  • The four young girls who were killed when their church was bombed by a white supremacist 50 years ago were remembered. The bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama changed the course of the nation's civil rights debate, reports Natalie Tejada of CBS affiliate WIAT.

    I wish the people that preach ‘all lives matter’ would educate themselves by watching things like this and understand that until black lives matter we can’t move forward.. I’m white and I am disgusted by the level of ignorance even in this day and age... things need to change! Racism is ridiculous and has no place in society anymore!

    • @tonemerc2
      @tonemerc2 4 роки тому +17

      Yes you are right. If saying Black lives matter is offensive to some, they should examine in their hearts why the statement generates so much discomfort. Its a true statement, its the interpretation of it as something sinister that should lead one to examine his own heart.

    • @zeew28
      @zeew28 3 роки тому +5

      I agree with everything you said and I’m sure it wasn’t meant with any harm but you put “anymore” at the end of the sentence. Racism never belonged in society.

    I remember this day.I was 21 years old,a waitress in an Alabama cafe when I heard the awful news.I had a 12 year old daughter at home myself so I ran out the cafe home to her and hugged her.I was borrowing my grandson's cellphone when this notification video popped up and my curiosity got the best of me.

      I, myself, am a white girl, yet I still wouldn't be able to tell you why they hated your type so much. I mean, you're really sweet people (depending on the person/personality), so why would they want to harm you, or put you to suffering?
      Everybody is an Innocent bystander(most of the time), along with having your own thoughts, feelings, likes, dislikes, and actions.
      You all deserve to have the same rights and everything as us.
      If our skin color is different, personality, looks are all different; IT DOESN'T MATTER.
      We need equality, along with peace on earth. Not this hate and war.
      I may have not been around at that time, yet I am so very sorry your type had to go through that. Growing up, and still thinking this now, I really do wish I could possibly somehow travel back in time to prevent all of this. Then these poor girls would've lived their full life, growing up to be absolutely beautiful, just like their mothers.

      FlyOverZone No! Southern congressmen and politicians did! Both Southern Republicans and Democrats fought the bill! Go back and check the official count! Democrats enjoyed a comfortable SUPER MAJORITY in both the House and Senate and controlled the White House back in those days. Even if every Republican voted against the bill as well as a handful of Dixiecrats the bill would have still passed!

      @@luvitluvitbaby Barry Goldwater, a Republican, voted against the Civil Rights Bill of 1964 and he was the GOP candidate for president that year. President Johnson, a Democrat, signed it into law.
      I love how they just lie and lie and lie about "Democrats were the slavery party." That was once true, but somewhere along the way there was a complete role reversal with regard to civil rights.
