    He should bring back the original drummer and bass player and Ricks son or relative!
    Quo died with Rick who was a rock n roll rythmn machine and the heart and soul of the sound

    Went off FR back in 85, that said I would go and see them every year.
    I did that up until 2014 after the Glasgow FF gig, it's not Quo without Rick. Keep going if you want, but it ain't Quo!

    There’s this interview with Francis and Rick on Lee Hawkins quo page transcribed from Scotland Sunday Herald (Sept 12th 2004) titled Status Anxiety by Peter Ross: - (...) “Was it the cocaine making you so cold-hearted?” I ask. “No,” he replies. “I’m like that. I’m a bit strange like that. Like when my mother died. I knew she was dying, and when I was woken at seven in the morning and told she had died downstairs, right beneath me, I rolled over and went back to sleep till nine.” Parfitt says he sometimes thinks his best friend is completely void of emotion yet in the book Rossi confesses that even as a teenager he would often burst into tears when upset. “I still cry very easily,” he explains when I ask about this. “I wouldn’t cry over my mother dying or my father dying but I cry while watching ET. Or last night when I was watching Jerry Maguire. Movies, false situations which are designed to make you turn the taps on work for me, but not real life.” (...)

    He's not a cunt or rude, he's a damn professional. I thought he was very honest, grounded and quite funny. I think it's just hard for him to get real enthusiastic about his band nowadays with him doing it for so long and all that's happened over the years. It's not been an easy ride, and it still isn't. And no it wasn't all perfect. There's been some bad decisions and directions for Quo over the years, but Rossi keeps going and doing what he thinks is best for himself and the band. He's a tough one and I respect him immensely.

      Strongly disagree. This is Francis as he has always been - funny, straight talking, honest, self- deprecating, sarcastic, and humble. The interviewer was banal and annoying.

    the interviewer should have been more prepared. Francis` s attitude towards HM is well
    known by now.

      I was expecting him to slag the thing off completely, but was really surprised when he said he liked Metallica and Megadeth. Well moreso Megadeth cos he probably would only like the lame shit like Nothing Else Matters and Unforgiven 1 and 2.

    Not the best interviewer however Rossis' behaviour is shocking and reveals how smug and up himself he really is . Watch the footage from the last Polish gig and see him all smiles with other band mates yet ignoring Rick Parfitt . Shame on him awful man

    • @urasam2
      @urasam2 3 роки тому

      Totally disagree. Francis was the opposite of smug. He was in fact quite humble- he said he had no idea why they were booked on heavy metal shows as they are a pop band. If the interviewer had asked me the same stupid questions my reaction would have been exactly the same

  • @folginator
    @folginator 7 років тому +7

    True, the interviewer is very bad and the questions are inane but Rossi has become a bore without Rick. They've suddenly abandoned "Aqoustic" and plugged back in. Is it because ticket sales will continue to decline without Rick and them murdering classic Quo songs by playing them acoustically? Rossi should finally put the band to rest, it's a very sad ending to a once fine band RIP.

    I love Francis, but I think he's been doing this too long, he's turning into a grumpy old man, (in the nicest possible way), I understand he gets asked the same questions all the time, but it's part of the whole tour thing. And if anyone disagrees then I'm sure even Mr Rossi would find it funny to be described as a 'grumpy old man' I think he would be the first to admit it. He doesn't have the patience for it.

    Poor old man ! You will have no succees in the future without Ricky ! The old true fans are gone and will never come back ! Your audience is dead ! It was only the name of the Tour ! Last night of the electrics ! Next tour maybe half of the people will come ! Quo was great but without Rick its comedy 😂Rick & Lemmy forever💖

    • @callmekarlos6184
      @callmekarlos6184 6 років тому

      No, not all "true fans" maybe one out of three is like "no rick no gig". In addition, there are 50 out of 5000 who are hardcore fans, the rest knows "In The Army Now", "Rocking All Over The World" and a few others. The audiences won't become smaller.

    There's a few reasons why it's weird that Status Quo played Wacken:
    a) Wacken is a metal festival and Status Quo isn't a metal band (though they have played Download and Sweden rock)
    b) This was announced after Quo did their "Last Night of the Electrics" tour and were supposed to be doing nothing but acoustic gigs so it's like "wait Quo are gonna do an acoustic gig at Wacken?"

    • @arnovanleuven645
      @arnovanleuven645 7 років тому +1

      + they also played at Hellfest Open Air in France.
      I agree its weird with this current line up of Status Quo but it would not be if the Frantic Four were still together. But after all they still rocked the gig so heads down for that. Quo came, saw and conquered in front of +75.000 heavy metal fans.

    • @LittleNorsePrince
      @LittleNorsePrince 7 років тому

      It was fucking weird. Still, I went to watch them. They were like "I am sure you're wondering why we're here, so are we".
      But fuck it, they seem to be booking classic bands that aren't metal. I ain't a problem with that as long as the festival remains metal, because many people still appreciate them (I mean, we had Foreigner last year, and Boomtown Rats this year).

    • @arnovanleuven645
      @arnovanleuven645 7 років тому

      Haha exactly! And Deep Purple in 2013

    • @LittleNorsePrince
      @LittleNorsePrince 7 років тому +1

      Yep! And they were amazing and so happy I got to see them. Heck, ain't be disappointed with any of them, well, I missed Boomtown Rats anyway, I didn't realise it was on the Wednesday and I spent that night in the village. Not a normally a fan, but then not normally a Status Quo fan, but can appreciate them and their significance and would have watched Boomtown Rats for the same reason. And Status Quo put on a great set.

  • @markosbientos9287
    @markosbientos9287 6 років тому +1

    This is the problem. He has been doing it so long he is fed up with answering the same old interview questions! And puts on this silly act.
    BUT!! I think he is very rude in this interview and his attempt at humour, bordering on patronization of the interviewer who is welcoming them to his country.
    Yes. he and Rick were funny together with banter, but this was a bit cringe worthy and he should be lucky that people still offer work to them. If he wants to give up then do so. But he can't let go, whether it's ego or the thought of the end of SQ.
    I have always been a big fan of their music. I have an 'END OF THE ROAD TOUR 84" jacket in my wardrobe.
    perhaps 2018 might be the year.......

    Always admired Roosi as a leader but he had this dontcare attitude because he was a success from very young and always believed in himself. Ofcorse here the interviewer wasnt very confident and that set the tone for Rossi to act this way. But good listening.

    Just to add to what most everyone else is saying....i was brought up on 70's Quo, Rossi is one the reasons I've been a guitarist from some 40yrs, but he really is a bit of a dick & disappointing nowadays, as is demonstrated here. During the period Piledriver-Blue4u they were untouchable, but from Rockin all over the world the business side really took over and I've never liked them since...commercial shite. Seek out a UA-cam vid from Stafford Bingley Hall '76 & see how they were at their absolute peak, maybe not in terms of success, but certainly as a live & 'proper' band !!

    i m a quo fan since the 70 ,and til 75 they were great ,but rossi disapointed me.he showed no sadness or empathie, for the dead of his old bandmate parfitt.quo is dead for me .i love albums like piledriver- quo- on the level -hello ,and ,particular,-blue for you, then they became more and more cheesy.goodby quo.

    Always loved Francis Rossi, as a sincere and down to earth guy. But here he is embarrissing himself, and the interviewer. Not the best interviewer, to say the least, but that does not give him the right...... By the way, there's no more Quo really since Rick died. Bury the name, and go under your own name Francis.

    Well, place some stupid total irrelevant questions and what should an old rocker do? This " interviewer" should have prepared some relevant questions instead of why he has'nt played the festival before, and asking him about a fans UA-cam Channel. I would gave thrown him out of the bus and told him to choose another job👊
