About Frostpunk:
Frostpunk is a brand-new title from the creators of This War of Mine. It’s a society survival game that asks what people are capable of when pushed to the brink of extinction. In an entirely frozen world, people develop steam-powered technology to oppose the overwhelming cold. The city’s ruler has to manage both the citizens and the infrastructure they live in. The leader’s tactical skills face challenges that will frequently question morality and the basic foundations of what we consider organized society. Optimization and resource management often clash with empathy and thoughtful decision-making. While city and society management will consume most of the ruler’s time, at some point exploration of the outside world is necessary to understand its history and present state.
What decisions will you make to ensure the survival of your society? What will you do when pushed to the limit? And...
...who will you become in the process?
THE CITY MUST SURVIVE
Frostpunk is a society survival game where heat means life and every decision comes with a cost. You face the task of building the last city on Earth and securing the means necessary for your people to survive.
MAINTAIN HOPE
Survival is about hope and the will to live. Your ability to spark and maintain them both in your people will be a deciding factor in your success.
MAKE THE LAW
Society is a group of people who abide by the same rules and share similar beliefs. Establish laws that regulate the existence of your growing society. Decide on their working routine, healthcare, food provision and other crucial aspects of everyday life. Maintain their hope and contentment - the moral condition of your society is as important as securing the basic means to keep them fed and safe.
WEIGH UP YOUR CHOICES
Some of your decisions will seem small - like deciding the fate of a troubled citizen or meeting the demands of a newborn faction - but be aware that the sum of your doings can lead to unexpected results. Your people put their faith in you, but their devotion is not limitless. Leadership can be a burden.
DEVELOP NEW TECHNOLOGIES
Survival demands progress. React to current events, but don’t forget about the long term and investing in development and technological progress. Providing a highly advanced infrastructure with self-powered automatons, airships and other technical wonders is difficult, but achievable. It all depends on your management and leadership skills.
EXPLORE THE FROSTLAND
While New London is your main focus, there is much more to the world than what lies within the limits of your city. Expeditions, while risky, can bring you valuable intel, precious supplies and grow your society’s population. There may be people out there, and their fate lies solely in your hands.
SHAPE YOUR SOCIETY
If you reach a turning point, do not hesitate to determine the path of your people. Should you rule them with an iron fist... or show them a way of compassion and faith? Reach for extremes or try to find a fair balance. Whichever you choose, remember: there’s no turning back.
GO BEYOND THE CAMPAIGN
The main story campaign can go different ways depending on your playstyle, but it is still not the only challenge to tackle. Frostpunk offers different scenarios and additional updates with new content will be added in the future.

No need to turn off the heaters if no people are inside, it is not consuming coal if no one is inside
You are correct.
I would mention steam vents as well. Steam vents extend the heatzones produced by your central Generator. You can set them up so that they run 24hours, or only during your work shifts (both regular or extended). Either way, strategically placing these around a cluster of work buildings will help you immensely once the temperature drops.
You have a good point! I have found that utilizing those in 2nd scenario to protect the Arks is a must.
'People are a resource, I'm getting some Negan vibes. Anyway, great video, thanks for the tips.
Good tips, But for the outpost teams in new hope, I send them to the steam core ASAP, And get steam coal thumper 2 automatons on 2 thumpers and 8 on gathering posts and you NEVER have to worry about coal.
I dont even use any of the other coal buildings just the thumpers, And dont wast your time with any other building for wood other the the steam wall drill, 2 of them with automatons and that all you need.
Thank you for your tips!
I liked the video and there were some good tips, especially for newer players. I must correct you on one point though. Workshops can stack as much as you build, afaik. I've had 8 of them going at some point, giving the bonus.
Oh and the bonus was stacking up? I was under the impression there was a cap. It could be a soft cap and the added benefit goes down after? Can you check what percentages you were getting with eight?
It is a soft cap not a hard cap. After it's either 4 to maybe 6 I don't remember off hand the amount they help goes down.
emergency and extended shift and child labor are the first things to pick up in the book of laws along with soup. then to fix the discontent associated with soup pick up the public house and whiskey.
I'd say child labor is not completely necessary. You get some nice bonuses if you decide they should be in shelters.
hmm you it depends on the situation but after a while you have to build more shelters to put them in.
Or you can let those you find out in the Frostland to just freeze to death. I love the options in this game :D
hahaha i have done that a few times to reduce the population coming into the city.
you know i blew up the genny just for fun. i love this game.
every additional workshop after the 3rd one gives a 10% boost to research rate. (1=100%, 2=130%, 3=150%, 4=160% 5+ = +10% each). there is no cap to this
3 is the sweet spot, rotate 24hr shift and you can keep it going all the time.
@7:41 and how much costs the tent?
If I build 4 workshops to increase the research output, does it matter if I staff them or not, like do I still get the extra performance if I build the extra workshops and not staff them or will I only get the extra performance if I build them and then staff them as well
You have to staff them
Nice tips man! Just started playing today, my population lost all hope and banned me xD
Next time you ban them!
Same lol
i think instead of making more than one beacon u should be able to have more than one explorer for the beacon
Made sure to beat all scenarios before I watched this so I can see if I came to the same conclusions
And what did you conclude?
He never responded
@@KokoplaysMB oh hahahah...sorry man, I honestly didn't get a notification for this reply (I typically try to reply to every reply to my comments)...and this was 2 years ago, so I genuinely don't remember. I haven't played this game in a year, but I do intend to go back to it
You didint mention the steel core outpost.
That one would be THE most important outpost. If you can get 10-12 steam cores from the outpost and explore everywhere, you can have fully upgraded and automated coal mines, wall drills and infirmaries. Then it's just a matter of sitting back and waiting for the resources to pile in. I typically have about 50k coal stashed away before the storm in the main story.
