What about the geothermal vents in the earth's crust. The planet has been in a warming trend since the last ice age. This planet has been frozen and heated multiple times before we humans had the notion that we are the superior species.

Who's to say the earth is not simply trying to return its climate to normal? The Antarctic continent, at one time, was a green, thriving rainforest would explain a lot. I hope all the ice melts and we can inhabit this continent one day as it had been thousands of millennia ago.

What makes you think that it has always been frozen? Many indigenous peoples have stories about how the world moved and there were 3 days of darkness and the stars moved. So why are people so surprised that there is evidence of land rivers and animals present?
