- Sailors undertake their initial training at HMAS Cerberus in Victoria, before moving on to their job-specific training.
At Cerberus you will be supported and encouraged to become the best version of yourself.
The aim of the training is to take the strengths and qualities you already possess and build on them, while setting you up for a positive career in the Navy as a representative and defender of Australia's security and prosperity.
Throughout the course you will experience a blend of physical training, practical exercises and classroom learning. The staff are all active-duty members who have real life experience and a people first attitude.
Your whole individual will be supported as you grow in yourself and prepare for a role on an Australian warship.

1974 JRTE HMAS Leeuwin. A vast difference, but I'd do it all again!
Things have sure changed from my enlistment in March 67 {Moran Division}.... Do the previous intake still hang out the block windows greeting the new intake with " You'll be sorry" or is that another tradition that has gone by the wayside.
How good is the food?
I have it on good authority the food is pretty awesome. 🤌

@@angieroxy7550don’t know if you still need this but had a recruitment interview a couple weeks ago and they said yes however make sure to check the ingredients because some make you test positive for steroids

My God. What has the ADF become?
I'm assuming he's going to say it has changed to become easier. Not sure this video provided the entire insight into the training.
The ADF is still harsh and strict, but ads must cater to the younger generation. I'm 17, applying for the navy as we speak, however I'm preparing myself as if I was going to marine bootcamp.

How many RAN positions and how many applicants received in 2022?
Be lucky to be getting 50% of the quota. Need to look at offshore recruitment and lateral transfers for all services.
@@jamiesonsambarhunter 80,000 ADF applicants on average each year. Record 120,000 applications in 2021.
Only 8,000 accepted on average per year.
