I am still encountering the “fashion police” right here at home with a very conservative husband 😂. At the end of the day I wear what I feel comfortable wearing , but still asking for an opinion when I feel the need to.

You can be modest and fashionable- clothing stores are selling more modest/ fashionable clothing.

I’m always looking for stylish but conservative clothes. If it doesn’t feel right in my spirit I won’t wear it. Even in my twenties I kept it decent. Women I see are doing way too much, for example I have to take my boys to the barbershop with a young lady having her buttock out in an environment full of men. That’s just a lack of self esteem and respect , people should perhaps correct each other in love.

Almost as soon as they come into the world the children are subjected to fashion's influence. They hear more of dress than of their Saviour. They see their mothers consulting the fashion plates more earnestly than the Bible. The display of dress is treated as of greater importance than the development of character. Parents and children are robbed of that which is best and sweetest and truest in life. For fashion's sake they are cheated out of a preparation for the life to come. It was the adversary of all good who instigated the invention of the ever-changing fashions. He desires nothing so much as to bring grief and dishonor to God by working the misery and ruin of human beings. One of the means by which he most effectually accomplishes this is the devices of fashion that weaken the body as well as enfeeble the mind and belittle the soul. Ministry of Healing

This is a cam of worms 😂 .. I got these comments a lot growing up . At the end of the day it's you and God. Don't judge others, focus on yourself.

Great discussion, the issue of appropriate dress is based on relative values attempting to relate to the absolute. Modesty is the absolute principle that people of faith in all the Abrahamic religions aspire to, however, it greatly differs in its cultural expressions and interpretations. Therefore, the meaning or look of modesty changes over time, but the goal to divert attention from ourself is always the goal of the earnest believer.
The next question is there a degree of vanity permissible in our dress and self expression?
