These projects are lovely and so clever. You reminded me that I have a stack of bird themed supplies just waiting to be made into a junk journal. I just love birds and taking a peek inside your treasured books was fun.
Thanks Phinny, yes they were great books and I love a bird theme too, I use them a lot. I think we both are going to have to make a bird junk journal, aren't we? 💗💗
Thanks Elaine, I love to use them, they are often on quite nice quality paper too and yes, I think quite a few of us have a lot of them, it is a natural by-product of journaling! 😂💗
I specifically bought a die to make a small coin envelope to hold gift cards. I used it twice and now, after watching your fabulous video, I do not need to buy anymore dies for envelopes. I can just re-watch your video and grab some paper and make one. So simple! thank you
Kari, you are so clever and inventive. I also love that you keep things fresh and bring us new ideas. I'd have never thought of making some of these! Thank you so much for sharing. You're very good at explaining and I don't measure things either! 😁Such lovely books, too! I quite envy them. I adore to go to used book stores and thrift shops to find these sorts of treasures. I've no qualms cutting up and old book. It gives them new life, doesn't it? I do hope you are well, my dear. Much Love and Bless xoxo
Thank you so much Lindsey, I do try to think of new things every week. Yes, I do love books with nature and art in them - heaven! I have been altering/repurposing books for over 20 years now (old ones make great sketchbooks), I love to see them get new life. I hope you are keeping well too, love and blessings! 💗XX💗
Oh thank you very much Terri, yes use up those beautiful book pages, mine had been hanging around waiting for me to decide what to do with them for ages! 💗💗
I knew there was a perfect reason to keep those National Geographic special edition folios. I’m such a fan of maps and they aren’t as plentiful as they used to be. I think a moth stencil might be in order. Totally off topic ~ you have such lovely hands and your manicure is so elegant.
Kari, This is such a great video. Extremely helpful and so creative. Please do more videos using book pages. Most of us junk journal folks...have loads of books
Thanks Ker, I love it when I find a good larger book, especially beautifully illustrated ones like these. I am glad you have found some too and that you can use these ideas! 💗💗
Wonderful way to repurpose and saving them from certain death! Why not use?? What's the other option , set on a shelf forever? No enjoyment in that. 've been focused on using up my book pages, so this was perfect timing. Thank you for sharing! I've saved, and I'll have to watch over and over, as my memory stinks! Lol P.s. your last video was good! Lol
Thanks so much Christy, yes, I do like to give old, unloved books new life and I am glad you will be doing some of these too. Yes, I feel you with the memory thing, LOL! 💗💗
So many great ideas! I know what I’m doing this weekend 🙂. Where did you get your paper folder? It’s such a smart idea I have a lot of outdated textbooks that I use in my junk journals. The science and foreign language books are my favorites.
Thanks Heather - have fun making some of these bits and pieces. I love science and foreign language books too as well as mathematics and engineering. We are a funny lot, aren't we? 💗💗
Shame they don't give some books a chance, I've brought vintage books before charity shops were about to throw away, love what you have done lots of different ways xx
Thanks Tracey, I think apart from fairly modern paperbacks, older books don't sell too well, it is a shame, but I do like to give them new life in the form of journals and ephemera (I can never type the word epehera, empemera, ephemera)! 💗💗
Thanks, yes indeed, these large pages are difficult to use in smaller journals without cutting too much out, a larger journal would be great for them! 💗
Thanks for all the ideas. Did you ever show your grungy journal finished? I don’t seem to be able to find the video of it and I would love to se it as I’ve made two like it.
Thank you, my grungy journal is still a work in progress, I have some more pages to do and then I will do a flip-through. Oh my goodness, you made two? That is amazing! 💗💗
All so clever. And these book pages are gorgeous, indeed. Thank you, Kari.❤
Thank you very much! 🩷
I love bird books and enjoyed seeing all your makes with them... Bird journal sounds great 🐦🐦😁😁💖
Thanks so much, yes a bird journal is going to have to happen! 😊💗

Thank you, I didn't know such a die existed, but yeah, these envelopes are so easy to make! 💗💗

Thank you very much! 💗💗
handy to know, especially if you were going to make a bigger journal🙂

I finally cut into the Diary of Edwardian Lady. I’ve held it for too long, needs to be repurposed .
It is so hard to break into such a lovely book, but those pages will be put to very good use, I am sure Elizabeth! 💗💗
In all honesty you could photocopy all the art that you need from the books, and not destroy thosebeautiful books.
Thanks Judith, it is OK, the books were destined to be destroyed anyway, I enjoy repurposing them into new things to save them from the landfill. 💗💗
