Im 40 and i had one when i was a teen. i have an 80s kids room in my man cave.. "Dont judge me" lol... I would really like to have a shot at purchasing it or one like it when your finish or having a chance at winning it in a contest.... you do fantastic work and your channel is awesome .. keep up the great work🚙🚓🚑🚕🚗🚚🚛
Great video ! I have been following this project since you first started, and am looking forward to seeing it all together. I'm inspired to start back up my extended cab Blackfoot body that got shelved last winter 👍
What I do instead of using a flat edge is a basin of olive oil that I keep in a drawer it works amazing gets a lot of residue off. Get 1000 g sand paper for just a quick minute. Wash soapy water. Dry apply-in-weld putty in divots- two part pudd/hardner the super glue gets expensive and harder to manipulate even gel. That's why I don't use often you do great work with it. I then apply soap and luke water let dry, apply generic primer. Give it a couple days days. Sand 320 fine and use a heavy gauge thread needle for any door/hood lines back 1000 g paper wash take outside when wet. Dry and paint under and top primer let dry 1day then paint your favorite color. I've done a ton ABS bodied models. I do my favorite models-Marui Big Bears. Old paper bags work great for ultra fine sand and get it free. Check out my videos. Can't wait for more awesome videos from you.
Thank you for your information. I too have been restoring ABS bodies for decades. My first one was done in 1995 when I was 15. It still looks stunning to this day and I love to keep doing it. I will look at your channel.
Nice! lots of work should look like a beauty once painted! Hey I was trying to contact you about midnight pumpkin body posts if you have any that are stronger than stock...I cracked mine both off last outing! Let me know, Thanks
Great video VERY helpful, and the body looks great i can't wait to see the next step in the restoration i have 2 Tyco eliminators (bandits younger cousin) that am trying to turn into 1 working car and this has inspired me, and seeing how you handle the suspension repairs you are working on will help too. In my case the eliminator i had when i was young runs but was VERY abused by it's previous owner and i use erector set pieces and twist ties to hold some of it together and the transmission switch between high and low is in an bad way, then i bought one on ebay to have one in better shape to run only to find that the guy who sold it to me broke the front suspension and glued it and said nothing about this truck needing to be display only so on my first drive the front strut pillar snapped and the steering knuckle split where they had been glued, so i am either going to try and put the trans from the ebay shelf queen on my old faithful or try to put the suspension pieces from old faithful onto the shelf queen
Thank you for that. I am concerned about the chassis. Everything on it is cracked and I have a couple paths I can go. I just bought a rare 4wd turbo hopper and want to see how that can be used in this build.
+AMPRO Engineering yeah it might just work I noticed turbo hoppers(9.6v battery pack variants), bandits, and Eliminators share many components the tough part will probably be removing the pins the hold the suspension and steering components on as well any of the nuts that are pressed on I an still trying to find a way to safely remove those
Great question. It is actually flat white Testors since they seem to not make a primer any more. I used that as the paints were all enamel also testors.

Haha! Nothing wrong with that! Sadly, this little guy was mine when I was a kid so it isnt going anywhere.
It's funny that while you were working on it, it went from bad, to worse, to gorgeous. :)
That is the truth! That tends to happen in a restoration.
Man, i can’t wait to see The next episode!! 🤤
It will be out tonight!

Glad to hear it!
Do you have a second channel for your real cars?
No but I will soon.

I heard easy off oven cleaner works.
That was what I used in part 2. I have been using that for a couple decades, lol. Lemon scent.

Ill check my email. You cracked the stock ones or mine?
Hi i cracked my stock one and was wondering if you had anything stronger. =)
The ones I have in SLS are stronger than stock. I think I have an installation video of them on my channel.
Cool let me know when you get the other project we worked on and then when you ship the stuff to me I can get the posts from you ok. =)
Will do. I think I need to order more of them from shapeways.
Awesome! Thank you so much for doing this episode I have 1 Bandit body alone and one Bandit fast traxx that both need some repairs.
Oh nice!

Same here. I am not looking forward to that part .
Been waiting for more of this one!
A lot of people have been! I guess there is a lot of love for the Bandit.
Is there a part 4 yet
As soon as I finish a horrible project in front of it.
AMPRO Engineering Which one is that
What white primer did you use here? Looks like maybe Tamiya Primer(L) white?
Great question. It is actually flat white Testors since they seem to not make a primer any more. I used that as the paints were all enamel also testors.
Where is part 4?
Working on it! I have a couple other projects i'm finishing up but I'll be back on the bandit soon!
Ok thanks for responding keep up the great videos I love what you make :)
Not a problem! Thank you so much.
No problem :)
I wish i'd known about the superglue method before i did my clod buster body, i used milliput which has shrunk and cracked unfortunately.
Yeah it is not wheel known.
Instead of Tamiya filler use automotive spot putty. It's basically solidified primer. Comes in a tube and it won't crack.
I have used that too, really good product. This stuff when used thin is like steel. It is when people go crazy with the putty that it splits.
You gotta ditch the tyco bandit look and go for the red white and blue taiyo turbo pick up colour scheme that mimicked its tamiya big brother
Well it won't look like a Bandit...but I have a very Mini-Truck look planned for this.
Very very nice job. I loved this episode.. lots of great information. What grit paper did you use on Tamiya filler?
Oh good question. It was 400 grit.
