Bro, me and my brother had a Tyco bandit when we wer kids, love your channel, brings back childhood.
Me too! I will review that one soon!
I love the 80's Nikko Turbo Aero. Was my first decent toy grade.
Worked great till the winter. Didn't like the snow & burnt it out
Oh I know that well. It is the same chassis as the Turbo panther (I have done two reviews on those here) and they are awesome. No...snow and water were no good.
Cool little car!!! One of my favorites was the Sears Thunder Van would have been early 80's I had some cool RC's back then miss them now :(
James Clark one of my favourites was the kyosho tracker, i still have and love it!
Those are so cool!
James Clark I see the Sears van on eBay from time to time.
My favorite tyco car growing up was the 9.6v twin turbo Lamborghini Countach. I had the 49mhz black version. It was fast and badass with those twin motors.
I know those things awe awesome!
9.6 VOLT TURBO POWER
Same here!
I love Tyco stuff I have a number of their vehicles. I've got a Fast Trax with the Bandit body, 2 turbo hoppers, a mini Hopper, a micro Bandit, a normal Bandit body, a Tyco typhoon, and a few more I believe I'm forgetting about
Nice collection!
Just bought a nikko ferrari testarossa 1/18 scale from 1986. Its fun! Exactly the same one I had as a kid complete with the box and everything :)
That is awesome! Its the best to find those old cars we had as kids.
That twin engine Tyco Lambo was a pure beast back in the day, A buddy of mine had a twin engine Miller Beer Porsche that is next to impossible to find now
Yeah they were really quick. People forget how good these entry level cars were.

My father bought me as a present in 1990 a Taiyo Ferrari 348 which eventually had a similar story as your F40.. I found it recently in Italy and bought it just for $100! I saw it was sold from $200 to $500 in previous cases. If I lived close I'd give it to you for a review, I'd love to see it included in this spectacular channel!
Wow that is awesome. I do like that one also. I love this car and since I located this one, I have yet to see another. Odd that the are so rare. You are too kind!
A Classic ..Omg I had this same vehicle.Back in the day I had the fastest car when my mom bought me this exact car from Toys R Us
See! It is a bullet isnt it! My mom got me mine from Toys R Us also. Man i loved that thing.
@@AMPROEngineering I think the old "toy grades" are way better then th new ones...
And the old are also way faster then the New's.
Very Cool. I still have my first cars. Firefox and a Cookin Blazer.
I had to look those up! Very nice!
Pretty cool little toy grade
Sure it.
My all-time favorite is that Tyco 9.6 volt yellow Ferrari which I still have once in a while I cruise it up and down the street I baby it LOL
These are amazing. I looked for years for this one and I just love it.
Such a beauty! What I am most astonished about is the shine and color of that red plastic. And wow, it runs really fast still! Most of mine run very slow now, especially my Nikkos. Don't know why, maybe the motor. Every time you speak of fond memories with this one I come to think of my Countach 5000QV I have from the late/mid 1980s.. Also a beautiful one. Still runs pretty good though it's got to be +30 years since I bought it. It has working headlights and taillights - and turbo function. It uses 6 x C 1.5 v (=9v!) + a 9v battery (for the receiver?) and one more 9V (for the transmitter). Though the color of the red plastic is far from the shine of yours. Still contemplating if I should paint it, since stickers are already (sadly) removed, but then, I wanna leave it original too. Might have to source one more out and paint that one :-) But I can't seem to find it. The only clue I have is "Suncon" and "Countach 5000 QV" (my original 1980s box is missing) and a sheet of paper where it states "model no. 7309, 7319, 7329" (probably different colors). Everytime a Lamborghini from Suncon shows up for sale it's just not the right one. Ohhh, sorry for my babling but you knwo how it is, when one starts to talk about the cars from one's childhood it is hard to keep it short :-)
Just added a picture of it on instagram. Love looking at it :-) If we lived close we should race ours ... or not :-) "Scratching this car is simply not acceptable"
Thank you! I know, I haven't even polished it. this is how it came. The speed too is disturbing. I think it will blow the doors off a 'Hopper. I just saw the Lambo, I want one now! Have you tried to polish it? I use a great chemical polish for my RC's and Real cars. PM me on FB if you want some. I think it is USA only. I know the guy that makes it.
They also produced a Porsche 962 on that platform.
Cool thanks! I am looking for pix now!
That car looks so good
It really does
I think this has been a good series with the Tyco RC cars. I run my bandit with my traxxas slash for fun. Great times!
I agree! I have some more planned.
Sweet! I have one of these, but the 27MHz version, which is a dark metallic grey
That was the one I had! I would love to see yours!
I also have the metallic grey and love it
I got a laugh out of the "silky smooth ribbon of asphalt to play with". It brought back memories of my first high end RC. It was a Kyosho Javelin, and I put a hopped up motor in it. I was a junior in high school and took the car to school one day to make some stuff for it in metal shop. Well all my friends dared me to drive it down the steps to the gymnasium floor and see how fast it was. The gym floor by the way, had a BRAND NEW finish on it. Like 2 weeks old. It looked like an NBA floor! Anyway, I was never one to back down from a dare, so off I went. 500 donuts later we went to class. Later that day in gym class, while doing our warm up exercises (pushups), I saw these heavy black streaks all over the gym floor. At first I was like WTF? Then I remembered! The car had those little nobbies on the tires, so they left thin little lines that you could only see while up close. But they were everywhere. Thankfully, they rubbed right off the pristine floor finish with my shoes, so I spent that whole hour of gym class scooting my feet everywhere I ran. Anyway, thanks for the memories lol.
that is hilarious! Especially the fact that initially, you didnt know where they came from, ahahhahah!
🎥🎞🛢🔋
Now come to think of it I rather spent my $400 on a new hobby grade rc kit than a brand new Tyco bandit on eBay....Im a newbie so I just got into rc cars. Thank you for the buying guide keep up with the great work!👍🏻
Yeah...400 is kind of crazy!
The white smoke of shame.Tragic fate of many lost toys from the past.
That is the truth.
OK dad, yer gonna need another lil red one...
lol
Haha! I think so.
Great video 👍👍👍👍👍 I too am a lover of toy grade rc cars I have a tyco/ taiyo typhoon hovercraft a tandy/radioshack golden arrow and a few later date toy grade hitari knightrider and the A team van and always on the look out for the old stuff
Thank you! I also always have one eye open!
That so awesome to see (you got a great looking car), I also have a mint Tyco bandit too, I turned it to a shelf queen. It's functional, but clean looking. Nice too see it, hard to find older ones in good shape. Love your videos😀👍👍
Very cool! I have a whole series on the Bandit coming soon!
Those are the commercials that would get me so excited when I was a kid.
Great video my friend, great car 😁👊😁👊😁 great Run 😊👊😊still looks fantastic 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you. It really is a gem.
Cool stuff brotha! 👍👍👊👊📹📹
Thanks man!
I couldn't do it without modifying it, like sprung kingpins for front suspension, fast FK-180 or 390 size motor.... pure sacrilege and butchery! THIS is where/why a 3D scanner and 3D printer could be really awesome, the shapes are there for manipulating and updating without any guilt for doing fun things to the original.
Haha! I am ok with that on a beat up and broken car. This thing is MINT and I cannot touch this little guy.
That is fast!
Yeah surprising I know!
Lovely looking wee car, and definitely no slouch......I want THAT car lol
I know, i think it is faster than a box standard Grasshopper.
I wished I saw this video last year because I would have told you to get a better, nimh based 9.6v battery pack because it rips better 👌🏻
I do have one but the nickel metal hydride battery pack has lower voltage then the nickel cadmium version though I prefer the capacity of the modern nickel metal hydride
AMPRO Engineering I bought a Radioshack 2000mah one to replace my Tamiya QD which came with a 9.6v 900mah pack. My QD became speedier eventhough the QD has one feature advantage over the Tyco: its plastic bearings are replacable (5x11x2.5).
@@AMPROEngineering All my nicads/nimh have been relegated to the shelf I use 2s (sometimes 3s!) Lipos in my tycos now. The 1000-1300 mah packs meant for drones fit perfectly with a $3 adapter.
太棒了又更新了
我的荣幸!
Me as a kid that was born in 1997, my uncle had an RC and it was a very early release of the Honda NSX GT3 Tyco RC back in the very early 2000s. If I find my uncle’s favorite Tyco Rc back then, I’ll add it to my collection of RCs. I’m just getting to bored of the new toy graded Rc cars cause most of them make me very disappointed.
Yeah that is a shame
great video:)thx
Thank you!
I've discovered a fatal flaw with these Tyco pistol remotes that might explain why they switched to the box style.
The contacts on the trigger / wheel side have sharp raised points (to ensure good contact) and will eventually cut right through the copper sheet on the PCB side rendering that function useless. Mine have been permanently relegated to the display case.
Wow really? I have not seen an issue with mine. Now I need to look in there.
@@AMPROEngineering They're slathered with grease but the sharp points cut right through it so I'm thinking they all have an expiry date. The box remotes have sprung contacts that don't wear.
Wow you got the later version being single motor....before I think it was Twin Turbo.....I had the whole collection of Tyco stuff then sold them off during the recession...I still see of my cars on ebay still......NIB. Still got some NIB tyco stuff...say eliminator they say it was was the fastest tyco ever.
I don't know if this one ever came with two motors. The slightly larger Lamborghini did. A friend of mine had that car and it was fantastic
@@AMPROEngineering think your right they had another Ferrari with twin turbo.....The F40 was single, but very cool....thx for all these tyco videos brings back memories...
Oh Man,just let the little girl try it !
Oh she did! She really liked it.
Hey love you love your show. Can you please 3-D print the 2-speed drive gear and sell it to me ? Thanks!
I will have the gears in the 1st gen bandit done soon!
next time put the gloomy cat on the show! I want some closeup of the kitty
Haha! I will do that.
Taiyo Tyco Best Toy car
Wer is better Tyco bandit vs ferrari f40 race
Thank you! I totally agree.
Tyco is Bad Ass 🤪
They sure were.
I have a Nikko F40 that I came across. Looks similar, but I cant find any info on it. Unfortunately no remote.
Maybe another standard Nikko radio will work?
@@AMPROEngineering It worked!
Where can I get a new battery to fit these?
eBay has NiMh ones
@@AMPROEngineering thanks
I want to get a Tamiya Honda City turbo should I go for it?
Well, depends. To be honest, it is terrible. It has a certain novelty but...eh...I have never enjoyed driving it. Has none of the charm of the CW01's and the body fitment is a joke. Many people will disagree though so there are those that do love them...
The car says Taiyo, but the transmitter says Tyco.
Indeed but they are both Taiyo.
Great car, shame about the Porsche Fuchs wheels 😂
Yeah I know. I think this chassis was used on a Porsche at some time.
They made a porsche 911 in that chassis
I see that. They seemed to use the same wheels too.
Hi,
Back in 1993 for my first birthday , I had a Ferrari 348 . I remember it had no steering - just forward and backwards. It was pretty well made,(It's possible that it was Taiyo /Tyco i guess) but now it's disappeared and I'm looking for the same car. Do you have any idea of what the manufacturer could be ? Thank you!
Well Tyco did make a 348 but it was similar to this with non proportional steering. Maybe a google search would help. Im no expert.
great model alberto i love the old tyco,s i was lucky enough to pick up a tyco high jacker last year from a flea market of all places needed some tlc but she runs fine now remember this model ? ua-cam.com/video/3JmgUEl1PJE/v-deo.html
Oh i sure do! I had a few friends with these!
This thing hauls ass for a toy grade car.
Yeah it does. I want to do a speed comparison.
had a black and gold lambo tyco turbo
That is a seriously good one.
