The 1996 CD release of "Other sides" has pictures of the boxes of Elvis' discarded clothing being delivered to be cut up for the project. The volume one set was split into the two single sleeve sets for the RCA record club. "Other Sides" was never split up the same way.
@@cheapbeat-upelvispresleyvi6195 That's correct. When you see catalogue numbers starting with an R (R213690 for vol 1/2) , those were the record club versions. They did something similar with the Aloha set. The stereo Aloha versions (regular non-quad labels) with no die cut in the covers were R213736, available from the record club only.
The RCA producer that worked on this set has said in an interview that he went to Graceland to collect the clothing. He said that among the items was the white “If I Can Dream” suit, which he took back. A good job he recognised it.
That is shocking!! What were the Graceland staff thinking when they handed that white suit over? In fact why did they do that at all. I understand Elvis had a lot of clothes, he wore something different in every photo you saw of him, other than the jumpsuits. It would have been better to auction off Elvis' clothes to fans and collectors, and donate the proceeds to a Memphis charity. I think Elvis would have liked that.
@@cheapbeat-upelvispresleyvi6195 It was inside the box on top of the 4 discs and the poster. You really need to get a copy of the Presleyana VIII price guide.
Love your very talkative cat she sounds so sweet. And the boxset you showed I have the 1974 release parts 1-2 , and 3-4, each one being a two album set. And than I have the 1996 release on cd THE OTHER SIDES ( two cd set ) . Both are great boxsets, congrats on over 300 hundred subscribers!!!! You will be at 3k in no time.
Hi Sir The other sides , it was released on vinyl I got 2 same US pressings on dynaflex One boxset with the poster , other one doesn't have But no pieces of Elvis clothing where there , when I bought them Thanks always for your videos, and take care from Malta
It was released on vynil in the 1970s world wide hits I found a copy in a second hand record shop a few years ago complete with a peace of clothing and a photo album
LOL you are so funny! Did your wife throw the confetti over you? And I wish you had picked up Samantha and shown her to us🥰 My cats get all anxious when I sit and talk into my camera, and I have to pat them or hush them! I had the Elvis Sails EP for years, but lost it when I moved...spitting chips. I doubt if it would ever turn up on ebay , must be scarce as hens' teeth.
Hey Patracat. Yes, my future ex-wife threw the confetti and the cup at me. I think the cats get nervous because they don't understand the camera, and they just think you're toaking to them but not interacting. One day I'm gonna come across the Elvis Sails EP in the wild ... or maybe not. :)
Love your channel! Great job! 👍🏻

Wow! Thanks for the great info, Mike! So the parts 1 and 2, and 3 and 4 releases were only available through RCA record club, not in stores?

Wow, good thing he caught that. I wonder who was responsible for putting it in the "giveaway" pile? Thanks for the info TCB !

I just bought my copy of "The Other Sides" with the clothing swatch, was still sealed until I opened it. Nice light blue fabric.
That's fantastic! Was the swatch in a small envelope attached to top left of the cover, or in an envelope INSIDE of the sealed LP?

Thanks for the kind words Kerry. Little Samantha is very vocal, and MUST be in the room that I occupy - at all times, and at any cost! Cheers !
Christian, it baffles me that you don’t have at least a 1k followers. I’m here, so you’re good 😅. Love watching.
Thanks a heap, Frances! I’m having a blast, and hope y’all are too!

Hey Josef! Sounds like you’ve got some good ones! I’m missing a lot of the inserts on my Elvis albums- but I’m not done yet! Cheers!

Dang, great find! I’d love to run across one with the piece of cloth. Cheers!
"That's exactly what I would've done and Elvis is proud of you"... if you could work that phrase into every video, we can reach 1,000 subscribers!!!
Now that’s what I call some good thinking!

I think I have this box set in more of a beat up state than yours 😂 mine has fallen apart with bonus coffee stains.
So you’ve got the limited edition “coffee stains” version! Awesome! :)
Do you have the blue Hawaii 3 lp box set? On laurel label?
Hey Erik. No, I do not. Is it good?
