of the tracks to have as a reference in the house/techno scene.

I heard he also added a very low frequency to up the unease factor in some parts, probably 10Hz or something.
Don't forget Guy-man's stuff too, Crydamoure also has some of the greatest house tracks. :)

For Christ sake his solo stuff is all amazing

all that in his little bedroom
Fun fact: the sampled vocals are singing "piste" which in english mean "track" or "runway" and are enunciated with an "uh" sound, at the end

Long tangent short, God bless Daft Punk.
Without Chicago there wouldn’t be any French Touch, filter house was invented there and not in France

it's not modified that much. The sample is just very short.
Too catchy, this keeps playing in my head haha
