I look at a lot of natural hair tutorial videos and I swear yours are THE BEST! From the quotes to the in-depth step by step directions. I think you do an amazing job!
@@ninanano I've done like, the bare minimum of research and have found that it's just part of being a curly queen. They say keeping your hair moisturized can help but there's not really a way to prevent them ☹ fortunately they form at the end and can easily be removed with regular trims.
nadine The best way to keep them at bay is to keep your hair stretched, particularly if you have a kinkier texture. When you let curly/coily/kinky hair draw up, it will inevitably tangle up on itself and the strands will loop over on themselves and form knots. I have been wearing my hair natural since 2009. Every time I go in for a trim and she does a silk press, it is gorgeous with lots of shine and movement which lasts a glorious 10 minutes before it starts to revert back to my coils! Well at least I accomplished the trim.
As a natural I'm constantly getting single strand knots. I get my hair trimmed and they come back how can we prevent them? I cant retain length for constantly cutting my hair to get rid of them. Help!
Personally, the only way I kept them at bay was basically keeping my hair stretched 95% of the time. I don't stretch by means of heat, except a few times a year when I'm going to flat iron, or just want a blown out look. Outside of that, I do twist outs or having my hair in small two strand twists. To reduce breakage, if I do twist outs, I don't mess with my hair every night. I'm a lazy natural, so each style needs to last AT LEAST a week. So I'm bunning it if it's looking crazy after a few days. I have 4c hair through and through, and this cut down on single strand knots DRAMATICALLY. I silk pressed my hair last week after 5 months and had less than 10 knots. I NEVER let my hair dry/shrink in it's natural state, and I ALWAYS wash in twists. I hope this helps!
They can become a problem when your growing your hair past it’s plateau length. Plateau meaning no matter how you take care of your hair it’s only genetically designed to strong at a specific length
People don’t realize when your attempting to grow your hair past it’s strongest point (plateau length) you end up making your hair weaker because your trying to match your new length with an already weak point of your hair!
purpleurple191 the surefire way to fix this issue is to go to a professional stylist (unless you already are one) and get a precision cut to determine your plateau length! Go to a stylist that will give you a good 15-20 minute assessment of your hair during the consultation, if that stylist isn’t doing that leave and find one who will!

What’s the difference between natural and very very natural🤔😂 As always this silk press came out beautiful. I’m glad she thoroughly explained what all was going on with her ends and why she trimmed the amount she did. Makes perfect sense.
Just my thoughts: Natural...Heat trained hair that is natural, but mostly or most often worn straight. It's the natural without chemicals or the straight without chemicals. Just products, blow drying and/or pressing. Straight styles last longer because the hair is more trained. Natural/ natural or really natural is a person who has little to no heat during their journey. The occasional blow out or press. The straight style may not last as long. I could be wrong. I'm just guessing.
When you comb the hair around your head it naturally helps to maintain the original body and bounce from the fresh salon look since it’s being shaped by the round-ness of your head. So the advantage there is you won’t need to use heat again to recreate that look. As for covering it, it helps to retain moisture in the hair follicles since they’re not being dried out by the air. Your natural body heat from your scalp will allow the moisture from the original products used to penetrate and stay in the hair shaft so you won’t need to reapply moisturizing products.
@@RayneyKayLa exactly! They don't need to retain moisture, they don't require the same oils, nor do they need to wrap their hair for body and bounce 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I found the more I deep condition , moisturize and apply a concentrated amount of light refresher mist a light moisturizers and oil around my edges upper and lower nape area same for my roots mid shaft and ends. Yet i like to include a very light gel to seal my ends to protect them from twisting (make hair a lil' heavy via a moisture/hydrating product.) plus I rarely leave my hair "out." its mostly in a silk-like scarf say 16 hr. a day? That eliminates those issues for me. You are a lovely lady kee. And those hands are blessed.
I'm a white girl and I swear I'm addicted to watching these videos... they are SO SATISFYING, when you cut the ends off and make the hair look so healthy again. I would love to see a follow up of what this looks like after it goes back to being curly.
I’m a naturalista and I wear my hair out but I make sure I get a trim every 3 months because I am heavily color treated and I wear a lot of braids in between trims using the rice water method so I definitely make sure I keep up with my trims. This was beautiful‼️

I've been binge watching your videos and I love your positive and professional approach and I would trust you with my hair no doubt. Keep on Sis!
Only ONE God...Jesus! Great styling as always.
scripter09 - 🙌🏾 amen
Those are two different things.
Amen!
Living With Ericka I almost fell out my chair because I imagined your face as I read this because I know it was the same face I had as I read the initial comment 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great TEACHER......you explain why and how come 😉👍💗great job well done 👍
Can you do a demo on how to wrap long hair? I really cannot and I'm having tantrums in the mirror 😂
Mica _ I haven’t had long long hair in a while but I remember having to use Bobby pins to keep it in place
I find all your videos so relaxing. Am I the only one lol? She's so talented but her voice and what she does is so soothing.
I would love to see how the cut looks after the client washes their hair! Absolutely love the way you cut.
I’m not black and I only have 2a/b curly hair, but I love your videos they are so informative and satisfying! Growing up I went to a dance studio that had many black girls and I never knew how different their hair care routines and styling options were to mine. I was so intrigued by the concept of a weave / that one of my classmates long locs were not actually her real hair, and now I’m finally starting to understand the differences in care and styling. Thanks for shedding light on a topic I knew nothing about and helping me become more informed as to all the kinds of hair out there!! 🤍
I’ve been following you this whole time and had no clue you were in Philly... come to find out you’re on Walnut 1.0 mile away from my house. Lmaoo is this real?!?! Soon and Coronavirus is over I’m coming through!!!
Omg you’re so lucky 😭😭😭
I love this youtuber because, not ONLY does she do a good job at what she does but she can slay it✨
I have the same type hair🤷🏽♀️ My stylist just did the same thing to my hair. I’m excited for healthy hair❤️
As always - it is AMAZING that you know how to AND CAN get these results without relaxing hair! You are SO good and I just love watching you work!!
She is a cutie!! Love her hair, so bouncy and pretty.
The result is absolutely beautiful! I also love the quotes at the beginning of the videos, very inspiring.
*Hey sis♥B-more in the building!! I absolutely love her hair and yes she has to let those ends go. I was so happy to hear what you said about heat. I think it's common sense on the heat usage but everyone don't have that...smh. The one good thing here is her hair is very healthy and you did a beautiful job as always.*
Thank you!!
@@DeeperThanHairTv *You're welcome sis* ♥♥♥♥♥
I've been watching for just a bit. I love the way you correct the hair, scalp & issues. Your a rock 🌟 star, dear lady. Keep on fighting the good fight, sister!!!
Great work as usual! Thanks for sharing! Peace and Blessings to all!
I loved it when you first took the wrap down and the hair flipped to the front. That was a really nice look.
I would love for her to do my hair but unfortunately I live in London 🥺😩.
maybe if I go to America for a short vacation I'm gonna check her out.
You are an amazing stylist that not only knows hair but takes the time to instruct and explain how to care for all hair types. Thank you. I wish you vacationed in my area and could have a pop-up shop!! God Bless you and your businesses!
And I'm here FOR IT!!!!💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 #comment1like1, Js!😆

Deeper Than Hair TV ....”Lon-Scissorhands is my “runner-Up choice”😆😆
I’m SURE anyone there would be fine!👍🏾 Thanks for the reply Ke!❤️🖤❤️
Deeper Than Hair TV what color are your nails, I love the blue polish!
My hair is not natural, but I cannot stop watching these videos!! Very entertaining and satisfying to me !!
What’s the difference between natural and very very natural🤔😂 As always this silk press came out beautiful. I’m glad she thoroughly explained what all was going on with her ends and why she trimmed the amount she did. Makes perfect sense.
Just my thoughts:
Natural...Heat trained hair that is natural, but mostly or most often worn straight.
Lol! I meant natual as in still getting heat styles vs. Wearing fros, twists etc majority of the time
@@DeeperThanHairTv 👍
Deeper Than Hair TV cool dry or warm? Long long?
@@mississippiqueen2u I was thinking the same thing too.
Her videos are so satisfying, I can watch them all day and learn!!! Thank you!!
Girl you slayed her hair! I wish you were closer to Mississippi so I could get my hair done by you.
Felicia Dunn that’s what I’m saying! All the great natural stylists stay far away from us 😭
I love watching your vids. The transformations are incredible, and your client’s always have soft, hydrated hair when they leave.
Hi can someone explain the extra step of wrapping the hair and covering it?
Ps Your work is beautiful and your voice is lovely!
Mrs Foodfairy thank you!
Chinel B. Thank you!
@@reneehilscher6176 stop revealing info to nonblack folks👀
@@RayneyKayLa exactly! They don't need to retain moisture, they don't require the same oils, nor do they need to wrap their hair for body and bounce 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Her hair is so beautiful! It's almost blue-black. So shiny and healthy!
Omg I'd love this lady to do my hair...wish she had a salon in the uk
1:08 she looks so beautiful 😍 the skin and hair ugh we are just so beautiful 😩😩😩
I have 4c hair and I love how long our hair is when straightened out!
eat all now save none 4 later me too. It’s so magical!
I really want a silk press, but so worried about heat damage. 3C natural, wearing it curly 99% of the time. What to do?!
Yes GAWD! This cut, this lay, that movement, that shine!!😍
wow!!! makes me feel like jumping on a flight allllllll the way from Zambia, Africa to go n get my hair done. kikikiki
I found the more I deep condition , moisturize and apply a concentrated amount of light refresher mist a light moisturizers and oil around my edges upper and lower nape area same for my roots mid shaft and ends. Yet i like to include a very light gel to seal my ends to protect them from twisting (make hair a lil' heavy via a moisture/hydrating product.)
plus I rarely leave my hair "out." its mostly in a silk-like scarf say 16 hr.
Oh gawd😮... I fell off the toilet when she cut that much hair off😅Beautiful Job🥰
Right! That wasn't a "trim". It was definitely a hair cut. There is a difference! It looked good. She did need it though.
She needed it
Bronzino she needed it maybe more
@@bronzino8213 a hair cut is 3 or more inches. A trim is less.
@@rainandpetalsss6244 They stated in the video that it was a cut.
I’ve watched allot of these types of videos and you’re by far my favorite channel to watch!! Your technique is definitely in a class by itself bc I’ve seen some disasters recently 😫😫💀
Gurrrrrl you SSSsss....LAY❣️😱💯 I would soooo love for you to work with my natural hair which is pass my shoulder length-blown out it’s down pass my back! If she drove from Baltimore, am in Chicago, and where u at? I’ll take a vacation just to have my hair done by you hunty🥰💯❣️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Lol! Philly & LA
I am obsessed about my ends way more now than I used to be and my hair is happier, but it I still get those fairy knots whether I wear it straightened for a few months or two-strand twists. So, with my 4C hair - I’ll sit with the bathroom light behind my head with a mirror mounted to the back of my door to see them better. 😤 One of these, I’ll make it to you 🤗🤗🤗
