- we went to the water source we discovered as pachy and had a good start after two "failed" attempts. later on we visited the east beach, the swamp, the beach sanctuary and the west rail pond. we had less encounters at the start, but quite some in the end XD

which one have you been? I saw about 3-5 herras there. well, that day only two. a grey and a yellow one or so. how can you starve to death when there is fish all over? didn't you trust me?
@@da.mombie I don't remember what color but I was the second biggest was not full grown. Maybe I was a grayish or green cause I don't remember lol I used a random skin

you just swimming at the 10:14 mark is one of the most soothing moments ive seen in a game. so damn graceful.

I really hope they make frogs more common in the swamp and rivers. Right now starting so small, you're almost forced to go 50% growth or hold out and keep searching while at 30% growth. It's almost worth starting out with 1 Deino, getting hm killed, restarting in the same zone and then eating your previous corpse. Can't believe that Cerato actually thought he could face tank you. Lucky he escaped only scarred up. Happy you let that Carno live, it really did look like the one from the beach. Herreras and Deinos should be best friends forever, attack from above and from below, like a match made in heaven.
nah, you just have to get a frog right at the start. which is easy, as there are plenty of them. specially at the northeast lake. so many yeah, I met some herras later on, as you will see on sunday. I also don't go for herras. they are nice to have around. nice to watch and they give barely food anyway

thx ♥ I say dry, but for real you have to let them rot. as soon as they are rotten, they give carbs (three dots). but, be aware. they are shown rotten at the scent horizon right from the start, even if they aren't. so, you really have to wait a little

I'm surprised you haven't run into another Deino. There were also very few herbivores. They must have loosened up in other areas of the map.
oh, there were herbs as well, as you will see in the next video. I have more footage from this pond but yeah, I was also surprised that I didn't met any other deino at south

yeah, to be honest. I was pretty mad when I read the update news. NOTHING really interesting, BUT a new deino skin. exactly the day after I raised that one to about 30 or so ^^ but, I had to show it, so, here we go again
I always liked that spot at the beginning whenever I passed it, I'm glad they made it drinkable. We need more spots to visit! Hopefully that becomes a new migration. I wonder if they made that spot with bary in mind for the future? I love how much the salt water mutation has opened up travel for deinos. Combining it with the decreased nutrient decay was smart, perfect travel deino package! The little west rail pond was so fun as a safe spot ... but I'm happy its not safe anymore we had our fun pool parties, now we should be afraid! Hard to say with that final carno, but I do think it was the same just based on color and behavior. Wonder if they recognized you too afterwards!
yeah, I also loved that place since I was there for the first time. it's a kind of peninsula and very beautiful
the west rail pond is a paradise for deinos RIGHT NOW. but, this will change pretty soon. I was there at wednessday, thursday and yesterday. the first two days many came by. yesterday way less tho, still enough, but much less already
it's really hard to say if it was the same mate, but, would be nice if so

Mombie has a video of how to get to SP from swamp. have a look for it

but, be aware, they changed the size of deino babus since and so you can't go this way as babu anymore without dying of thirst. so, I recommend to get the salt water mutation first. then you will easily arrive with this way
Why didn't you show us how to pull stego full adult to water

maybe because a stego didnt show up... also you can only grab full stegos if you Full grown and if the stego is swimming

if you let school (little) fish rot, then they give carbs (dots). you have to let them on land for about 5 minutes. just lay 5 of them on the shore and they will fill more than 50% of your dots as soon as they are rotten. be aware tho, the scent radar shows them rotten right after you drop them. but, they aren't, you have to wait 5 minutes

honestly, personally I don't use a map. I very much navigate by landmarks. but, if you are a new player, then you can try the vulnona map. just google "gateway map vulnona". this map is interactive and pretty helpful for new players. you can even enter the coordinates which you see in my vids (when I open the menu) and it will show you exactly where it was and if you enter your own coordinates, then it shows how far you are away and so on
How does drying schooling fish work? They just become carbs after a certain point?

Only knew that they give more stomach fill if you leave them for a while! Had a growing session as Deino today on the current branch in the NE Lake and can confirm that they taste better if dried in the sun. ;)

Mombie you inspired me into creating an UA-cam chanel cab you give me some tips
well, first of all I can recommend it. it's such a joy to see people having a good time watching me vids. the best feeling I could ever imagine and probably only topped by being a music artist who plays in front of 30k people who all sing your songs
but, it is also a lot of work. I spend about 20 hours for each video. about 5 hours playing, 12 hours editing and 2-3 hours for thumbnails and answering comments.
so, before you start you should ask yourself a question. do you want to do videos or stream?
do you have a passion for editing? because if not, then I would recommend to stream. it's way less time intense. just play, stream and stop. that's it. not that much after work (like editing).
personally I am an awful multitasker and would die every time I try to read the chat while streaming
but even more, I love to edit, so, that's why I chose to do videos. I love to create certain moods with music and cutting. to try to amuse and entertain my community.
but that's me. if you also love to be creative with music, footage and so on, then I can highly recommend youtube videos. because again, nothing better than putting all the love in editing and seeing people actually enjoying it. it's such an amazing feelings which humbles me over and over.
so, let me know if you want to do vids and if you want to know something in special

let me say it like this, if I would have spent the amount of hours in a normal low skill job, then I would probably have earned 20 times more money. maybe even 30 times.
so, unless you don't get popular like crazy over night (we are speaking of at least 100k followers), you won't get enough money compared to the amount of time you put in.
that said, I can only speak for youtube.I never streamed and have no idea how much money these mates get. I mean, I saw videos where a streamer got 1000 bucks from one person only. but I guess that is rather the exception

How do you know where you are?
Hello, i'm guessing Mombie is using a map just like the Vulvona Map, it's free of use and you can set it up the way you want, you can also click on your coords ingame and then paste them in the site for easy use and you instantly know where you are! :)
I know the map pretty well meanwhile. there are some areas like the far west and far north where I still struggle, but at about 80% of the map I know where I am and where the areas are where I want to go to. I have many many hours in this game
@@drewsfrog I know Vulvona and had a look at it at the start of gateway. just to get a general picture of the map in my head. but, since then I learned the map out of my head and found my own ways from A to B. which works pretty well meanwhile. that said, there are still a few areas where wasn't that often and still struggle

@@drewsfrog honestly, I always loved that in such game. day-z didn't have a map, too. well, you could find map pieces in the game and after a while you had one, but, most of the time you had no map. the world was huge and yet I knew almost every inch of Chernarus in the end.
I always had a good sense for north, south and so on and even in my military time I was one of the better ones at the parts where you had to read maps or using landmarks. also in games with caves and such stuff, I mostly do pretty well to find my way back out again I am not the most skilled around in many regards, but, in that regard I am fine with myself
