People give Green Day a lot of flack these days, but they always brought their A-game to the Stern show and will always have a special place in my heart for that.
Yeah man, I was going to say I always thought Warning was such a good record. I know American Idiot got all the airplay and was a pop cultural smash, but really Warning is solid album.
If you look closer, he throws both of the sticks behind him before grabbing a fresh pair to re-start the song a second or two later. No doubt Tre chews up sticks on the edge of his cymbals and whatnot and was looking to grab a brand new pair to finish out the song. Because the easiest way to deal with a broken drumstick is to stop it before it happens! (I play the drums, so I knew what he was doing as soon as I saw the second stick go flying as well.)
Late 90s and 2000 are the same thing, lol. At least it felt that way back then (y). But yes, if we cathegorize, it is a diff decade, yet the feel was the same when it comes to GD music.@@trickhotspot9452
They must've done 2 takes and just made tweaks post production which ever sounded best. If you'll notice somewhere between 2:18 and 2:25, Billie was doing a rather a "down down" strumming, but when the camera got up close you'll notice his arm was doing an "up down up down" strum.

My favorite Green Day song.
Mine is 21 Guns
Nice to hear Michael
Stern show had the audio cooked just perfectly right for this one. The way the drums come through is sensational.
his voice is still angelic to me after all these years.

They always bring their A game period.
They brought their A-game in every concert they've ever done, even in 2022 (except maybe 2012 iHeartRadio).
@@pmaster1173 I still love that show
What makes you think they don't bring their A game anywhere else

Warning was Not 90’s
It’s early 2000’s

Green Day has killer deep cuts.
How is this a deep cut?
@@pandoz40 It's a single.. from Warning, which I guess being from Warning and not being Minority automatically makes it a deep cut
Omg 🥺🥺🥺💋💋💋

Is it just me or does Billie’s strumming at the beginning not match the pattern the sound is making?

There's 4 people in Green Day
