Hi Tina just thought you would like to know a bit about Ernest Nister he was born in 1841 and died in 1906 was a published printer of moveable books for children and paper ephemera such as greeting cards post cards and calendar he was born in Damstadt germany he was the first to invent automatic pop-up books the older original first edition books can be found in antiquarian book stores louis wain was one of the first who worked for him another book you might be interested in is The Botanist's sticker Anthology has lots of different stickers best wishes Vivienne from Tasmania xx
Love the women of flowers! I bought one. I just love the paper it’s thick so nice feeling. Plus tons of beautiful flower pics! Just a great book to make lots!!!
Lovely books I love the last one beautiful photographs Thank you xx😁❤️🦋
With smaller children's books, could cut the whole page and put it in a journal so it would be still functional. A interactive journal!!!
What a great haul. I used to love the pop-up books when I was a child! ~Velvet
Love the Lewis Carroll book! Great haul with many fabulous projects coming I am sure. Good to treat yourself now and then. Hugs and blessings, 🇨🇦❤️🤗
Just a useful suggestion. You could make scans of the images and then print them out. You can also copy the larger images and print out in a smaller size. I never cut up a book anymore. As long as you use it for your own use there are not copyright issues. The really dimensional ones just take a photo and print them out.
Sorry This is not entirely true if uploaded to social media and you tell thousands of people what you are doing. Lol.x
If it's vintage floral and nature images you're after, go to the Biodiversity Heritage Library website. They have so many botanical and flora/fauna images there that you'll never get bored; and they're in the public domain, so you can print/resize and use as you like.
Copyright law refers to copying whatever the use.
Morning Tina, what a wonderful haul of super books. Love the pop up books which takes me back to when my son was a small boy. Unfortunatley, I have given away ALL his childhood books, am I now kicking myself!!!!!!! Anyway, looking forward to seeing what out next adventure will be using these wonderful images. I have to add, my 3 favourites are the gardens of England, both, and then the Lewis Carrol book. AWESOME. Enjoy them my friend, you deserve it. Blessings and hugs as always. Diana
England is a garden is one of my favourites had it for years
What a great haul! I especially like "Women of Flowers". I'll have to look for that.
These books are all worth reading, thanks so much for sharing! 💫 Keep rising to be who you want to be! #keeprising #risingtobe #aswerise #riser
Love these kind of books. Major score.
Fun! Can’t wait to see how you use them!!
Your videos are keeping me going atm. Thank you
I can not wait to see what you do with the pop up books.
I love abebooks. I live in the US, and they ship worldwide. And, for example, Women of Flowers is available within the US with free shipping, $6.61.
Pretty awesome Tina. Love them !!
Absolutely gorgeous books 🌺🦋 I don’t think ide have the heart to cut them up 🤭 but I’m looking forward to seeing how you use them 😊 tfs 💖
Hi Tina I just watched this video this morning. I'm on holiday at present and went to a local Op Shop ( what we call a charity shop in NZ). I found 2 books 📚. " New Zealand is a Garden" and "Auckland is a Garden"!!! Not as nice as your Lake District one but handy nevertheless. I can hardly wait to see what you do with yours. Just couldn't believe it. Hugs 💐
What an awesome haul Tina!
Tina, these books I thought were so fantastic I bought 4 of them. Hubby is going to be so very upset with me when he sees them in the daily mail. I had better get busy, make a journal and sell it quickly. I buy buy buy but just hoard hoard hoard...lol. You'll probably hear him from the USA saying "what did you buy now." Its what he always says...hugs from Arizona...:)
What a lovely haul. I bet your daughter loved or will love reading them. So sweet!
I have a lot of these, have been trying to decide how to use them! TFS! HUGS
Nice book haul, so exciting! Thank you for showing them! Looking forward to seeing how you use them (after hoarding them for a while). I do the same.
Has your daughter seen them? I think they'd be right up her alley!
Interesting indeed!
Tina, I've been a naughty girl. I saw your video on these cute books and bought six of them...oops. I confess, I am a hoarder. And I think I'm going to have a really hard time ripping into these. They are so cute and I can't wait to see what you do with yours.
These books are beautiful Tina. It will be awesome to see what you do with them. Have a blessed day 🙂.
These are great books. The one pop up book that you said the pictures would be easy to use because of them being the entire picture, it reminded me of doing waterfalls in mini albums like that. TFS
My favorite is the castle. Would love to see what you come up with Tina.
Wonderful haul. It's good to do something for yourself every now and then. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them. Lots of hugs to you and the kids.
This is a fantastic haul, Tina! Now to start playing with them, lol! 💕
Have you ever heard of Robert Sabuda? He is a famous pop up book master here in the US. You would NEVER cut them up, however, they are too beautiful!!
They are just gorgeous love love the books such a fantastic find . ❤ can't wait to see what you make with them. Happy crafting.
I can’t wait to see how you use the pop up books and the Nister books in your journals or tags or whatever you come up with!!
Maybe try to cut down the pages the pop up and moving pictures are on so they would fit in a journal. That way they would still move and work as intended instead of taking them apart to use the pieces. Just a thought
🔆What super fun books…they’re absolutely incredible!!!🔆
Wow that's a huge haul 😃! Oh I didn't see your pop up one, must've been before my time. These are beautiful 😍. Oh we spent a lot of time in the lake district when I was young, very beautiful. Maybe do a big lap book? A 'once upon a time' one. £4 is a bargain! Oh that Lewis Carroll one is cool, yes he did all sorts. Now, how long will you hoard them?😄. Tfs 💖💖
Nice haul!
Tina, you got you some great books there, they’re awesome!🥰 Love those books!❤️ I would think your daughter would love those books!😁
LOVE YOUR HAUL TINA-THOSE 2 FIRST LITTLE BOOKS ARE SO ADORABLE-TFS-HUGS/BLESSINGS
I found one of these books, it had a pull down that flipped the image up, so both intact. I've cut them out for note cards.
Wow! I think I'd have to hold on to them quite a while before cutting into them. Beautiful art!
I am anxious to see how you use the pop up book. Please don’t hoard them for too long! You had a great shopping time!🇨🇦
Just a thought but there are dies to do waterfall cards and the round moving round image. Nice idea to incorporate these features into journals. I couldn't chop a beautiful book up though! Good luck with that x
Oh thank you for that Sandra, I will have to look them up x
Tina: the books are delightful. I can see some exciting things you can do with them. Carol from California
Great haul...that book with the moving parts is fantastic!
What a wonderful treasure of books!
Fabulous books! Fun times ahead with these 👍❤
Hi Tina, I went onto Abe books and purchased “The Lake District is a Garden”. It’s a gorgeous book. I can’t wait to see what you do with it. All of the books you purchased are awesome. Hugs 🤗
Thank you
Just lovely books very inspiring thanks for sharing
Tina..how are you and your kids going?? Gourgous books...I have a couple of those picture changing books...one I got from "santa when I was little.(which I obiously wont be using, that particular one )...would love to see how you use them, especially the pop up books....stay happy and positive..best wishes...Michelle in QLD Australia..I😊😊😊♥️♥️♥️
I have those books. I bought them over 30 years ago!
Aww I like the 'My Hobby Horse' pop-out picture :3
Great haul! Beautiful books!💕
Wow pop up books they are beautiful. Great haul
I think the smaller books you found go in the big pop-up books . I noticed in one of the pages there was a book on the page.
I have some of his books too.😀. Love them!😀😀
Lovely books, I have indeed been over to the bookstores online for a peek.
...made me remember a book I've been hoarding, thinking now that I can just purchase another copy. Looked at the cover and lo and behold what I have is Volume 7 (Scenes From Seasons Past by Claudia Nice, presented by Sue Scheewe), so somewhere out there are at least six more volumes! Yee haa! Thanks Tina, XOX. MK ❤🤗🏜
Great haul!❤️
Thank you so much jo ann, happy new year to you, I hope you are all doing great xx
Great Haul 😍🐞🥰
Thank you Lala x
Great haul!
Just an interesting fact. Ernest Nister is not a Victorian-inspired artist he is an actual Victorian. And he doesn’t produce anymore new books as he passed away in 1909.
I love vintage books! Seems a shame to spoil them by cutting them up. I think maybe using books that are damaged would be better, for using pictures from.
🥰
so ya
I have two copies of England is a Garden. Can you guess why?
how can I get Lake District is a Garden book?Thank you,
Been shopping....😳beautiful books. I have England Is a garden. I’m into the history of women and flowers or plants. I bought a huge huge fairy tale book. Just wondering how to use the pictures. Aren’t pop up books wonderful? Tell Rapunzel not to let him in and to find some good women friends!!
Lewis Carroll photographed little girls. His reputation is slightly tarnished these days 😳
Love your book haul, Tina, crazy about books myself,,,, but just a side note, Carol Lewis loved little girls,,,,, not in a good way. Sorry, don't want to burst your bubble, but just look at those little faces... Anyway, enjoy your books, nothing as exciting as holding a wonderful book in your hands, tfs
Hi Tina,
Lovely books and what a coincidence that you are showing the Lewis Carol book. Just today I saw this video on UA-cam about his photography.
This is the link; ua-cam.com/video/LiRqu4ipTU0/v-deo.html
The girl on the front cover is actually the Alice that he wrote the story for.
He was quite controversial in his photography, but talented he sure was.
Hugs
Maud
🌼🌞❤️🌸🌞🇨🇦
Yes, Lewis Carol liked very young girls if you get my meaning.
So sad to look at those little faces.....
Hello Tina I want to write you a personal letter. What email address can I use.
