It's refreshing to watch some one use shears instead of a motorized trimmer of some kind. Shows real skill. It's refreshing to watch a gardener who knows the plants and knows how to take care of them. It's nice to see two guys having fun while they work. Makes work more fun.
I wished you lived in France 🇫🇷...I’d ask you to take care of my garden . Watching you work is so peaceful... Even when you used the trimmer you did it sowly and carefully , not like some other people on Utube who litterally attack bushes with a vengeance . Old French lady.
Love the way you two get on , joking , laughing and singing ! ! Garden looked great after you finished all the tidying and trimming. Well done guys 👍👍👍
I take it you’ve had a lot of these customers for a while, your knowledge of the plants and landscape are impressive.i like how you take care of the shaping of the larger bushes. Great video, you two are killing it.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Hey thank you, 10 year of working in gardens, when your selling a service it’s important to me to make sure I know what I’m dealing with and how to care for them, thanks for watching 😀
I think what you do is a form of art. I could never get anything to look like I didn’t just hack the heck out of it. You have a good eye for shape and balance. And I love how silly you both are!!
I love English gardens. With you guys... I love them even more. I learn so much and enjoy watching your videos after a cold day. It's winter here in Chile. Freezing mornings 🥶. So, enjoy the sun...and pray for mild temperatures 💖🙏
I have been having a very hard time and I am so glad I found your channel. Not only do I like to watch you do your precision gardening, but the laughter between you give brightness heart. Even if I don't hear clearly what your saying to each other it is your sweet genuine laughs that lightens my soul. I wish I had a job where I could be free to express my gardening talents but to work with a person you can enjoy the job with. How lucky and blessed you two are.
Thank you Maggie we appreciate your support and love hearing these comments, me and gaz are as genuine as it gets and we are glad you enjoy watching our videos. Sorry you have been having a hard time recently, sending you hugs 🤗 😀
You two always make me laugh. There is something very satisfying about using hand shears. My garden mad parents decided I could safely use a pair when I was 8 years old. It then became my job to trim the privet hedge each month to keep it tidy.Getting it to look uniform and tidy each time became a challenge I really enjoyed. At 72 I have arthritis in my wrists and hands and can no longer use them, and my family don’t trust me with the big trimmers (🙄). Apart from that I still maintain my garden myself.I gave up my career to raise my 4 children and my garden became my place of peace and “me” time. It still is today. I cut my delphiniums and salvias back when they finish flowering and always get a second round of blooms again each year. They’re very forgiving.
Love your attention to details! I’m so tired of my landscapers ripping out my newly planted perennials, they still had the tag on them! They ripped out my iris, even the rhizomes!
That gardens had an amazing transformation since you first worked on it. Makes a big difference when someone cares about what their doing. Keep up the good work guys.
Hmmmm, I think I've been using my hedge shears upside down for many years! Ooops!! 🤭 Learn something new everyday! Also, thanks for the tip on cutting back my Lady's Mantle after blooming! 😁👍
Loved this video especially because of your interaction with one another. Gary is cute when he gets in front of the camera lol. Keep doing what you are doing. 🙏🏼🌟🌹😊
@@acreslawncare Gary is not shy lol, he just needs to hear more that he is handsome, you both are! I like your awesome hair. I am NOT trying to ask for a date, I am your grandma 👵 age or older hahahaha. 🙏🏼🌹🌟😊
That patio railing is very unique, looks hand forged! Probaby isn't but looks as if it is. Very nice!! Garden looks nuch better. The pup is happy. Like my dog, always finding some gross to eat in the yard! Her favorites are bugs & earth worms! 🤯
When I see a new post from you boys, I settle down real quick and give it my full attention, lol! I am transported to a happy place 😊 BTW, thank you for teaching me how to hold shears . I never knew that the curved blades face the hedges. 🙏🏼🥰
That’s lovely to know 😀🥰. Sorry for late reply, it’s been such a busy week and as the channel grows more comments flow so need to find some time to reply to them all, my little boy is walking and he’s just in everything now so my eyes are on him 24/7 haha,
What do your customers put in your tea!😂. Really great tidy up and reshape. Give me shears and secateurs any day but hedge trimmer’s do have there place. Love the dog 🐶. Well done 👍 Have a good weekend.
Love watching you have fun while working and trimming by "hand" because is more relaxing. This garden is starting to look clean and tidy....until you focused Gary and we saw a white door settled like some kind of fencing...behind that door...a jungle!!! So don't open the door (even if I would say, open and clean 🤣🤣🤣🤣). Yes everything is drying here too, we use to have a rainy weather in North Spain (Basque Country sea shore) but this year ... there's so little rain, not many days and just some hours so yes...not beautiful grass around here either. I don't like Geraniums...I understand are easy to keep and bring colour to some beddings but not in my garden 🤣🤣🤣. Great job!! Waiting to see it all finished in future! (Or as finished as a garden can be 😉)
Hi Alex & Gary, everything was great what you 2 were doing to reshape the yard & telling about each flower bush! But your sound was very Low, on my computer it`s on 100...so it should be loud? I love your conversation & cut-ups you 2 do...so that`s why it`s Important to Hear You 2!! Can`t wait to watch another video of you 2! Have a great day & weekend! Take care & stay safe Love from Illinois USA
Hi there. I really like watching your vids, i think i´m learning a lot. One request, do something with voice settings, when you guys speak, i need to put 100% on my speakers to hear anything, and then when music suddenly starts, it wakes the hole house. Can you use mics or something ?? Thanks so much :)
Hallo guys. The garden look great. I want to ask you a question. Don't you use mulch in England. I can't say I ever saw it being used. Is it a preference or do you use it sometimes. Karima South Africa
We don’t tend to use mulch that often, We do ad compost and manure to the flowers beds to improve nutrients, some people want mulch but it’s not really a big thing in English gardens. 😀
Looking out the chopped off trees reminds me of six 100-foot-tall Washingtonia robusta (Mexican Fan Palm) that were cut-off 80-feet from the ground. -- they looked like telephone poles
Yes 🙌 around the railing areas I don’t want to catch my hedge trimmer and do some damage. So shears are better. But sometimes I just like to use shears I find it really satisfying hearing the clipping noise
Why did you put a bucket upside down on a round shrub and then trim all around the shrub? I can’t figure out how when you pulled the bucket off, you didn’t have to trim the shrub part that was underneath the bucket.

Hi, perfect job as always.
Thank you 🙏
Looks great.
If the homeowner doesn't want to wait for the hole to fill in she can put an ornament in there....on a stick... The garden spiffed up very nice.
Hey Jeff how are you, that’s a good idea, she has a couple decretive pots that might work in the bed 🙌👍

It was the one in front of the metal wall.
Looking out the chopped off trees reminds me of six 100-foot-tall Washingtonia robusta (Mexican Fan Palm) that were cut-off 80-feet from the ground. -- they looked like telephone poles
You should cut the green one to look like a bonsai tree.
Is there a reason you use clip on somethings and the power hedger on others.
Yes 🙌 around the railing areas I don’t want to catch my hedge trimmer and do some damage. So shears are better. But sometimes I just like to use shears I find it really satisfying hearing the clipping noise
What’s the name of that bar you were using to lift the berberis out? I definitely need one of those!

@@acreslawncare thanks! Also cracking job of the garden. Some serious skills shaping those shrubs 👍🏻

Lol Gary can come and redo my patio it needs a old fire pit filled in and re skimmed if he likes cenement that much 😂😂😂

Why did you put a bucket upside down on a round shrub and then trim all around the shrub? I can’t figure out how when you pulled the bucket off, you didn’t have to trim the shrub part that was underneath the bucket.
Does the deck have metal surface?
Random one did you go college for ground maintenance ect also did you study all the plant names or learnt then along the way ??
Never went to college. The guy that trained me was very knowledgeable and would quiz me everyday on plants and just continue to learn as you go 💪
Cool
