Also recommend doing a prepoo before the night before with apple cider vinegar (onto the scalp & gently rub it in) or tea tree oil (again straight into the scalp & gently rub in).
And make sure you use good clarifying shampoo or mask to remove product build up (focus on scalp w your finger tips gently rubbing in. Do not use your nails) & build a hair regimen that you can stick do depending on how you style your hair & current scalp health (e g., wash every week or every 2 weeks; scalp detox once a month or pre every wash day dependent on your scalp is prone to dryness, build up, or oily, etc)

Also a once a month rinse with vinegar water. One tablespoon in a spray bottle diluted with water (8oz.) Spray in sections only on the scalp, massage, then use your regular shampoo to wash and your scalp will thank you for it. I have a mop full of hair and sometimes product just likes to stay on my scalp. I use the vinegar rinse and it works, it's all natural, and also a natural antifungal.

Dry scalp is also an internal issue of not enough hydration to supply the scalp so the scalp flakes and or pulls oil for hydration. Congrats on the new product. This is exactly the problem I’m having at the moment. Didn’t understand why my scalp was sooo flaky days after washing. So I Brought my tangle tweezer to the salon this time n told my hairdresser to massage my scalp with it whilst shampooing. It’s a bit better but she didn’t get everywhere. Cause my shirt was flaky after she’d blowdried my hair 🙃, and I still got a few dry spots on my scalp the next day. Thanks for sharing this information Cyn, really helpful. ❤️

Amber U I always “prewash” my hair by lifting my dandruff at home and doing 1-2 hardcore scalp scrubs with medicated shampoo because I know the shampoo at the salon near me is more a massage than a deep cleanse 🤷🏾‍♀️ kind of annoying but it makes my hair cleaner (which always helps my skin from breaking out) and makes the style last longer

4:00 I really respect this. I wanted to get my hair cut (to shoulder length, shortest I've ever gone) because it was becoming a pain to care for. But the hairdresser was really reluctant like noo it's so long and asked me for confirmation several times and when I was dead set she then looked to my dad (who was my transport) for confirmation. Like wtf do you not want me as a client? I'm either getting my hair cut or nothing. Do you not want to cut hair? Why are you a hairdresser?? Why even look to my dad, as if he has any say over my hair, my body?
So much respect for hairdressers who do what the clients want even if they personally don't want to do it, or think it fits them (as long as the client isn't requesting something that's going to damage their hair, then they should ofc refuse and explain why). I had to go a second time because she convinced me the first time not to cut that much.
Unless it's and actual concern for my hair I don't appreciate hairdressers trying to get into my head.
