- we stayed in the west rail pond and it was an ambush paradise. we had 11 attempts, 8 successes and many other nice encounters. right now it's probably the best place to ambush :)

Yes! They finally gave the adult deinosuchus the slow swim animation it gets as a juvenile. Looks so much better then the stiff board tail
Props for not killing the small ones. When I'm on Ptera or Beipi I get insta attacked by Deinos if I go near them.
Except yesterday. Was ducking around the river in southplains on Beipi. Then after about an hour a Deino showed up. This is the first smart Deino I've encountered. Instead of eating me, he used me as bait, since everyone was drinking and swimming without fear as long as I was In the river.
to me it doesn't make sense to eat a herra or beipi as adult deino. as babu yes, the organs still give a fair amount of nutrients. but, as sub or adult deino they are worthless for your diet and also hunger. every fish gives more food even more, as you said, it's much more fun to watch them around and they might even attract others, like in the herra/dilo scene in this video

hey ♥ first of all, it was the bigger prey but, in general I don't see much sense in killing herras. they barely give food to an adult deino, no nutrients and they are gone. this way I could enjoy watching you while I was waiting for better prey anyway, was nice to meet you
@@da.mombie Not to mention that is a good strategy as well, because other people would see the Herras swimming around and assume there are no Deinos in the lake... so win win... perfect symbiosis lol

I've always thought west rail pond would be a great ambush spot, seeing how much traffic it gets due to it being both close to the hotspot and the only freshwater source in one of the most common mzs. I've never seen a gator in there before, nor gone to it myself, so thank you for proving my theory!
your theory was right! it's an actual paradise right now. I am afraid it won't be long and the news will spread across the players, that this pond isn't safe anymore
@@da.mombie Even if they know it isn't safe, they don't have many other options unless they want to go far from the zone to get water. So it'll still be decently populated, hopefully!

Also a good you spared few creatures here and there. That being said Deino is such a big dude and needs a lot of foods to stay afloat.
yeah, I liked that hypsi too. first I though it will spit on me for sure, but, it 2called and was a nice one
that's why you have to get the bigger ones and can ignore the tiny ones. they aren't even worth the energy of hunting

It doesnt mean youre mixpacking. It means youre co surviving in a similar environment made for both of you.
I have my very own view on mixpacking anyway. to tolerate each other doesn't mean mixpacking to me. I just don't like to fight together or interact unfair in any other way, like being a spy ptera and so on. but, as long as it doesn't harm others, I am relaxed and don't care if there is another species around. the opposite, I enjoy watching them
@@da.mombie I’d rather people tolerate each other rather than just murder each other, especially with herbis. That said I do think there should be nerfs for spending too much time around species you’re species doesn’t like and buffs for staying around species that you do like (e.g stego and dryo both getting individual buffs if they stick around each other)
@@theotheseaeagle yeah, I always thought a kind of "well-being" factor would be nice. which goes down when you are nearby a corpse as herb (to prevent bodycamping) and which goes up by certain actions (like rubbing at a tree). your ideas could be easily adapted to this.
but, on the other hand, we are asking for quite much, if we keep their small team in mind
I was a herra in those waters yesterday. I hung out with a croc similar looking to you for a couple hours, but I didn't realize another croc logged in and he killed me :( it was fun while it lasted. I love cohabitating with the crocs who see the benefit of it.
I played wednesday, thursday and friday. but, it's always nice to hear stories of two carnis who tolerate each other instead of killing for no reason even if it ended badly
Mombie + my favorite "dino" = Win. You were killing it in this pond. Hard to believe such a small body of water would attract so many species. Glad you let the Herreras live, they're probably my second favorite dino. Did that little Cera that you missed at 14:00 have a broken leg? If it did, what a lucky bugger. Glad you lived through another video. Can't wait for Part 3.

It looks dumb that a full grown deino get stunned by ambushing a smaller stego from the water while it is drinking. It should not be a thing. Deino comes off as too weak for their size, weight and the time you put into it.

yeah, I really dislike that. a deino should be able to stun a stego and don't get stunned in return. so, you can get a second bite in. it isn't like you would easily kill them then anyway. yet, stegos would have to be a little more careful at least. you can also do a stun timer (like pachy) to avoid it being abused by two deinos. I never understood that. 8 tons vs 6 tons and yet you get stunned even slightly longer than the stego ^^

@@Bleghspread I don't need another attack. give deino 1000 biteforce or don't let it be stunned by ridiculous 6 tons. one of those and I would already be happy
@@da.mombie You literally need another attacks, lol. Instead of being stunned by anything bigger than 4000 kg, your lunge could result into different type of lets say thrash attack that is dealing more dmg + maybe even more bleed than usual. Literally like omni´s pounce from front which is kind of a dropkick, not latch, not deflect - custom attack with strong dmg output and higher bleed. Deino needs something similar instead of whatever joke is happening in the code rn. I´d love to have similar treatment like dibble has too - camera angle dependant or tap/hold mouse buttons dependant. Deino has almost nothing. I hope they will be creative with this one. Deino can potentially even flesh graze on bigger enemies just like giga will in the future. Just imagine those opportunities. You do not need to kill a stego, just ambush from water, rip a chunk and be chilling with it right after. xD

let the deino stun a stego without being stunned yourself and we would have very interesting battles between stego and deino. or just raise it's biteforce to 1000 and most stegos would be afraid. 1000 biteforce means two head and a body hit. no stego would mess around waters anymore.
to me deino is an ambush predator. it's grab is great and so I don't get your deino has nothing argument. carno can ram, cera can charge bite, deino can grab. all good to me.
yes, there are many nice ideas for certain dinos. but I don't care. I don't want them to waste time by messing around with each dino. they shall rather develop the game and bring new dinos in. they can give the actual dinos some love later on. much later from my point of view.
but, you are lucky that the devs actually constantly upgrade "older" dinos. as you could see with dryo, stego and so on. so, there is hope for your deino.
but personally, I don't need another attack for deino. not at all and also not literally
I feel like getting the saltwater mutation so u can drink seawater is the only safe place from crocs nowadays
I don't know, there are still plenty of rather safe drink spots. the swamp has so many shallow places to drink which aren't even reachable as deino. the northeast river has many pretty safe places, too. so does the river delta. beside that are also many little unknown/unpopular ponds. like between the river delta and the highlands. or between northeast and the north .
River below WA is unironically the safest spot rn :D But ofc only few playables have occasional route through those parts since MZs are kinda lazy in current builds.

truly wonderful. you have truly found an excellent hunting area and above all it seems that it is quite popular as an area as I believe that the majority of players think that no one lives there but you have made the exception and above all I like how you seize every opportunity and evaluate If it's worth spending energy on a hunt that will give you little sustenance, you're truly amazing I love your adventures they're so natural and relaxing❤️

@@da.mombieI would like to give you some advice as now that is your deity's territory and the pond is not that big if another deity comes I advise you not to let him stay as there wouldn't be enough food because they are both in such a small pond and you could kill him ( I know you don't like it) but if you have difficulty with hunger I advise you to opt for that choice as there could be the risk of you being killed

lost connection to the host? I guess you already tried a clean reinstallation. did you check your firewall? maybe it blocks the isle somehow I would also recommend to look for trouble shooting tutorials on youtube. I often got help this way myself

I don't play deino much but I like to keep some semi aquatics around so people feel comfortable seeing fish or other dinos in the water.
Plus some will repay you by luring some victims near the water. I try to do that when a croc lets me live near the water.
yeah, beipi and herra don't give much food or nutrients anyway. on the other hand you get something to watch and like you said, it makes others more comfortable nearby the water. if they see herras swimming around. personally I don't like if others want to lure prey to me tho. I like to tolerate them, but don't want to collaborate
@@da.mombie I understand the position but it happens in nature, symbiotic relationships, so it's fun to replicate in The Isle, to me sometimes.

thx ♥ I like it. it gives you a reason to fear waters. I love the threat and intensity while I drink with my dinos. it also doesn't happen very often. it isn't like every time you drink you get grabbed. just a few times, but, often enough to keep that intense feeling while drinking up

honestly, I was hoping for bigger deinos to come by. getting killed is a better ending than just logging out and I need server space anyway. even more, this deino had such a good run and ended so many life, so, it would be just fair to die soon too

Love a good dieno, how the heck you get to that pond tho
I showed different parts of it in different videos before. most easy is tho, get salt water mutation and a full belly at the dam between the river delta and the ocean. from there you swim south. so, if you swim, the coastline should be to your right. if you follow that coast line, then you will arrive at the beach sanctuary after about 20-30 minutes.

Play the horde test mate.
you have to change to the horde test branch. right click on the isle in steam. go to properties, then betas and on the top right you can choose between horde test, legacy (none), evrima and so on

nah its cringe how you killed the adult dibble when you were almost full on hunger i lost my respect for you
well, I very often struggled later on because I didn't take a chance, so, sry, but I don't feel bad about keeping me hunger up as a deino. especially when this dibble just filled my stomach. there was no waste at all, so, the only kill I felt bad about was the little galli. it didn't help me at all and even a fish would have given me more lipids. the dibble tho? nope, I am fine with that kill
@@da.mombie the galli is sad also but he prob just spawned, the dibble was growing for hours..
@@DirkLaxman I think very differently. I don't care about hours and dislike the way of thinking of having lost hours in this game. it has permadeath and you always lose everything anyway. the fun comes by your gameplay between every death. I had moments as babu which were as fun as moments I had as adult and I was as bored as adult as I was as juvie at times . anyway tho, I enjoy each stage of growing best possible and so I never feel like I have lost something.
therefore I care about sense and not hours. to kill a herb as other herb? no sense at all. to kill a babu or a herra as adult deino? little to no sense. to kill another deino for food? much sense (even if I wouldn't do so myself). to kill other deinos without eating them? no sense. to kill a dibble which won't be wasted? much sense
You have to be opportunistic as the croc, if they let the dibble escape they could go another hour or two without seeing anything else substantial enough to feed them. Better to stockpile food while things are actually around, so that you can preserve your hunger for long enough to see the next prey item come along.
