The fact that Ned just so fearlessly faces what seemed at the time like certain death while singing a Doris Day song has to be the most badass thing anyone has ever done in the show
the fact this series had this song play shows how smart the staff was...a lesser show would of had some b.s. dumb mainstream song play people know like marvin gay the beatles or something....the fact hes singing que sera sera is just amazing in what the year 1995 lol
The dignity of him with his hands behind his back, quietly singing that song to himself knowing that he will die is a really cool image and thought about the character
Kinda weirdly heartwarming that a whole town filled with horrible people would rather all die together than let the only good man in town die alone... shit, that’s why this scene gets me every time. 😂😭
Early Simpson episodes were amazing in that they were not only hilarious, but almost always made you go “awwwe” at the end of each episode. Maggie’s first word comes to mind as a great heartwarming moment from that era.
Yeah I've seen this time and again since watching the Simpsons and all that years ago, it just becomes memes. Meanwhile there was actual moments of pain and reflection but it requires being an adult
Every time I watch this scene, I can’t help but think how perfect of an ending it would have been for the Simpsons. As the comet hit Springfield while they sing, it works amazingly for an ending.
Heh, yeah. And then SpongeBob SquarePants's final episode could've been "Dying for Pie," ending the series with Bikini Bottom blowing up and everyone dying.
Homer has many moments that reinforce the point that he’s a good man, but when he leaves the shelter first to be with Ned so he doesn’t die alone, well god damn if I didn’t get teary eyed. As much as he hates him Ned is Homers best friend, now I’m crying again & I love the Simpsons.
In a time of turmoil and anxiety, I feel this video is more poignant than ever. We need more Neds in the world; even faced with the end of it all, he sacrificed himself before forsaking selflessness and kindness.
Yeah, at 0:35 when his singing voice gets mixed with Lisa's, it sounds almost like a cartoon bubble voice, like Frank Welker's voice for Slimer (of "Real Ghostbusters" or Gogo Dodo (of "Tiny Toon Adventures"), or Dave Coulier's Mr. Woodchuck voice.
Esta escena de los Simpson es tan hermosa con Flanders cantando con vista a la ciudad de Springfield me hace pensar que el mundo a pesar de ser un lugar duro puede ser maravilloso
This could've been the perfect finale for the show. Alternative finale: Simpsons Movie One fish, two fish, blowfish, blue fish (although this was too early on)
I always thought that Ned, upon hearing and seeing his family and friends appear suddenly over the hill towards him, he'd have assumed he had already died, and was being greeted into his personal heaven.
I just went through all of the latest season as a skim through, and this minute clip from this one episode is so much better than anything I just watched.
I’m actually rewatching the entire show and I got to the episode right before it and I remembered what Homer did for , next thing you know I’m watching this. Everyone loves Ned Flanders.
The fact that Ned just so fearlessly faces what seemed at the time like certain death while singing a Doris Day song has to be the most badass thing anyone has ever done in the show
Ned was a genuine man of faith, which became an asset in a moment like this as he was not scared to die
He still ran when Quimby yelled so I guess he just accepted his fate, but still keeping some hope inside
Thats the bravery of a man who accepted Jesus in his heart
That moment where Ned is singing by himself as he looks upon the abandoned Springfield is very poignant to me.

@@razkable You just sound an old man with a grudge on the modern world.
This honestly could've worked as the last Simpsons episode. Say if the show ended at season 8, this could've been a great last episode.
Oh my god you’re right.
Ending with everyone dying??
@@Red-jl1qr but they didn’t die?
Would have been a great end 😭
@@Red-jl1qr Meh, it worked for Dinosaurs.

TBH this is kinda heart warming
Right? If the meteor didn't break up and they all died I would take this as a really beautiful bitter-sweet ending.

They combined satire and poignant story telling to great effect.
"let's go burn down the observatory so this will never happen again!" 😂😂😂
0:38 I love how Ned didn’t take his eyes off Homer when they were side by side. He wasn’t looking at his wife Maude, but his friend Homer.
I like to think he was pleasantly surprised at Homer’s selflessness
His relationship with his neighbor validates his faith in God
Moments like this is what made classic Simpsons so memorable.
Yeah I've seen this time and again since watching the Simpsons and all that years ago, it just becomes memes. Meanwhile there was actual moments of pain and reflection but it requires being an adult
This scene shows no matter how cruel or bad you are, there still some heart in everyone

Ahhhh Homer. The cause and solution to everyone's problems.
He is a fool, a lovable one at times but lets not get teary eyed over comedy.
Que Sera Ser- RUN!
I love the irony that if they all stayed in that shelter, it would've caved in on them when it was hit.
oh dear god no!
That was the joke
Wow that would have been dark especially if Ned saw all of them kill and crushed in his own bunker he would have been the only one left in town
Back when the Simpsons had heart

Man I hated what they did to Ned on later seasons.
If you can't find a Ned, then you need to be a Ned
This scene shows how Springfield citizens are united, going outside with Ned, knowing it could be their death
i mean they hijacked his bomb shelter and kicked him out
@@razkable 😂😂😂
It would be karma fault for there deaths if it wasn’t for irony that saved them talk about a double twist lol 😂
One of the more heartwarming simpsons moments
Seeing everyone come together to sing is just so inspiring
Best Simpsons episode!
It was so nice to see the Simpsons and the Flanders get along briefly, even their kids.
Barney’s singing voice really takes over

I love how it’s funny because Ned says little girl, but then wholesome when everyone joins
That’s how the song goes. My mom would sing it too me as a kid and would change the words
But they’re the lyrics 😂
Guess Neds too honest to change the lyrics.
